This is not that special compared to others out there. Worth looking on Amazon etc for a smoother one. Also people don't know about 3 types. Blanco Anejo and Reposado. Quite different tastes but essentially all Tequilas.

Seanspeed

Anything that's real tequila(100% agave) is just fine being drank straight. A cold cube(not real ice) is nice if the tequila is warm. And no, no salt or lime. That's for shots to drown the taste and harshness of hardlining a liquor, nothing more. Take small sips. Like you're drinking a very hot coffee. Let it roll over your tongue to really grasp the flavor. It's incredibly crisp and flavorful. It wont make you mad and crazy like the stereotype is. That's for the dumb party folks who dont know about tequila and take constant shots of that mixto crap(many cheap 'tequilas' are like 51% tequila, 49% garbage grain alcohol). The real stuff is a very refined and tasty drink.

Hastie86

TBH I’ve never really tried nice tequila. Just rotten stuff at bars when wasted. How would you recommend drinking this? Straight, with ice, mixed? Keep in mind that a 25ml shot is really just a big sip ;) I’m assuming nice tequila doesn’t require the salt and lime to disguise how awful it is? Never understood that.

Seanspeed

If you're taking shots, you might as well just buy some cheap mixto crap like Jose Especial. Good tequila is meant to be enjoyed, not just a means to an end. Seriously, it's no different than whiskey. The most misunderstood and overabused liquor. It's coming up to summer months where real, 100% tequila(like Patron here) really shines most. Bright, refreshing, citrusy. Perfect summer drink.

This is gorgeous tequila / I’ll be on the hunt tomorrow

The sizing is confusing on this. the amazon description is for 700? but the pic shows a 750m bottlel. There's another size that says 50? but the pic is a 350ml bottle.

These are £26.38 in Costco, which was the cheapest I'd seen it. Heat 🔥

Same RRP back in 2013 but was available for £18.88. Man, I miss when these festive deals used to be properly good. Still a decent price though, so heat added.

This tequila is mentioned in a US article "Best Tequilas Under $30", and offers more information (if you're curious) http://tastetequila.com/2014/the-best-tequilas-for-under-30/ Olmeca Altos Plata This brand started in the UK, and eventually made its way to the USA. Created by a pair of well-known bartenders, it was designed for use in cocktails, and it also tastes great straight, all while not breaking the bank. (Tequila is more expensive in Europe than it is in the USA.) It was a tall order, but they managed to create exactly that. Many tequila aficionados love the complexity and depth that comes with tahona-crushed products (such as Fortaleza, Suerte, and Roca Patron), but these products are usually priced higher because the production method is slow and costly. Olmeca Altos is made up of 50% tahona-crushed agave, and 50% roller mill. During the 2014 Tequila Challenge blind tasting events, Olmeca Altos Plata received the overall highest scores in San Francisco. In Seattle, Olmeca Altos Reposado was the second highest scoring tequila out of six, and every other tequila in consideration was at least double the price. You can find Olmeca Altos Plata and Reposado for around $25 for a 750ml bottle. I’ve spent a good amount of time drinking this. Here are my score and tasting notes from the Tequila Matchmaker app: Olmeca Altos Plata: 89/100 “Faint aroma of tobacco and slight musty leaves, with a very delicious sweet finish. For the price, you can’t beat this blanco. Feels fantastic in the mouth, oily and substantial. How the hell did they make such a good tequila at this low price?” Another review: https://goodspiritsnews.wordpress.com/2012/10/28/gsn-review-olmeca-altos-tequila/ Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila (80 proof) Visual: Perfectly clear. Nose: Fresh cut agave, sweet rock candy, herbaceous spice with a hint of green pepper. Taste: Bright, fresh and almost effervescent with tinges of candied ginger. Pepper comes through immediately, but soon fades to agave and mint. Finish: Long and with a tannic clarity that is unusual for a young tequila. At the far end of the spectrum lies a caramel finish. Overall: Perfect for shots, Margaritas, Frostbite cocktails, what have you. Very versatile and classy. GSN Rating: A

From https://www.thespiritsbusiness.com/2014/08/don-good-tequila-co-launches-new-brand/ ...Its inaugural brand La Hora Azul, meaning The Blue Hour, comes in three vartiants: Pure Spirit (blanco), Experience the One (Reposado), aged for one year, and The Premier Highland Tequila (Anejo), which is aged for up to three years. All three variants of the brand are contained in hand-blown bottles featuring a metal serpent design. “La Hora Azul Tequila is proud of its Mexican heritage and acknowledges the lineage of its past, but also lives in the moment as a contemporary brand,” said Lex Duy, product design and brand development manager at the Don Good Tequila Company. “[The bottles] were designed to be a prestigious, top-and front-of-shelf brand that stands above all others in the tequila category. This is truly an integration of spirits and fashion creativity.” La Hora Azul brand...will be launched in the US in September 2014, and the Caribbean in October 2014. From http://www.nightclub.com/products/don-good-tequila-company-announces-launch-first-super-premium-tequila-brand LA HORA AZUL—BLUE HOUR — From the Centre of the Moon is made for celebrating and to be celebrated, available in three official genres, based on aging process: Pure Spirit — Blanco: Unkissed by the barrel, the Blanco tequila represents the freshest and purest essence of the Blue Agave. It is exquisitely smooth, delicate hints of sweet agave, citrus and earthy peppers. The Premier Highland Tequila — Añejo: The Blue Agave has already matured in the fields for nearly 10 years. Aged for up to three additional years in smoked and charred Kentucky barrels, the Añejo tequila boasts deep golden hues and intense, smoky flavors, which excites the palate to deliver an unrivalled experience. Experience The One — Reposado: The immediate warmth of its silken body radiates through its luminous golden hues. The Reposado tequila’s aromatic hints of vanilla, caramel and honey invite you in. Lightly touched with soft and gentle hints of spice that flow down the tongue and break in waves of caramel and fresh fruit, and boasting a brilliant hue from nearly a year in the barrel. Drinks21 also sell the La Hora Azul - Blue Hour Tequila Añejo "The Premier Highland Tequila™" for £33 (Prime Delivery), though it was £27 in recent times: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hora-Azul-Blue-Tequila-Anejo/dp/B01LZ1YCJG/ Premium Mexican Tequila Aged between 12-36 months Charred in Bourbon barrels to create a smoky smooth taste Nutty richness and caramel aroma Naturally filtered and made using the freshest ingredients http://www.bluehourtequila.com/blue-hour-tequila/anejo/ And this seller also has La Hora Azul - Blue Hour Tequila Reposado "Experience The One™" for £32.50 + £1.75 P&P (not sure why they don't offer Prime), but again, not the cheapest price when it was £27 in the past https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hora-Azul-Blue-Tequila-Reposado/dp/B01LX3KWID/ Super premium Mexican tequila Aged between 6-12 months Features aromatic hints of vanilla and caramel Soft and gentle hints of spice flow down the tongue Naturally filtered and made using 100% natural ingredients http://www.bluehourtequila.com/blue-hour-tequila/reposado/
