2 x 2.5kg Whey Protein for £50 @ Bulk Powders

Posted 31st MayPosted 31st May
Deal of the day at Bulk Powders. Qualifies for the free delivery over £49.

Don't think this works any more.. 2 x 2.5kg comes up as £95.98 minus 30% if you use the tier1 voucher

Switched from myprotein to bulkpowders recently - difference was night and day. Still yet to evolve into 80s Arnie. Pound for pound an expensive habit! Taking up smoking would be far cheaper

£20 for 2 x 1kg is a standard price in the member perks section on MyProtein.

Where exactly? Right now please show us where is selling protein at that price that makes this a bad deal. Probably can’t.

Apart from the Joe Wicks stuff last year I can't see it's been £5 a kilo ever on here. Fingers crossed aye

Eating more than two eggs a day is not unhealthy, try telling this to every pro bodybuilder out there. One tin of mackerel in sauce is around 60p from a budget supermarket. I’ll leave you too it. Good luck ;)

From what I know, an egg it's about 6g of protein.. I need something like a 20g extra each day. Fish is expensive, and from what I know, eating more then 2 eggs each day it's not healthy.. this is a bit complex for me haha. But yeah, I'll try to put more effort in my diet, thanks! :)

The bars are expensive and also contain a lot sugar etc. I’d stay clear of those. Can’t go wrong with eggs... throw 5 eggs into your diet. Scrambled eggs, cheap as hell, great protein and taste good. Or a tin of mackerel with your lunch.. high protein, good fats and again very cheap. Some of the cheap protein have not so much protein content. You need to spend more to get high content protein powder which will be around 80p-£1 per serving. You can buy 15 eggs for around £1.20 (3 servings)

Ohh, I'm sorry about that! Yeah the thing that they don't mix well with water isn't great, you're right. :/ I don't do workouts, but I was looking to buy something to just increase my daily intake of proteins because often I don't even reach my daily recommended protein intake, and I often feel tired. That's why I was looking for something cheap, and protein bars are very expensive. Do you have any suggestion I could use in my case? Or maybe it's better to not take proteins if i don't do workouts? Thank you, sorry if I ask too many things. :)

I heave tried bulk powders protein twice and they taste foul, they don’t mix at all. You’re left with a water on the bottom and a huge frothy top (that doesn’t settle). I can txke most protein just to get it down but this brand is impossible to drink or eat. Even tried mixing it in with my oats in the morning but the taste made me gag. Had to bin 2.5kg... honestly stay away from this brand. If you want a cheap tasty brand try matrix. I have a free delivery code for life if you use their own website.

Thanks. I started a year ago, at 42 I'd not run since high school but I needed a way to clear my head and a friend recommended it. The alcohol cut back is more recent but sorely needed, and I feel in better shape than when in my 20s. Started on the couch to 5k and naturally progressed from there, but I'm my own worst enemy as I push past my abilities and injure myself far too often. TBH though with a desk job it gives me some much needed activity, this lock down has stopped me hiking so rnning is the only time I leave the house!

You can do that with a RCT. E.g. randomise some people to take milk with protein powder and others to take milk with fake protein power. See who does best... Some evidence extra protein has some benefits when people are working out, but the research around this isn't great. Lots of studies showing that if you give some college students protein powder while getting them to start working out they gain muscle (which of course they do, but who knows how useful the protein powder is).

It would be interesting to see what progress I would have made without taking on additional protein through protein shakes but I guess there is no way you could really do it.

Sounds like you're making good progress! Cutting back on drinking and doing more exercise will be great for getting in shape, and milk is a good post-run drink :) That's a good price for gels, too! The protein powder might be helping too, but hard to know with these things. A lot depends what your diet is generally like. If your diet is lacking protein, can you just eat a little more of it? Even if you want a scoop of protein powder post workout, it's good to get nutrition from whole foods when you can

Thanks, thats a really interesting article! I'm currently drinking a double dose of protein shake after a run, so basically a pint of milk with that powder in, but this certainly looks cheaper. I only started on the protein stuff as a mate analysed my diet and said I'm seriously under in protein and carbs (but not sugar unfortunately), I'm certainly seeing improvements but maybe thats just the milk..... As for the other stuff, I got a load of SiS gels for 10p each so use one if going above 5k (injured myself within a month of getting them, taken 4 months to recover. In fact today was my fist 10k this year). I have a limit of a quid a run, for pre/during/post. It's meant to be a hobby not a lifestyle, I started as a way to clear my head after work and to quit drinking so excessively.

Copy and paste from a discussion Hi there I'll recommend you some ones which aren't bad, not ran by people who have bad morals, no history of amino spiking etc. So if you want a cheap whey with flavourings that are still decent then i recommended per4m whey 2.1KG elitesuppsuk.co.uk/brand/per4m/per4m-whey-protein/ If you want a premium isolate with high end flavourings then i recommended iso yummy sports. Flavoured by a flavour house that supplies the ice cream industry. (tastes ridiculously good) cardiffsportsnutrition.co.uk/products/yummy-sports-iso-protein?variant=15870513020994 If you want very high end then i recommended this t-nutrition.com/products/strom-wheymax-v-velociwhey Strom WheyMax-V VelociWhey is a revolutionary protein comprising 80% whey and 20% casein and 2.4G of patented velocitol per 30g serving Velositol increases muscle protein synthesis significantly making 25g of protein have the same muscle protein synthesis affect as 35-40g. So 1 scoop is fine. Custard Cream flavour is nicer than anything I've had before. I haven't tried it myself but the new applied nutrition Isolate, the what's effectively is a crunchie flavour is meant to be selling pretty quick atm. MuscleSport Lean Whey Revolution unicorn is interesting, has marshmallows inside that look like unicorns lol. Has extra L-Carnitine, CLA, and MCTs.

So which do you rate the best and why? Genuinely interested, I've pretty much always used Myprotein and had decent progress.

And as I stated, I’ve ordered from MP for many years with absolutely no issue at all so clearly there are some happy customers out there but I don’t feel the need to comment on every deal about an order I had 5 years ago that went well.

I've seen independently paid for lab results that have come back much lower than 80% which is fine, but when it's lower than 70% on some occasions it raises a few questions. LabDoor have a questionable history within the the supplement history, there was something from them claiming myprotein had traces of what i roughly remember was "dangerous" metals yet this disappeared. Also very unusual for it to be 100% smack on. My protiein is like tesco petrol, its whatever the cheapest barrel is, The quality is up and down like a yoyo.

It would affect the company rep and that particular order. It shouldn’t affect every future deal anybody posts, as a previous complaint on an order has no relevance. Many people, including myself, have ordered from MP for years with no issue.

May sound like an idiot but what’s the difference between this and the gold standard whey, aside from the grams on protein per serving? This is quite abit cheaper to the normal gold standard why I buy from optimum nutrition. Thanks

The level of protein in some of the products was found insufficient to make the health claim "protein contributes to the growth of muscle mass" or the nutrition claim "source of protein"

Heat given. Good price. I've used them in the past. WIll use them in the future. Personally I tend to purchase from Bulk Powders or Protein Works.

Had a quick read of the article andI didn't pick that up from it. They got a wrap on the knuckles from trading standards for basically saying 'protein contributes to significant muscle gain'

I’ve never heard anything bad about Bulk Powders. Tastes far better than Myprotein.

Maybe because BP have a history of selling very poor quality products?
