They all have at some point, so it’s worth keeping a check on them to see if the price drops

It’s a great price for the last book of 6, but such a shame the 1st 5 aren’t the same price! (confused)

Can’t go wrong with 99p and was always going to be difficult to follow up the tattooist. (If one was needed is a different discussion!)

Thanks, heard not as good as the tattooist but will give it a go for £1.

Good book. . More of an imagined story than the first book but a good read nonetheless.

The first one was badly written. The author usually writes for the cinema and it shows. No depth whatsoever to the characters, cliched expression, and doesn't have the ability to describe life in the camps. Mills and Boon/Disney version of the Shoah which is at times laughable. An insult to the memory of the millions who died. Says more about the decline in the publishing industry than anything else.

fishmaster

It's horrendous that an author would take the truth and make fiction out of it. The events that happened between 1939-1945 deserve the utmost care an attention to portray the truth. This author creates a sickening book not so much for the subject matter but for the disregard of the truth. Cilka's real story deserves the truth and this author has whitewashed history. Truly sickening the depths humans will go to, to make money. https://www.themonthly.com.au/issue/2020/february/1580475600/christine-kenneally/fabulist-auschwitz#mtr

No. Prime Reading is a freebie you get if you subscribe to Amazon Prime. You can read a very limited selection of books for free. And take out 10 at a time. Kindle Unlimited is exactly the same but you have a huge selection of books, including audiobooks. Over a million titles. Prime Reading has only a couple of thousand books. The first Firemane just happens to be included in those couple of thousand.

Danny_Speed

Isn't that what kindle unlimited is, borrowing ten books at a time? Am I paying extra for nothing?

clarkybull1

Fantastic. Thank you very much, Heat (y)

First book was ace. I almost bought this for ten not long ago, glad i waited. Heeaat!

Yas

Yeah, that’s it. Prime Reading. You can “borrow” 10 books at a time. The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu is also in there. I didn’t get on with it, but it’s received a lot of acclaim and notice, especially when Netflix picked it up.

He's a Tory but can't help but write some cracking stories. Would highly recommend the prequel series to this: the Clifton Chronicles.

Many thanks Boz, some more hospital reading for January. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Funny clip of "master" storyteller Jeffrey Archer boasting about how tough he was going to be when he became Mayor of London. Instead of that he had a change of career, by being booted out of the party and locked up in a not very serious prison on account of one of his "master" stories being based on fiction rather than fact as he'd claimed.
