Got a similar deal in July except BT sports was added later by BT on their own at no extra cost to me but as a mobile app. Then BT messed up my billing therefore got a bonus from them for not having to pay anything for 2 months as compensation. Good deal OP.

19DembaBa19

I didn't ask for it since I have signed up this month, I will show you a bill when it's generated

Anon32

Do you have proof? Also I could use it to negotiate down so many thanks

Anon32

So you got the free upgrade mine are around 35mb but thats good enough for streaming etc... hopefully prices will rise again and i can get the free upgrade and renew. Not bothered about BT sport as they losing rights now. But if they phone back and offer half price or less I will take it

19DembaBa19

I got it for £19.99 so this isn't a great deal, with anytime calls included

Leaflet just says to visit plus.net/BTsport1 or call 08005871905. Offer ends 2nd December.

I had a live chat earlier and I was told that I will be getting it for £1 for the first six month then it will be £5 , I said ok lets go for it.....after few minuts later I receievd an email saying its £2.50 for the first 6 months, then £5 thereafter .......so I decided to call them to cancel my order , but there was a lovely lady on the other end apologised to me and credited £15 back in to my account .....so I am getting 6 month for free.........happy days op....one thing she said was it was not offered from plus net and she said it was from Hotukdeals.....not sure why she said that. (Thank you very much for getting in touch with us. Following our conversation, I am sorry about the about the 1.00 per month offer you had for BT sport app but it was not through plusnet. I have offered you credit you the amount of 10.00 as a gesture of good will for the inconvenience. In addition, I have credit credit the amount of 5.00 against you next bill to cover the cost of the price you have been promised. Thank you for your telephone call today and it was a pleasure in talking to you.)

moh223

Yes, there seems to be a problem with that link on the leaflet. I've sent them a message via Twitter help. I guess the 2nd best option is to ring up and get the deal.

Immoraliste

I've been using the BT Sport app (via BT, then Plusnet) to directly cast from phone to TV (Android OS) for at least 18 months, and it's always been possible to cast in HD. If that weren't possible, I wouldn't pay for it.

tammyy

Mine also says £1 for first 3 months then £5 , but when I clicked on that its says the page is not found........

tuckeral

Can confirm I have BT Sport app subscription through plusnet too and casting works ok from phone to Chromecast. However, if casting you have to opt for SD stream. Instead if watching on Windows 10 app you can stream in HD (so if you have HDMI out on a win10 laptop you're better off connecting that to your TV to watch it). On the HD stream you can also do camera angles changes and other features (but to be honest I usually just cast for convenience). It's a shame it's restricted like this and the fact the BT Sport app is not built in to the TV like many other apps. But for £5/month I've stuck with it. Could, fairly easily, be so much better though!

Pixel or Samsung's S series is gold standard imo, but I wouldn't pay this kind of money for a used phone. Closer to the £200 line you've got Nokia 8 with similar specs, better value for money. If you want to spend £300-350, I might seek something like Huawei Mate10, P20/Pro, Pixel 2, S8, Note 8, S9, LG G7 or the like, they'll get to that price eventually - watch out for flagships on Black Friday

weenshukd

Not really worth doing that. A 4GB sim only is around £8 per month. £8 x 24 = £192 £192 + £349.99 = £541.99 Over 24 months = £22.58 So slightly more expensive and you have to shell out for the phone upfront. You need to work it out over 24 months cost wise to make it comparable. There’s no point working it out on a less time because you can cancel the sim only whenever you want as then you have a phone that can’t do anything as there’s no service on it and you’ll lose money when you sell it. I’d just take the 2 year plan with no upfront cost. (Well I wouldn’t as I don’t want that phone. But as deals go it’s good in my opinion)

Sponnie

Looks a great deal for the dollar

Davejay81

Blah.. price and spec, I'd likely be best heading to CEX for their two year second hand warranties and grab a Pixel 2 XL.. surely? :/ Tell me I'm wrong if I am.. I'm a bit lost with all these new phones haha

To be fair I think this was for existing customers who threatened to leave! I was paying as an existing customer about £33 a month for the package you’ve listed and after about 5 calls managed to get them down to £25.99 though my broadband speed was up to 70mb. There was also a deal recently for your package for new customers at £29.99 though this may well have ended. ( think Bt Sport was being offered for free as part of the deal

Just thought id try this with champions league on & tried the link and it comes up at £13.99 per month, HD free for 3 months then £6.50 per month from month 4 still to expensive in my opinion. Once had it very cheap on a 30 day rolling contract with free HD which didnt make it that bad of a deal.

Seems to depend on who you get with EE, I had a similar negative experience last year... sometimes you get someone who's really not in the mood to get you a deal and will get a bit hard nosed about it and call your bluff about leaving etc, other times perhaps when they need to meet a retention target they'll "have a chat with the supervisor" (aka. mute the phone for a minute to make it look like they're doing something special just for you ;)) Liking this phone a lot and don't mind most of the Samsung "bloat", though I still ended up preferring the new Google Fit and uninstalling S Health, getting rid of the Bixby screen etc. As with others in the thread I don't like the trend towards that new tall form factor, it's annoying that apps always come up with that "full screen" option and often have bits cut off slightly at the edge of the screen if you use it etc. And the battery life is absolutely pants so I ended up getting a charging pad for my desk at work so it could make it through the day. But otherwise it's good and certainly worth the money at this deal price.
