All Persona Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2018
There's quiet a lot of dlc as well so just buy this when it's half price.
Big fan of Persona 5, but this really doesn't interest me. Watched Youtube videos of it and wasn't overly impressed, certainly not enough to buy it though. My fandom isn't that extreme... yet.
I'm surprised at this too, abit of a cash grab by Atlus/Sega... I personally would like them to make an action adventure game, not necessarily persona.
Yeap I have 5 it’s like 8 hours content and is a pretty bad game
Yeah it is, it’s like a room search thing I’ve not done it yet
I mean don’t not buy it on my account 😝
Cheers you saved me £75
Yeah the new ones really not like 4 It tried to bulk it out by saying play songs from the game we won’t animate it we’ll just play a cutscene from the game, made me play the credits for 10 minutes (annoyed) I was not amused or entertained. Not sure if 3 is better, just feel maybe they rushed to try get them both out or they’d just think it’d sell on it’s merit of P5 being so successful
Getting the two games plus the PS4 download for p4d , plus the ost and art book doesn't seem too bad for £75 if you count the games at possibly £20 each then £15 for the ost and book. It's a shame they didn't go for the full canon story mode like P4D though, that one kept me busy for around 30ish hours at least.
Sorry posted on another post Just to warn it terrible, I’d wait till it’s like £20, it’s like 8hrs content, easy platinum (which is till haven’t done as I can’t bring myself to play it) I got it from japan, persona 5 don’t get me wrong it my favourite game and I love persona 4 dancing. This one though the music isn’t great... actually extremely disappointing, there’s no story, and most of the character even my beloved Makoto just seem like they’re fighting the air instead of dancing. Super disappointing I was really hyped for it. Happy to take any questions
I enjoyed this but the first 40 hours felt like I was playing the longest tutorial of all time.
The game is well worth it. I'm 140 hours into it on the last level.
Most stores around Southport area have in stock or available this afternoon/tomorrow
In stock at wembley
Guess again. Brand new from Amazon.co.uk. The Wonder Book bundle with the included Move controller. Had I bought it used, I would have been very happy with 30 months, considering its reputation for build quality.
An amazing game which I have completed more times than I can count. A really influential and moving story and I advise gamers check this title out, you won’t be disappointed. Heat from me!
30 month old PS3? Guess you bought it used off someone that knew it showed signs of dying so they sold it before it dies on them
I've played it through on PS3. It's fine.
That would have been my first guess, but I figured you’d have done that haha. Luckily it’s an easy if overly long boss (lol)
Fishing was easy and cooking was even easier! Adamatoise.... just need 45 mins of “me” time to kill it (lol)
Fishing or cooking trophy? (lol)
Not played it not my kind of thing tbh. I didn’t like the old ones either
Better than God of War?? (annoyed)
three hours in this game, so impressed by the unique art style and intriguing story
90+ hours for me, second Persona game I played and can recomend ;-)
Thanks for the heads up. Ordered and picked up a copy yesterday. Used Topcashbacks £2.50 Bank Holiday bonus to make it even cheaper.
I would say you would get on quite well with it. The actual combat is near identical to Final Fantasy so everyone is British about it patiently waiting in the queue for their turn to club someone around the head. However unlike the older FF games the fights are not random encounters you see a large enemy on the playing screen and when you make contact the fight then begins. Like FF13 or Eternal Sonata. You can choose to make use of a basic but does the job stealth mechanic to get a free set of hits in as well. But if you are caught off guard then the enemy gets a free turn. But there are also other variables to consider such as how the friendship confidant system can passively, at will and randomly affect the combat In terms of the story Persona loves its symbolism and Jungian psychology it is a bit on the nose at times but it adds a layer of depth to the narrative. Also Persona games in my view like to take the extra ordinary and apply it to the ordinary. So whereas many of the Final Fantasy games paint there worlds as mighty vivid kingdoms that could only exist in fiction, Persona seems to revel in the mundane and the same applies for its characters as well but that is what makes more relatable and easier to support. The early game is a bit heavy with tutorial and is padded out a but before you are thrown in to anything meaningful with the actual game mechanics, but when you get past that, there is a lot of game to play.
Combat is pretty similar. But as said above a little more pokemon esque than final fantasy i.e you collect different personas/monsters that have different abilities. But yes, combat is turn based and much in the same likeness of older FF titles.
I feel you on this
Great stuff, I've had a bit of frustration with Argos as they let me reserve this game twice and when I went in on the date specified by them all i got was a look of confusion., no stock and no reservation in their system. I've made sure to order from a local store that has stock and can collect today but thought i'd put it out there for those that can't get to a store with stock available now as might save you the same frustration
ooh yeah, parapowpow parapowpow
Maybe we should form a support group and campaign outside of playstation UK headquarters
Glad to hear I'm not the only one waiting for a p3p discount...
The summary I understand is whilst fes has full environmental movement , p3p is presented more like a visual novel, removed anime cutscenes but full control in dungeons. Coming off playing FES years ago, p3p is better to revisit as its just quicker to play through as your not running around the same out of dungeon environments so its better paced in that regard
Is the ultimate edition worth it?
It's a great game to chip away at. An hour here and there and then devote 4 or 5 hours to a dungeon. Repeat until bored/dead.
Don't forget the deal that's on HotUKDeals for £25 PSN credit for £21
Likewise :-( just spent 200! Hours in MHW so switched to GoW, but hoping this will be next - played first hour and it really reminds me of living in Japan; they really nailed the aesthetic (I mean doh, Japanese developer, but still it’s such a cool style)
I want my student days back again. Maybe then I could clear some of backlog and have a crack at games like this......yes, this is in my backlog.
Just sent you a pm, I’ll take one!
Bit late in the day but PM me if anyone wants a 20% off code (expires today!). I have 2.
I looked and saw that madden NFL 18 is on sale on us store, and also the add on for the g.o.a.t content as well, I couldn't see if it was on offer with the PS+ but does anyone know if I bought the add on content would it work when I switch back to my UK account?
For those who have an Indonesian PSN/PS Plus account the Big In Japan Sale is also available there, some titles will certainly be cheaper.
Cheers for this mate!
Never is around me either. Until the offer finishes anyway
Not available in any of my 5 nearest stores as is ALWAYS the case when Argos have it on offer. I bought it from Tesco late last year after getting fed up of waiting for stock
It's not in stock near you but it is in lots of places. You are quite right thanks :)
Brilliant game. 60 hours in and still scratching the surface.
There's one at an Argos in Colne, if that helps anyone. Sure other places too...just a quick look.
Thanks mate. I'll take a look, although I presume the Japanese version it will be way more expensive.
If you can, import the japanese version. It's at a higher quality and has extra pages.
Just to add... looking at a popular FB gaming group. Someone got Persona 5 from Argos and it looks like a resealed game with no Sony tearstrip... worth checking as it appears Argos potentially reseal returned games... I don’t think this is right if true.
Explore lots, try new things, and follow your heart. Have no regrets - there is always New Game+ if you want to get more of the completion
Thanks for the detailed feedback - I collected my copy yesterday and look forward to playing this since watching Hollie and Rob from PlayStation Access being very very excited for its launch about a year ago but was never sure if it was one for me.... we’ll soon find out (highfive)
The plot is entirely self contained, you don't need to know anything else about the other games in the series (there are some subtle Easter eggs that refer to Persona 4). In terms of difficulty this is one of the easiest games produced by the company (who admittedly produce some extremely tough RPGs). The most complex mechanics involve merging personas but generally that's trial and error and you quickly learn what abilities you need and what weaknesses/strengths they need. Only thing to be aware of is that although it isn't difficult is can be unforgiving, you NEED to save at every save point you come across. Towards the end of the game it can be 40 minutes between save points and it's possible for you to get in a fight where every enemy hits the main character before you can act, resulting in an instant, unavoidable game over (you can continue for boss battles but dying to regular enemies is a game over).
Overrated but definitely worth a play. Just lower your expectations a notch so you can enjoy the experience more. 4/5 if you're a casual fan of anything RPG or Japanese. £24 is a very good price for the amount of gameplay you'll get out of it.
Just checked this deal last night and was very surprised that they actually had stock in my local Argos so bought and picked it up today. Thanks OP, if I could give heat twice I would, easily the best price around for this great game.
Finally managed to get this deal a few days ago after checking my local store daily, best price for sure since practically everywhere else has it at RRP still.
NOW AVAILABLE TO RESERVE AND COLLECT IN LOADS OF STORES!!! I finally picked up my copy from Argos Neath after months of trying to source a copy! Got a spare reservation code for Morfa Swansea if anyone wants...
Wow. This is the First time I have actually seen a persona 5 deal in stock at any Argos store in a 200 mile radius of me. Heat for that alone.
Thanks matey!!!! I've got a copy turning up in a few days at my local
I'm in that boat too... So much so I need to build a shelf (lol)
I blame this game for a lot of things! I blame it for 90 hours worth of game time. I blame it for its value for money. I blame it for genuine "Oh shit, no way moments" throughout the story. I also blame it for being the game which open the doors into an expensive habit of buying anime films and purchasing anything Japanese to fill the void left by this game when I completed it. In all seriousness though, its good value for money, great story which has few swerves and I'm thankful I gave this a try because in my time of trying to fill the void, instead of going to play Persona 4 Golden I opted t play Yakuza 0 and f*** me ladies and gents but that is also a gem
You'd be missing the point of this website tbh ;)
I'd vote hot if it was £100
I bought my PS3 version for £35 and I regret nothing.
None in my local store (Exeter) :(
I brought one of these in pink at Christmas time for £20 that im still using. I previously had the Vitality so to compare this one is much better. Thanks Lucky_Taz
Vitality only 2D - dentist would recommend 3D like this one. Li-ion charge should last around 2 weeks (at 2min twice a day). If it isn't doing that just contact Oral B via their website (web chat is good) and I think they'll sort you out.
Geese all gone!
Is this going to be a wild goose chase
Agree with the above comments, but a fantastic price for a beautifully created game. Like many above, I’ve lost over a week of my life to this game. Not many games manage that! <3
WOW this should be more money.. too too cheap! :D
Ah right lol, yeah my memory is terrible so it could well have been :).
Yeah somebody pointed it out to me the other day (it may have been you) so I've put an alert on quite a few things since
You can use psprices.com to check the price history of any PSN game, as well as set up email alerts for the next time a particular game goes on sale.
Just picked up my last one, paid roughly £11 per copy using the £20 Argos vouchers for the payg sims. I hate having Argos vouchers so this is a good use for them.
grabbed a copy in Cricklewood NW2, cheers
Out of stock in South Wales 🙃
None of the 15 or so Argos stores within 20 miles of me has had stock of this since before Christmas but bizarrely the checker says you can pick it up in a couple of Sainsbury’s shops. They must be including the Sainsbury’s store stock in their stock as well now Anyway I bought it for $25 on the US PSN when it was on sale a few weeks back and still haven’t played it.
Exacty I said that an hour ago :D I have copies in my local Argos, and not even tempted to buy it for myself. :)
Yeah I saw that but I'm probably not going to pick it up. I think its just not worth it for me personally since I've played it. I think I will youtube what happens with that extra character.
Off topic but Catherine is going to be released on PS vita too, if you’ve got one?
Yeah that's true i think but I don't have a PS3 unfortunately and actually for me PS Now has never been a problem since i have decent internet and played games which weren't affected by input lag. I saw catherine on PS now and decided to use the free 14 day trial for that which was nice.
Wasnt Catherine on ps+ previously? PSNOW is terrible
