Thanks for that, great advice. I will check out the others. :-)

Not really, this a rogue-like dungeon crawler with very few rpg elements. You're much better off with the main series games (Personas 3-5) for RPGs.

Is this recommended to someone new to Persona? I like RPGs a lot

Well done Joey, this time you did it. Even the non UK deals haters should accept the fact that these are really good prices. Heat added.

No mate, Revolut doesn’t work on US store

Can you use revolut on the US store since pcgamesupply don't do good offers on codes anymore!

We didn't get one last year either but we had a massive summer vr sale & the us did not.

So they've now got the UK sale... when do we get the PSVR sale?

(lol) With a bit of fast forwarding I got a bit further along. Pretty sure I missed plenty of important information though (lol)

I’d say 30 covers the tutorial (lol)

Awesome thanks for the comments. Will check it out!

It's not repetitive at all, it's just a linear game and you follow a set story, where you have options to customize your character and decide what you'll do with your time within the segments of the game but main plot points will remain the same no matter what. I would give it a go, as I plummed into second playthrough immediately after my first one to correct my mistakes and loved it as well. + The story is really good.

I didn’t find it repetitive, it’s an amazing game. Just there are extended portions of the game where you aren’t in control as such and has a lot of talking so you can’t play for 10 mins, save and continue later. I really recommend it to anyone though.

I have bought a second one from Japan and am currently buying memory cards when I can afford one. Good point about activating it as I hadn't thought about that!

At some point in the not-too-distant future, Sony will stop processing Vita activations so if you have a problem and need to factory-reset, replace the board or even just buy another, you won't be able to play your store-bought games, whether you backed them up or not! I bought a 2nd Vita as insurance against this (embarrassed) (nerd) It is good practice to back up your games though - not only does it protect you from the inevitable PSN ghosting but it's faster than downloading when juggling your games collection and it protects against store de-listing (Lumines, Shinobido 2, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Virtua Tennis 4, Superfrog, etc).

Easy enough process although it takes a bit of time. They can also be downloaded onto a PS3.

I didn't even know that was possible (shock). I must do the same.

Oh boy. Good luck with that, haha! It’s brilliant. I’m actually playing through Persona 4: Dancing All Night right now, and it’s making me want to go back for a New Game+.

Hitman GOTY £19.99 Cracking deal this. Persona 5 Ultimate £20.99 for ps+ members. (y)

Anyone watching the anime alongside playing the game it as well?

heat - couldn't resist at that price - I'm playing Persona 4 Golden on the Vita like it but not finished it Do I need to finish 4 before 5 to get the most out of it?

Mainly skins and OST's. Some new Personas that's about it as far as paid DLC. You don't really need all that DLC I bought a few separately instead which I like just saw them online on YouTube which to buy

can anyone honestly say it's worth getting the ultimate edition if i shift my disc to cex (£15) or ebay ? - is any of the DLC actual playable content or just skins ?

Cheapest I've seen it. And before you ask, it's just as good on PS3!

This was better (I remember it in the UK store, didn't realise at the time the only difference between ps3 and ps4 is max reolution which I'm not bothered about) as it was the ultimate version with all the DLC included, and was cheaper. I'll wait for it to drop in price again :{ (unicorn)

Currently playing through Persona 4 Golden on PS Vita and really enjoying it 😁

EU or UK both having same sales. So when I logged into UK website it was £11.99

debesis26: How good was this deal.. (cheeky) Heat since this is cheapest right now I don't remember this other deal. The link says the EU PSN store. Is the UK store separate than the EU one, or included?

To be honest I actually took the time to finish it last night some of the songs were so long and boring 😞💤

I also picked Makoto... I’ll take your word for it

Really annoyed about the digital only for Vita. Will be picking them up on PS4 instead, despite the fact rhythm games are much better suited to handhelds in my opinion

There's quiet a lot of dlc as well so just buy this when it's half price.

Big fan of Persona 5, but this really doesn't interest me. Watched Youtube videos of it and wasn't overly impressed, certainly not enough to buy it though. My fandom isn't that extreme... yet.

Cheers you saved me £75

Yeah the new ones really not like 4 It tried to bulk it out by saying play songs from the game we won’t animate it we’ll just play a cutscene from the game, made me play the credits for 10 minutes (annoyed) I was not amused or entertained. Not sure if 3 is better, just feel maybe they rushed to try get them both out or they’d just think it’d sell on it’s merit of P5 being so successful

Getting the two games plus the PS4 download for p4d , plus the ost and art book doesn't seem too bad for £75 if you count the games at possibly £20 each then £15 for the ost and book. It's a shame they didn't go for the full canon story mode like P4D though, that one kept me busy for around 30ish hours at least.

Sorry posted on another post Just to warn it terrible, I’d wait till it’s like £20, it’s like 8hrs content, easy platinum (which is till haven’t done as I can’t bring myself to play it) I got it from japan, persona 5 don’t get me wrong it my favourite game and I love persona 4 dancing. This one though the music isn’t great... actually extremely disappointing, there’s no story, and most of the character even my beloved Makoto just seem like they’re fighting the air instead of dancing. Super disappointing I was really hyped for it. Happy to take any questions

Guess again. Brand new from The Wonder Book bundle with the included Move controller. Had I bought it used, I would have been very happy with 30 months, considering its reputation for build quality.

I would say you would get on quite well with it. The actual combat is near identical to Final Fantasy so everyone is British about it patiently waiting in the queue for their turn to club someone around the head. However unlike the older FF games the fights are not random encounters you see a large enemy on the playing screen and when you make contact the fight then begins. Like FF13 or Eternal Sonata. You can choose to make use of a basic but does the job stealth mechanic to get a free set of hits in as well. But if you are caught off guard then the enemy gets a free turn. But there are also other variables to consider such as how the friendship confidant system can passively, at will and randomly affect the combat In terms of the story Persona loves its symbolism and Jungian psychology it is a bit on the nose at times but it adds a layer of depth to the narrative. Also Persona games in my view like to take the extra ordinary and apply it to the ordinary. So whereas many of the Final Fantasy games paint there worlds as mighty vivid kingdoms that could only exist in fiction, Persona seems to revel in the mundane and the same applies for its characters as well but that is what makes more relatable and easier to support. The early game is a bit heavy with tutorial and is padded out a but before you are thrown in to anything meaningful with the actual game mechanics, but when you get past that, there is a lot of game to play.

Combat is pretty similar. But as said above a little more pokemon esque than final fantasy i.e you collect different personas/monsters that have different abilities. But yes, combat is turn based and much in the same likeness of older FF titles.

I feel you on this

Great stuff, I've had a bit of frustration with Argos as they let me reserve this game twice and when I went in on the date specified by them all i got was a look of confusion., no stock and no reservation in their system. I've made sure to order from a local store that has stock and can collect today but thought i'd put it out there for those that can't get to a store with stock available now as might save you the same frustration

baby baby

ooh yeah, parapowpow parapowpow

Maybe we should form a support group and campaign outside of playstation UK headquarters

Glad to hear I'm not the only one waiting for a p3p discount...

The summary I understand is whilst fes has full environmental movement , p3p is presented more like a visual novel, removed anime cutscenes but full control in dungeons. Coming off playing FES years ago, p3p is better to revisit as its just quicker to play through as your not running around the same out of dungeon environments so its better paced in that regard

Is the ultimate edition worth it?

It's a great game to chip away at. An hour here and there and then devote 4 or 5 hours to a dungeon. Repeat until bored/dead.

Don't forget the deal that's on HotUKDeals for £25 PSN credit for £21

Likewise :-( just spent 200! Hours in MHW so switched to GoW, but hoping this will be next - played first hour and it really reminds me of living in Japan; they really nailed the aesthetic (I mean doh, Japanese developer, but still it’s such a cool style)

I want my student days back again. Maybe then I could clear some of backlog and have a crack at games like this......yes, this is in my backlog.

Just to add... looking at a popular FB gaming group. Someone got Persona 5 from Argos and it looks like a resealed game with no Sony tearstrip... worth checking as it appears Argos potentially reseal returned games... I don’t think this is right if true.

Explore lots, try new things, and follow your heart. Have no regrets - there is always New Game+ if you want to get more of the completion

Thanks for the detailed feedback - I collected my copy yesterday and look forward to playing this since watching Hollie and Rob from PlayStation Access being very very excited for its launch about a year ago but was never sure if it was one for me.... we’ll soon find out (highfive)

The plot is entirely self contained, you don't need to know anything else about the other games in the series (there are some subtle Easter eggs that refer to Persona 4). In terms of difficulty this is one of the easiest games produced by the company (who admittedly produce some extremely tough RPGs). The most complex mechanics involve merging personas but generally that's trial and error and you quickly learn what abilities you need and what weaknesses/strengths they need. Only thing to be aware of is that although it isn't difficult is can be unforgiving, you NEED to save at every save point you come across. Towards the end of the game it can be 40 minutes between save points and it's possible for you to get in a fight where every enemy hits the main character before you can act, resulting in an instant, unavoidable game over (you can continue for boss battles but dying to regular enemies is a game over).

Overrated but definitely worth a play. Just lower your expectations a notch so you can enjoy the experience more. 4/5 if you're a casual fan of anything RPG or Japanese. £24 is a very good price for the amount of gameplay you'll get out of it.
