Now seems to be regularly the same price as the 10. Not going to complain about that. Heat
All Laphroaig Discounts, Offers and Sale - January 2019
Very peaty, however, it comes with nice subtle sweet smokey taste. It should be quite harsh, but it's very smooth for a NAS and is quite a complex drink.
I picked a bottle of the quarter cask from Amazon deal of the day
Laphroaig Lite. For those who don't like Laphroaig. Shocking stuff, like Vesta Beef Curry, for those who don't like Curry. Heat for the others.
1st measure: identical to my dentists mouthwash. 2nd measure: same as above ... 10th measure: you know what, it's kinda okay ... Half bottle mark: I can see why people might like this ...to be continued.
A bit sharper than Ardbeg 10, ardbeg 10 and Ardbeg An oa are much smoother.
Jeeeeez that’s good !!!! Not allowed to buy a drop more though after Bushmills 16 yesterday . Heat added :)
Good price. Hoping Amazon will match this
I’ve seen this as low as £22 in a bargain booze in Carlisle. £30 is top end these days for the 10yo. Sorry cold.
£26 at Tesco . 10 yrs old
It used to be, these days it doesn't drop below £28 often.
Agree. Also often at £26 or £27 mark recently.
It was £55, still have my bottle unopened from last year
This is an excellent Islay whisky and a good price. As others have mentioned I don't think it is worth the RRP and you can get two bottles of QC for less, but nice for a special occasion or indulgence. If you like other Laphroaig you HAVE to try it at least once.
Great price for a good Islay. I agree with some of the comments on here. Not worth £77 RRP, however certainly worth £57. Can’t argue at that price. I’ve actually got an open bottle of this at present. I’m gonna sit down and pour myself a dram. Then I’ll decide whether to buy another one. One thing is for sure, you won’t see this again at this price until next Nov/Dec. Barring a post christmas discount later this month.
Sometimes lightning deals don't show up in camel, so frieqs could be correct. None the less, a good price.
My resolve is severely weakening but this price is just too good to resist loads of heat :) :) :)
This stuff is the bo****ks and I don't think I've seen it lower.
QC every time. Or Lagavulin <3
Which one is smokier tasting the QC or the 10 year?
Makes the QC the way to go 😜
Frustrating that amazon have now tied it into their pantry and no longer prime
I find it a lil TCP-ish tbh, but I'd still have it at a good price :) #Scottish :)
Maybe worth buying via the Italian site, with their current deal :)
Thanks, I'll just put some petrol in the time machine (y)
been this price for a while on and off before that
Wasnt this posted yesterday?
Gutted I missed this! Great whisky and a great price. Tried this PX version after first buying the travel exclusive Laphroaig Brodir which was fantastic; one of my favourites
Great balance of sweet sherry and that laphroaig peat, bought a bottle at duty free for about £55. Amazing value for a litre of decent whisky.
For those who don't know. PX = Pedro Ximenez sherry, which is also used to make Nigella Lawson's epic Xmas pudding.
It's a litre bottle too!!!
Heat. Bought 2 for the kids rooms.
Laphroaig 10 year whisky is £25.12 at co-op, less 10% off for NUS holders = £22.61
For the money youll struggle to find a better whisky.
Buy, buy, buy!
Promotion runs until 23rd of December with Amazon Pantry. 🎄🎄🎁🥃
Good price for those without a time machine. :) 🔥 🔥 🔥
Decent price. I bought a bottle from asda recently for £30
Yes and as well as the OP, shame on someone with Edinburgh in their username to also misspell it!
I'll say it before somebody else does... This is whisky, not whiskEy.
Agreed. Unless you have another insane deal such as that, this offer is likely the best 2018 one we've had on it.
good price for a great whiskey, been £18 before i think in Coop but at this price still cheaper than most places. Hot!
Yes, it will have gone up now. It was a deal of the day yesterday.
Looks like its £32.00 from Amazon (Back ordered) to me, could be wrong though.
Reported as "unexpired" - available for delivery in a couple of weeks.
It's not - that's from a marketplace seller. You can still order from Amazon at £24.90, but it's out of stock. This deal shouldn't be marked as expired.
Backordered, so won't get until early December, but don't mind at that price.
Same here. I find Select has a medicinal taste.
I like Laphroaig 10yr Old and Quarter Cask and don't like Select. Hopefully that will help some decide. Select is like a mild mixed flavours Islay which will suit some nicely.
Please note that this is the 'Select'. Not to everyone's taste.
The 10 year old is £28 at Tesco. If you don’t need the glasses I’d spend the extra £1.10 and buy the £28. But this deal £26.90 for the bottle and glasses is still good
I am. Confused. The promotion is for £5 off after this purchase.
Price of this is actually 21.90 Once you've placed the order, go to Amazon chat to get a 5 reimbursement for the promotion
For sure. I would suggest the two Glencairn glasses + the bottle of Kilchoman on offer today only is a far superior deal
I agree. I also agree with his main point that the 10yo (if a little bit more expensive) is worth it. To me this set is £20 for the Whisky and £6.90 on two nice glasses, so it comes that much under the 10 yo price to be a recommendation.
Too Peaty for me... but that’s just personal taste.
The Select is a much smoother, easy drinking expression. If you really enjoy the 10yo you'll very likely be disappointed.
Personally i think Aldi or Lidl Islay malts are as good as select
In my opinion it's nothing like it. The Select tastes watered down in comparison. But this isn't about personal taste, I'm voting hot because it's a good price.
This is a money saving website!
Mixing a little of this into a cheaper but decent whisky like Jameson creates something wonderful and cheap.
I have only ever seen one deal for Caol Ila standard bottle. That was Amazon two xmas' ago. The Amazon Xmas deals usually start middle of November so you never know
You don't happen to know of any deals on Caol Ila do you?
This and Lagavulin distillers edition are the best in this price range for peated whiskies, both will probably be reduced this time next month.
Fantastic malt for the money. Its worth pointing out, Amazon will reduce this to £57 inc delivery during the Black Friday/Pre Christmas sale. Might be worth being a little patient if you don’t plan to drink it anytime soon. I always pick a bottle up each year.
So you drink what Jim says ?
Nice whiskey, just got the two taliskers for £40 deal off amazon otherwise would’ve gone for this
You're confusing it with the Laphroaig "Select" whisky. Post a link to your claimed more expensive £29.50 price as when I just looked it is £37.87 on Amazon.
Don't know where the £37.87 comes from as it is never that price, more like £29.50 and a bit. Bought another one for my son last week, unfortunately.
I was interested until I saw it had a limit on it of 132. I wanted 133! Great price if u have costco!
Scorchio !!! (if you already have Costco).
Thanks for the prompt to try the Lidl / AldI ones. Do you have a preference? / anything to compare them to? All advice much appreciated!
I agree with all that
wait for either 10yo or Quarter Cask to come on offer. Both Aldi and Lidl Islays are actually better than select. Its not terrible but its stable brothers make it seem like a poor relation
I always have a bottle of 10 in my collection. Someone bought me a bottle of Select, not realising the difference. I wasn't keen at all. It had a rather medical / TCP taste to me.
The select is pretty indescript compared to the QC and 10. If you like your peaty scotch strong this probably isn't for you.
now price matched by Amazon Prime
Thanks for posting, man. I love this whisky.
Still far better value than the endless NAS whiskies for a similar price. As most are less than half the age, this is decent value for money.
There aren't any, that was kind of my point. On reflection "average" was a bit harsh, it is a good malt, but I stand by my opinion, the price has been driven up by bandwagon marketing (which also answers the post from lucas) to a premium price for only a 'good' malt. @lucas and that's why it's clever.
I’ve never seen this marketed, it sells itself
Lovely whisky at a good price. Anyone who is generally against NAS whisky should try this.
Ordered one, only 10 left (4 gone within 20min) it will be gone by the end of the day
Yeah this is a fantastic whisky and imo hands down the best whisky you can get that periodically drops below £30.
Agree. £28 for the quarter is a steal. I always stock up in the £26-£28 range
Insane that this is being voted cold when it was ultra hot for only £1 more! Great whisky for this price, HEAT!
