Second cheapest price it's ever been on Amazon. Is £74.97 at laptopsdirect, but Amazon customer service is much better.

Or just general dislike for MS. Voted hot.

No, people downvote when they have no idea whether a deal is a deal.

StillTheFlyest

Hmm wonder if this would work on a asus transformer chi?

tarryboy

Compared to previous prices it's probably the cheapest, but it is still overpriced. Bit like Apple.

robertr

Slightly cheaper at www.amazon.de for this colour, bigger savings on the other colours there. Personally after the burgundy one to match my keyboard so been keeping an eye on prices for a few months.

4GB i7with 1268GB SSD though, sliiiightly different level of power to a Linx :) . Generally good machine if you want a hybrid that can cope with most tasks/light casual gaming (Sims 4 will work) but far more than the price of a similar spec laptop

In case it's not clear, this isn't an ipad Pro. (highfive)

Very expensive . I rather buy Linx 12v64.

Terrible support on a cheaply made product. I am currently using one coutesty of work, poor battery life and numerous have failed over the past year or so (at work) I would look elsewhere if i had to use my own cash !

The i5 bundle is incredibly tempting, particularly as it has the pen and keyboard for £799. I am so very weary of Currys/PC World customer service. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/microsoft-surface-pro-4-typecover-128-gb-10153705-pdt.html

Broadsands

Tried ordering but no home delivery option if you fo for the £649 bundle! Crazy, you can order the £599 Surface but not as the bundle they are promoting - typical Curry's. Also, none available in store for collection anywhere near me - have e-mailed Curry's Customer Services and no reply!

tckay

I ordered one of these (forgot to bundle the pen) but still can’t decide if it’s a good deal, even though I like it very much. I’ve found the Samsung TabPro Sfor half the price, which doesn’t get such good reviews as the surface pro but is very similar.

This!!! I had this exact model when it first came out, I had to return it to Microsoft 4 times and had 2 failed pens replaced under warranty. I had 2 touchscreen failures where part of the screen failed to register, total failure where it wouldn't turn on or do anything then a screen failure where the display would flicker on and off. One of the times I sent a faulty one back, I was sent another faulty one! It would typically take around 5-7 days where I'd have to send the old one off before a replacement arrived, however I realise now there's an option for them to send a replacement prior to receiving the faulty one. In the end I had enough so sold it on ebay, then 2 months later got an email from Microsoft about a warranty claim again! New buyer clearly had issues. Replaced it with a Dell XPS 12 Convertible which has been faultless.

Cantona007

Pretty sure I Read article last week or round abouts saying you should avoid these. The reason being that they have high failure rate within the year and will need to be repaired.

gsusx

asc91

Nope, 2119. I'm not saying the number is necessarily correct, but that's the reading. My rough maths calculates that to be a not unrealistic sum. I'd have expected around the 1500 mark. It wouldn't be uncommon for it to go through 2-3 cycles in one day. It's my work PC so I normally set it up when I get there and then plug the charger in when it hits low battery around midday. It remains on the charger until I leave work, after which it will get used at home. At work it is often used for demanding processes and at home it might be used to stream movies over wifi with bluetooth sound connectivity. Whether or not all the figures are exact of if the original capacities were wrong, I don't know. But what I can tell you is that my Surface Pro 3 has been utterly abused and the battery life and processing power is still exceptional. Same story for my old Surface Pro 1 - that one also got put under a load of heat stress when I worked in China. Perhaps the capacity is still pretty similar but I would conceed that perhaps the battery drains more quickly - not really sure as any change their would be so gradual. p.s. it was an ex-display model, so that could have bumped up the cycle count significantly.

leelukehope

Yep sounds spot on, good to know Microsoft hasn't been hoarding alien battery technology in their surface pro's (:I

brs98

My Pro 4 has a 38,152 capacity, and says it has had 389 cycles, with a full charge capacity of 34,697. Allegedly. That is a 9% loss. Or close to it.

leelukehope

A cycle count of 2,119?!! I'll assume that's a typing error as that would mean it's been run down to 0% and recharged to 100% twice a day every day for the past 3 years! No lithium battery tech would still be functioning usefully after that much use, let alone only suffering 2% degradation (lol) Assuming you meant 211 cycles, that's not too bad after 3 years of use. Highly unlikely it's only degraded by 2% but as you say maybe the actual capacity from new is much higher than what Microsoft state in the powerconfig or spec sheet.

asc91

Yeah I know it doesn't sound right, but just reporting the stats. I haven't (anecdotally) noticed any loss in battery over the last few years. Cycle count 2119. I think that perhaps my battery, when new, had a slightly higher capacity than labelled.

Tom, this is only my experience, but I have now purchased two items from eGlobal (an LG G6 phone and a Canon g9x ii). Both were delivered inside a week - one by DPD, the other by DHL. Totally happy with each one. OK, if I run into problems ahead, I might have issues, but there are no 'known' issues with either the phone or the camera. Phone was almost half the typical UK price, and the camera was 25% cheaper than the lowest UK price.

The CPU is a lot slower in the Miix. It'll also be using slower eMMC storage. The display is lower resolution. I have the older Miix 300 and while it's good for a cheap 2in1 Windows device it's nowhere near the level of a Surface.

Friend of mine has used the Pro 3 for the last few years at Uni, I've recently stated using a Surface Book. Both are excellent, if you intend to use pen input regularly the Pro is excellent. It's made my note taking far more organised and consistent, not to mention neater since I can erase bits and pieces instantly, plus then I can access them wherever via one drive. Handwritten math to text recognition is excellent too, it's far easier than writing them out manually in Word. The only downside to the pro is that occasionally the kickstand makes it too deep to fit on a narrow surface comfortably (coffee shops, planes etc).

Th3.Ripper

I've used a surface pro 2 for the last year and it's outstanding. Can only dream of upgrading to this.

Which for many is too large for a device that is still primarily a tablet. I know a lot of people with small tablets but everyone who went large sold it and moved back to smaller.

Dante4KR

There is also iPad Pro 12.9"..

Agharta

I do think Apple has a better shot at making a hybrid device because Windows just doesn't have the range of software that is useful in tablet mode. But I'd never want to use a laptop with a screen under 11" for long as it's just too small. So one way or another they are all compromised in my eyes so you have to decide which is more important to you and choose a device optimised for that which in my case is a laptop.

Dante4KR

I think the 10.5" iPad combined with new features of iOS 11 (which are only available on new iPad Pros due to required more RAM),sound very promising. Files App specially allows file management which is do important for productivity and not available on iOs until now. I was thinking iPad is dead and iOs so limited to replace a laptop but new iOS 11 fearures and new 10.5 iPad Pro can actually replace a laptop imo. I'd say specially since you own a Mac,an iPad Pro 10.5 running iOS 11 provides you a better, seamless experience than Surface Pro. the battery life of Surface is very bad and Windows is simply a bad experience in tablet mode. I like Windows 10 and Surface but iOS 11 is a game changer imo.
