Pretty pointless putting this in the newsletter when it’s expired and says it’s not available in the uk now. Waydago!
You shouldn't watch this for the plot as there isn't one, it's just a song and dance show about various cats singing about themselves. I enjoyed it when I saw it live though.
Only saw the trailer but that on it's own scarred me for life.
Couldn't agree more! TS Eliot must have been tripping on something when he wrote his poem on cats. As for Andrew Lloyd Webber who brought it on stage...well that's even worse! Or is it? Well, Love Never Dies, the sequel to Phantom of the Opera was broadcast during one of the lockdowns and for me that was worse. Would rather pay to watch Les Miserables than for this tosh.
This is just nonsensical madness. You'll come away from it wondering what the hell you just watched. If you have nothing else to do, watch it, but for christ sake never pay for it!
Yes I'm a proper scrooge me i don't support the arts me no not at all (y) but the Casuals also need support its the fat cats behind the scenes that are still on full pay at some theatres yes FULL pay not even furloughed that are the real Scrooges that are not supporting their most valued and often minimum waged staff yes some do it for the love of the job but some actually pay bills or have to pay bills with the wages they get and often take casual jobs to fit round the free child care on an evening by their partners who work day shifts not everyone can do full time work and not everyone can volunteer for free and I'm going to leave this conversation here (y)
Yeah and also note your own comments "MOST DIDN'T even get furloughed" which is totally off the mark. Many of the theatre staff you speak of at this theatre are 'Friends of the Grand' who volunteer for free as this Theatre has battled against closure more than once. https://www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk/join-and-support-us/how-to-support-us Maybe make a charitable donation yourself and I'll let you use my pass. You wouldn't want to be labelled an armchair Scrooge now would you?
note the use of the word most being furloughed these like many other theatre staff will be in-house / back of house/ stage door box office not the Casuals ie ushers or security or the cleaners or merchandise & programme sellers and probably some tech crew and dressers if you read the whole article they will those that got furlough got it either until end of August or end of October then redundancy a lot of theatre venues as is this one in Blackpool are dependent on charitable donations and ticket and concession sales
the ushers and other casual staff many that have worked at these venues for years will not get any of these proceeds the actors and actresses don't work for free The theatre industry has taken a massive loss with covid its one of the many businesses that haven't really recovered along with indoor music and event venues
It isn't down to the theatre. The rules are the rules . Do you honestly think they WANT to stay closed??? By the way, I'm an actor and have worked at the grand on numerous occasions. I wish Shaun and all his team the very best.

Saw the show tonight before seeing this post. Sweet, snarky, colourful, with excellent singing. A shame it had to close during previews. Bravo to the National for making it free (donations gladly accepted for the huge multitudes of artists and techs who are seriously struggling).
What a bunch of Scrooges (lol) (lol)
Yeah I got a warning!
That's more Laurel & Hardy or Sykes & Cooper (The Plank)
Did the mods delete that about Dick? Man they're so boring. It's a legitimate short form of Richard (lol) (lol)
Camt believe Steven Spielberg has remade this. Why remake things that dont need remaking.
That is a must buy for me. I think it should look magnificent in 4K.
And... opening the music app got a free 3 month Apple Music subscription even though I've had a trial before (y) So folks check Apple Music - it'll be a banner at the top. Two months with Shazam. Great movie, great price.
If you haven’t yet watched it, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to request a refund

Watch - The Railway Children - FULL SHOW | The Shows Must Go OnFREE£0.01YouTube Deals
The Railway Children - FULL SHOW | The Shows Must Go On Free for 48 hours only
We are planning to watch it as a family although we are 100 miles apart at the same time and pretend we are at the theatre ... it will be easier to eat all the choccies rather than hiding them in a huge handbag. Main advantage no queues for loos at interval time :D
Is it me, or does this look like a pony Sugababes album?
It would be nice to see more productions and shows trying this. I imagine they'll be expecting a good portion of people just to only pay the quid for the ticket but hopefully they'll get a nice surprise.
Brilliant play. Everyone should see it and pay anything you can. Great cast and crew.
I agree, I am glad they are sharing any funds with all members of the team not just front of house. :D
