No, it doesn't connect with HDMI. It uses a SCART but like I said, I didn't need to purchase any additional cables, just used what was in the box.

:/ dont buy it many of us still require a dvd player for young childrens dvd not all of us have subscriptions to full movies and utube has alot of popup even of utube kids(annoyed) if its no interest to you dont buy (skeptical)

Thank you

Cold dvd player. will be on antiques roadshow next week.

I dont think any come with hdmi. In the happiest case, they may come with a scart, but I doubt this will be included. Usually dvd players come with a component. Anyway, you can find hdmi cables for £1 or less.

JVC 32 inches, Full HD, smart, with built in DVD player £199.99 @ Currys

It is in store only, it's specified. I've personally went to Currys for this and they confirmed, sadly the TV was not in my local. The code may have expired in the meantime.

Code didn’t work for me

Just stopped at Currys in Sheffield, nothing in stock. Asked if I can order it for collection and to have the voucher applied, not possible. Closest in stock in Rotherham, I was told if I go there, the voucher will apply. So, I guess you have to find first if they have in stock in order to use the code.

To be honest, I do not know how it works. Gave it a try over the internet but did not work (code specifies in store only). Wanted to speak to somebody on chat but was too late, nobody available. My plan was to go to currys today but got busy, so I will try over the weekend. When I select the tv, it shows available to collect straight away, so I am assuming they have it at my local. The cheaper one, Toshiba, for £198 is not available to pick up, so I assume the JVC is at the shop. Still debating if I should place a order, pay and when going to collect to ask for £20 back, or I should go in store first. I would have liked the idea to have it delivered but don't know how I can get the money back, so I may try to speak to currys on their chat.

Thanks. The issues is that curry's stores don't seem to stock this TV. It gets delivered to store which means you have to pay full price. I suppose you could try and return it and rebuy using the code but seems a bit of a potch

Please note that there is a 6 pound excess charge on deliveries less than 40 GBP. No problem though I'll change to Sainsbury's for one week groceries. DVD has HDMI so flexible usage. No messing with cinavia and will play all my legacy disks. Have some heat. Does it do divx on files on disks

Not everybody has Xbox 4K money some people are happy with what they have and this would do well for someone with a tv without a DVD player / kids etc

Just because it's old does not make it rubbish. Most of the Freeview content is still in SD and not so long ago we were all watching TV on CRT's with a scart input and it gave a very satisfactory picture. It's also a myth that people don't use DVD's any more but they are still sold after every new movie release. It may not suit a lot of people being scart only but it's 18 quid and making a comparison with an Xbox One is very unrealistic. Those looking for HDMI, Scart and a USB port at a cheap price might want to look around at something like the Logik L2HDVD12 though, which can sometimes be seen around the £25 mark, although you can also find others being sold on Fleabay.

Well said . Scart degrades signal . Dont buy this ancient rubbish . Buy 4k blu ray player like xbox one s instead and connect it with hdmi . Anything that comes with scart is pure junk.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh ha, I hear you (was contemplating trying another B&M Store also anyway, lol), thanx. :-) I'll see what Tomorrow hold's then?, hehehehe.

They didnt have any when my mrs saw a fb post. It was a few days later so they may restock. Incidentally.... we also have a b&m express (formally heron foods) near us. B&m stock is odd generally, we go to various ones getting the pop figures when they were on offer. Sone get different ones... some get more of the same.

Fair enough, your're fortunate at least, I went to the B&M on Chadwell Heath Retail Park (in Goodmayes) last night ... But guess what?, nadda. :-( So no point anyone trying that Store (if anyone's interested). At the time, it was still worth a shot at I guess (as you never know, etc, lol).

Taken from the Blaupunkt website "It is the use of the trademark Blaupunkt in conjunction with a defined product category - for a defined period of time - in a defined territory. The licensee retains the product design and control. Once a product category is assigned to a licensee, that licensee is completely responsible for the design, manufacturing, distribution, and sales of that product. In other words, they retain control of the process while having access to the power of the Blaupunkt brand heritage and partner support." A posh way of saying exactly the same as I did - stick the badge from a once respected brand on something to fool people into thinking it is quality.

Its there to explain how they licence their products, in the about us section.

If this is an attempt to deny what I said, sorry, go dig a bit deeper, a flashy website doesnt mean they arent fronting for a tat merchant or two. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polaroid_Corporation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaupunkt

Dolby Vision firmware update is out now

My point is that it’s everything from the DAC onwards (the analogue outputs etc). In a 4K blu ray player like this, where the information leaving the player is EXACTLY the raw digital data that was on the disc (and assuming the transport is at least capable of reading that data, which isn’t asking much), then all players are equal. In this case it’s exactly like a computer hard drive - if all the bits get through, the file loads; if they don’t , it doesnt. Your MP3 files would have no more ‘colour’ or ‘presence’ with a better hard drive.

It's alot more than the dac..... And anyone that puts a £40 cd player in a hi end system needs shooting.

This isn't a 4k player, it won't be able to read 4k discs. This is just an upscaler.

So reading the comments IF there is no difference between 4K players can I buy this https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-bd-j6300-smart-3d-4k-upscaling-blu-ray-player-w-wi-fi-8495-magicvision-2912406 and save myself over £100 with no loss of picture quality?

After doing a bit of search I realised the AV receiver of this system is rather basic and is something I would not buy, I will be happy to spend around £200-300 more and get proper system , but I understand not everyone is as enthusiastic about sound as I am. That being said I am gonna try and offer you some advice on how to set it up : firstly get a proper source like blu ray player, the sound from TV broadcasts is very low bit rate so it will sound bad anyway, connect the speakers make sure the colours match on the receiver so they are not out of phase. In the receiver change crossover values 80hrz for satellite speakers and 120hrz for the subwoofer if you can. Make sure speakers are set to small, the subwoofer is set to "use" and phase or polarity is set to "normal" not reverse. Get free spl meter for you phone, adjust all speaker levels so they all match to 75db or thereabouts. Then measure all speaker distance with tape measure to where you would sit and enter the values in the receiver so it can set the appropriate delays. Make sure the sub and 3 front speakers are along the front wall, do not put the sub more than a meter away from either front left or front right speaker. Switch off all tone controls, equalisers and DSP effects , if there is some sort of dynamic range control turn it off. In the menu of TV see if you can set ARC to bitstream rather than PCM and look for the dynamic range control again, make sure its off. After doing this try and test with at least some sort of Dolby Digital 5.1 content, like SKY Movies if you have or good HD Channel like BBC. If it sound good only then you should start experimenting with double bass functions , equalisers , tone controls and so on. If after doing this you are still not happy , by all means return it.

How have I not set them up properly? Speakers are connected to Receiver with HDMI cable going from Receiver to HDMI port supporting ARC on TV. I’ve tried tweaking the treble, bass etc. tried programs available and still... not much better than what i already have. It’s not to say the sound from this is bad. By all means it’s not. But it’s not worth what I paid for it with such little improvement in sound quality.

I was just about to be sarcastic and say if its not Logiteck speakers then it will be horrible, and voila straight away there is someone comparing AV separates to pc speakers XD XD XD . You have not set them up properly , it is very easy but if you are not sure just look online , there are plenty tutorials, btw if you connect any speakers costing gazilion pounds straight to TV via RCA they will all sound horrible. I bought my first av receiver 8 years ago Onkyo tx sr605 with onkyo entry level speakers which costed only £100 brand new and sound quality blew me away, I came from Cambridge Soundworks THX 550 5.1, good and expensive set of pc speakers at the time and there was simply no comparison. Judging sound quality is very subjective , but calling the apples pears is simply ignorance.

My wife went on holiday, I changed my 5.1 to a 7.1 8)

Really? WOW ok that's a bummer. Looks like I gotta stick with the original plan of selling the YSP-2500 & upgrading to the YSP-2700. More than twice the price but it will keep her happy.

Thanks @rev6 When I first asked they didn't seem to be aware of the product at all but after a bit of chasing I finally received the firmware today and it has fixed the problem. It seems to be the same as the original firmware though I don't have a record of the original version number. It can be downloaded from the link below (link only valid until 29/08/2018): http://en.mail.qq.com/cgi-bin/ftnExs_download?t=exs_ftn_download&k=223931357200568e016399ae433454544a0d525102525b045014060207004e52545d05185d065a05480a085153040251575f540d57347266246c7a703d06535753090907521a190f15390c&code=e915d4cf&fid=72/4cdff8b5-77c4-41d4-929c-39d70a72fe83

No sadly not. I contacted them twice about it. First time they said they would get back to me and never did. Second time they just ignored me!

@rev6 did Aukey ever get back to you about the original firmware? That would probably fix it

Yes, absolutely, most TVs start at 32" these days, smaller sets are the exception. To be fair LCDs are so thin these days you can fit them in a lot of places you couldn't imagine having a TV before. Freezing deal though, JVC is nothing more than a Vestel budget set and 720P is very poor these days, 1080P should be the minimum and why only DVD when Bluray has been around well over a decade? Nothing against unbranded sets mind, my main TV and bedroom sets are both Vestels and work absolutely great but I got them extremely cheap as a result, here you are paying almost big name prices for a no name set....

Was on offer before xmas, i got one for the daughter November for the same price

Seems like they will wack anything on a 32" TV these days before just making them full HD!!!! Does my head in... I don't want a gigantic TV dominating the livingroom, just a 32", Full HD, good sound.... you know... like you could buy 5 years ago. (poo) (poo) (poo)
