Just got a £1099 mattress for £879.

The National Bed Federation say people change their mattress more than ever before. On average most people would change every 5/7 years. It’s dreams that say 8 years. Many high end manufacturers matts will have atleast 10year guarantee. So should last long

It’s not the same. Hypnos Premier Inn mattress is exclusive to Premier Inn. You can only purchase that mattress direct from Premier Inn themselves. John Lewis and many other retailers have very similar variations

Don't forget to use protection as an in a matress protector (cheeky)

Stand it up on its side. Simples!

Dormeo Options Hybrid Mattress - King 150cm COSTCO £169.99
Found 15th DecFound 15th Dec
This is a decent mattress, which we actually bought a couple of years ago, also from Costco. OK if you don't have an account there (or know somebody else who does) you'll have to … Read more

We have had this for over a year. Delivered by DPD. First one was badly battered by DPD. Called Costco CS and they uplifted the old one and gave me a new one. Thankfully DPD were kinder to the second one. I have tried Simba, Casper, Emma, Leesa and a Sealey Geltex. This was the best. I initially felt it was too soft, but the main point I have noticed is that I wake up every morning with a happy back. The only other mattress that kept my back happy was the Emma and that felt firmer. But it was 899 and started dipping after 2 months of use. This has been much more robust. Last few months I have purchased a Panda foam topper. The purpose of buying it was to prolong the life of the mattress. The combination works perfectly for us. Soft yes, but no back pain at all in the morning. So I have given up on checking the softness/hardness of the mattress and instead focus on how my back feels in the morning. 199 for this + 99 for the Panda topper = best mattress I have had to date and total cost = 298. Beware though that adding a topper makes the bed quite deep and you will probably need deeper fitted sheets. I have also owned a Tempur in the past and that was a poor investment.

Thanks, that's interesting, I never even considered the depth of the spring. Considering it's also half the amount of springs of the Dormeo options hybrid PLUS I suppose it wouldn't be too long before dips appear!

Tuffnells the courier used by Costco are useless. I ordered the queen size from the Black Friday deal, I opened my front door in time for the delivery driver to shout at me from his van "it is just there" before driving off. He had left it outside my property leaning against the brick gate post, it was too heavy for me to move on my own so had to leave it there. Emailed Tuffnells and Costco complaining but never received a response so requested collection and a refund telling them it is still outside where the lazy driver left it. That was weeks ago and it is still there in a very soggy cardboard box.

According to Dormeo site it says Upto 728. That is based on the king size. And Dormeo tend to use a spring 1/3 smaller than a normal pocket spring. So a very low count and each spring is already less supportive due to it build

could someone please tell me the amount of spings in this mattress, only I cant see it on costcos page

Crushed Velvet Double Bed with cubed headboard + Memory Foam Mattress… Read more

This one was. The bed I picked up was from the Handmade Bed Company by Millbrook. It was a Boutique 2000 King Size Divan with a matching Adelphi headboard. The sprung edge divan had no storage, but was very solid with no slats and is finished with some high quality upholstery and 1000 springs to complement the 2000 pocketed springs in the mattress. The bed was high end and the whole package (as you can see from the label) cost £3000, but as it was a showroom clearance item, it was marked down to £549!!! The bed was in immaculate condition, was repackaged for delivery 5 days after purchase to a high standard. I was fortunate that I was in the right place at the right time, but it's worth popping in regularly. Usually you'll find these deals hidden at the back. In this case, the clearance item was placed amongst the high end beds, so if you were on a small budget, you could have quite easily have missed this deal by not even bothering to look at this back area of the bedding department. The salesman admitted to me that this item was sold at a loss, but there comes a point where they need to clear the space. Having said that, the divan and headboard are in the current range and a quick Google search will confirm to you that the scale of the markdown is genuine and not one of those retailer's exaggerated discounts. The only downside is their 10 year warranty is reduced to 2 years, but as long as you've had a thorough check of the bed's condition, you really can't go wrong.

Are their bed pretty solid? Was looking for a ottoman but he slats look so crap on the cheap ebay beds.

Furniture Village in-store clearance at the back of the store. If you're lucky you can pick up a deal like this.

(lol) definitely a new mattress is the way to go in that case XD

The mattress sucks. It just does. She sits on it and she on the base of the bed if that makes sense? We are due to change it for a zero gravity mattress in the new year. She cant wait! (And lose weight? Shes not far off 6ft tall. Nowt to her! (lol) )

Visco Therapy Deluxe Memory Foam Coil Spring Rolled Mattress - Double

Dreams have a half price sale :)

I wouldn’t recommend this just on reviews, I would look at IKEA you can get a decent double for about £160 spring and memory foam and really good warranty

Looking for a decent mattress but one that isn't cheap but not more than a month's salary is pretty hard.

Wish there were tighter rules regarding stating of previous prices.

Lol, it's never been that amount according to the 3 camels...

Your right, they were £99 must of put prices up since yesterday grrrrrr

this inst there best deal! Black Friday week (month) they were doing £100 off, the week before that they were offing a free protector and free pillows which would have been the better deal if you wanted pillows. you have to have the protector if you want the 100 day trial, but the protector and pillows arent cover in the 100 day. they also do a recommend a fried and get £50off your purchase and a £50 amazon for the recommendation

You can choose from an Amazon echo dot, Fitbit or Lumie bodyclock. This things are quite expensive in any high street shop. I just bought the mattress to my niece so I can get the Fitbit. 2 gifts in 1. Amazing deal!

Its a deal not a freebie, but thanks for posting. If you can change it to a deal you will hopefully get a better response.

Thanks del for a fair review.

Sorry for the delay in getting back! Took a bit longer to get it down and sleep on it! My honest opinion is for the price it is great value. It's going into winter but, like I say, because of the combination of springs and foam I don't think there'll be any worries about overheating. Having sold beds at 'Britains Leading Bed Reatailer' for 5 years if my mates wanted to buy a mattress and not spend the earth I would defo recommend it. How long will it last? Dunno. If you got 5 years out it, for the price, fine. Forget all this 'gauranteed for 10 years' nonsense. After that length of time any material is hoaching! How does it feel? I've been sleeping on a spring and latex combo, so I would say medium firm. Bit of a kop out but it is subjective. To clarify that a bit though, unless you sleep on your back you don't want a firm mattress, which most people don't! I honestly can't fault it, and no, I don't work for Dormeo and/or Costco :D I took mine out and laid on the spare room floor to give it time to expand. When you first take it out you think it will never expand and look right. These are the pictures when I put it in my frame.... You'll struggle to get as good as matt for the same price IMHO.

Been waiting for 10 days now for mine, said 3 days when I ordered it.Contacted customer service and was told 'We're chasing it up'.My account still has the processing status on it.Paid the £15 membership fee plus the mattress price, still cheaper than anywhere else.Decided to look up some reviews on Costco and it doesn't make good reading.Think I'll cancel the membership if the mattress eventually arrives.

Same I’m interested if anyone can provide some feedback please. Kevin

After sleeping on it, what do you think? Thank you

Hi the memory foam toppers will offer better support than a natural filled topper, but can also get very warm so can be difficult to live with during the summer months. A natural topper such as goose or duck offer unparalleled softness and comfort, and great for all year round use. Plus no weird chemical smell as you get with a memory foam. Hope that helps, if you do a quick quick Google search memory v goose topper you will get a list of pros and cons for both to help you decide.

Are the all gel mattress toppers better than this?

I just purchased a new king size 3000 pocket sprung with natural fillings, wool cashmere silk etc UK made for £99 delivered via eBay, unfortunately the deal has now ended. Still yet to take receipt of the mattress so can't comment on build quality, but of you search you can get a good bargain. I bought the above mattress topper as I've always loved the feel of a good goose topper, when staying away in hotels, but the 100% goose down are just so expensive, even 85% goose feather 15% goose down sell for around £40- £50 mark so to find a high goose down % at this price point is a real bargain.

Like with most things in life you get what you pay for. If you go into any furniture retailer and look at the high end beds from the likes of V-Spring, Millbrook, Hypnos etc. what makes them superior to the more run-of-the-mill stuff is the quality of the construction in the mattress. Typically high end mattresses will be handmade using the finest natural materials such as Egyptian Cotton, Wool and Cashmere and hand stitched. These bed types typically take around 16 hours to manufacture, usually in the UK with UK manufacturing and labour costs. But you are rewarded with a bed that has being lovingly put together, without compromise and is built to last. If you're patient, it's possible to buy such a bed without breaking the bank. A fortnight ago I popped into my local Furniture Village store and right at the very back of the shop they had a Boutique 2000 King Size Divan from The Handmade Bed Company by Millbrook. This included the high end floor standing Adelphi headboard. Normally the whole package cost £3000, but as it was the display model on clearance, we bought the whole lot for £549.00! It was in perfect condition, and I couldn't care less about the colour (Mulberry) because it was such a luxurious bed with a massive markdown. And here's the proof: Although clearance deals are available online, my advice is to make regular trips to your local store because from time to time they need to clear the space to make way for newer ranges, although in this case the bed is far from end of line. As for the mattress topper, I simply went to Home Bargains and picked up a Dreams bedding "Loved to Be Washed" 100% polyester mattress topper for £19.99 and the bed feels like marsh mallow! For comfort it does the job, but if I ever come across a 100% goose down topper at the right price I may upgrade, just for the natural materials. So now you know what to do to buy a bed worthy of HUKD!
