I have 2 of these still going strong after 7 years , not used all the time as very firm use with my other pillows, So I usually use this at the top for when i'm reading and under another pillow to sleep... They wash in the machine no problem and would still class as good as new...

IanFTW

As far as I'm concerned Tempur is leagues above all the others, especially their mattresses. I've got a comfort pillow which is great, my girlfriend was annoyed I spent £60 on a pillow, she can sleep anywhere and doesn't care, her words, yet this morning she laid on it for 3 hours and I'm now having to order another for her. Go figure. Don't know how good this particular pillow is though, but Tempur as a company are great. Edit: although, I do prefer Huawei to Samsung so (lol)

Da_Ta

Anything that overpriced has to be perfect. Anything less than 5 stars on that product is negative as far as I'm concerned, so 62% negative reviews. That's my opinion! Judging by the temperature of this deal I'm not the only one who feels that way. Tempur make huge profits based purely on the name they got for supplying NASA. Others are equally as good if not better.

AlpineTrails

The link has 4 negative reviews out of 30. Do you check the actual reviews before buying or just look at the stars? Also assuming I purchase by choosing the highest priced items is so shallow and proves you didn't even read properly what I said before. But hey, everybody has the right to an opinion.

Da_Ta

amazon.co.uk/dp/B000UYTG0Q/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_t1_tIdVEbEGKD63J Tempur reviews 3.5 out of 5 and £63 Cheap make 4.3 out of 5 and £26 When I buy things I don't click 'sort by price, most expensive first' then buy the first thing on the list. Buying smart is what this site is all about! I've had my cheap make memory foam contour pillows for over 5 years and they as good as new.

I was debating on this when I saw it at the warehouse. Is it quite high to sleep on and firm? I have always had a Dunlopillo but the new ones I just can’t get along with they are too hard and too high. I have tried Simba and some others so don’t want to spend out on another that gets dismissed after first night.

mooo

Yesterday i purchased my pillows from Costco Reading. The queue to get in wasn’t bad at all. I had to wait for a few minutes to get inside. I arrived around 2pm in the afternoon. Generally I prefer my pillows really firm. On face value they are not firm. However they did support and neck well. I had a decent sleep night sleep last night using it. However it does take a while used to it. So I’m happy with my purchase.

NFS

I was there on Friday getting a food shop and needed petrol to get to work and took about 20 minutes to get in my local but once inside I could fly round get the stuff I needed and then the tills were empty rather than a normal day when you’re waiting to be served. it was probably worse being a bank holiday when I went as I would imagine doing in the last 2 hours of a night it wouldn’t be as busy.

NFS

Are these decent pillows to purchase?

harmageddon

I guess it depends on timing (middle of the day tends to be busier), but i've not seen anything like the toiley roll crises of March 2020

Got some like this before turned out to be small

BraddersJ

I've purchased two from Lidl in the past - around £12 I think - and they've been great. I'd be doubtful about any internet one for the same price for obvious reasons. If you're new to these pillows bare in mind that there is a period where they're painful in the morning. They take some getting used to!

whok1844

Just a word of warning i idi not found these comfortable because of the shape and quality of the foam itself

koskesh

You need to pay around £40 for a decent one.anything cheap will be rubbish and just imitation of the real thing.

Pokora

Be careful with these imitations, lots of them are just a sponge where you sink and don't rest.

I find them too firm. The end

AgentSmith

Looks like it's expired.

Sparkz2k16

Although it's a fair comparison, it all comes down to preferences. I found the EVE ones to be miles better than OTTY and couldn't smell any chemical smell at all from them (They were great to use right out of the packaging with no airing). Also OTTY pillows are more expensive now than EVE at current prices. Online, OTTY pillows are £54.99 on the website (Not shipped til middle of June) and on eBay they appear to have vanished. I think if you have standard feather pillows then weather it's EVE, OTTY or another brand, there will be a significantly improved sleep for most people by using them. Just at this BOGOF price for EVE, I cant see OTTY competing for a very long time with prices like that (as it appears their warehouses are empty and they are awaiting new shipments so it could be months, if not next year when their prices are around the same prices they were on the previous deals posted here).

AWard911

I've received my EVE pillows....they smell a bit chemically when you first open them but leave them for 24hrs and the smell dissipates. Have tried them for a few nights and they are ok. Will persevere with them for another week to give them a good test but I have to say I prefer my OTTY pillows which I got off a previous HUKD thread. The quality of the OTTY pillows is better than the EVE ones I feel and they also feel more supportive to me. So I'll probably be sending them back under the 30 day guarantee....but worth trying them with no risk as if they were 'game changing' pillows then i would have kept them. The OTTY pillows were previously available on a HUKD for £34.99 delivered for a pair (but that was before Covid19 pushed up the price of most things) and as it stands there are none available until June. I voted the deal hot as the price currently is good....and the 30 day no risk guarantee means you can return if not satisfied with them. Hopefully the pics below will highlight the difference between the pillows...I feel that the OTTY ones are better manufactured. That is just my opinion comparing the two brands.

The Costco one is called 'Dormeo options hybrid'. I got the king size delivered yesterday for £169. Had a comfortable sleep last night. As mentioned the hybrid one with foam and spring is probably the best option.

ukwestspeed

I have a Tempur at least 10 years old and still the most comfortable mattress I sleep on. Not cheap but I guess you get what you pay for and after all you will spend 1/3rd of your life in bed.

pet2000

I would only buy a foam mattress WITHOUT memory foam. I bought a Silentnight 12yrs ago and still sleep on it comfortable. While you should probably change your mattress every 10 yrs, I haven't because it is very difficult to get a good foam mattress without memory foam. Memory foam is just hyped-up and has no practical value to your comfort. It's the foam underneath which gives you the support (or the springs underneath, like Ipoolm points out).

It's not a memory foam mattress it's a coil spring mattress with a memory foam top layer. "The Bonnell or open coil spring unit is the cheapest and most ineffective support unit you can get in a mattress. It is a continuous piece of wire that is twisted and coiled to create a massive set of joined crude springs. This results in a ‘one size spring’ of sorts, which moves as a mass piece."

Masteryates

Anyone remember those guys on Balls of Steel called something like, "the shaggers?"

5Rivers79

Thing with shops is you can’t replicate a full nights sleep. A half hour test for me isn’t the same as a few hours sleep.

dboi1993

I'm now using an Ikea one which is not that much better to be honest. I have some back issues and i don't think any mattress is comfortable for me to be honest :( I'm currently just putting up with it for now. A mattress is definitely an investment and something you must test out several times before you buy. I would never buy one online again without a trial period. I would suggest going to the shops and testing them properly.

We've been using these pillows for over a year now (bought ours from Holland and Barrett) and love them. Little bit shorter than a standard pillow, so don't fill the pillow cases completely, but very comfortable and we sleep very well on them.

This product is just greenwashing. There’s a reason it doesn’t mention the memory foam much in the description. Because it isn’t very green unlike the bamboo fibre cover

Whilst eve and similar have a layer of memory foam, I don't think they are memory foam mattresses (ie completely memory foam) in the same way as Tempur is. They feel very different. You don't need a crowbar to roll over or get up - in fact it's very easy to.

ninp

I have one. Firm but comfortable. moulds to body but still supportive. Its a very cool mattress so wasn't an issue in the summer

coldo

How do you folks find memory foam mattresses in the summer , interested in getting one but i have heard they can retain a lot of body heat ! Or is that nonsense , appreciate any info .

alictait

I have a Tempur mattress on my spare bed that used to be on my main bed until I bought one of these. I was looking for a new mattress for my spare bed at the time and bought a refurb one of these and ended up preferring it to the Tempur. We have now been sleeping on the eve for the last 2 years. Can highly recommend it. We have had several different memory foam mattresses over the last 15 years and this is probably the best out of them. Obviously subjective, but works for us.

cheaperbythe12

I have an Emma (nothing to do with my ex, Emma) after having an eve (sadly never had an ex called eve or casper for that matter). It's OK but wouldn't say it's amazing. Think I may return it under their 100 day trial to get one of those premier Inn mattresses tho they are quite a bit more. Guess it's horses for courses.

I washed mine for the first time the other day. I did a quick, gentle wash but when I took it out of the washing machine, I thought that it looked totally ruined (as if all of the firmness had gone). However, I did put it in the tumble drier on a gentle heat (they say not to) and I took it out before it was fully dry. I then put it over the bannister to finish drying and now it looks as good as new (and the firmness has returned like it was when I first bought it).
