Brand new cellophane sealed from the factory with all the usual protection plastic on the phone. The phone box is also inside a brown box from buymobile which also includes your sim. And that's all in a postal bag. I ordered mine just before 8pm and it was with me next lunchtime. I can't believe any company is advertising a new phone then sending out refurbished ones. That's just asking to be sued ( I know a little about contract law). It's more likely a scare tactic used in the retention dept of your current supplier. There is also insurance offered when you sign up of £1 or £3 extra a month ( depending on cover). I didn't take that up as my bank account has phone insurance as a perk but given the replacement cost and the rise in street thefts I'd suggest you look at that closely.

Ok, I understand now. Strange, I have this on my P9 Plus (Nougat) - perhaps they removed it in newer phones / OSes. Installing & enabling another launcher should take care of this - here's a recommended one, Nova Launcher: More choice here: Another launcher will also remove much of Huawei's EMUI (if you're not a fan), but this is mostly cosmetic only. They had this on previous Huawei phones, but it was a double-tap. I think this had to be removed as added security in newer Android OSes don't support this feature any more. I use this app (link below) to lock with a single tap (instead of using the side button) - the installed app's icon needs to be tapped once to shut-off the screen & lock it. But if used, one cannot then use the fingerprint sensor to unlock it the next time - you'll need to use your PIN / password / etc (this is another limitation imposed due to added security in newer Android OSes). When the side button is next used to shut-off the screen (or when the display shuts off by itself), you can use the fingerprint sensor to unlock it as usual. Lock It: Screen Off:

Can anyone who's ordered from Buymobiles please confirm that the phone is actually new and not refurbished?

*SIM not summary!

Anyone able to advise me on unlocking the P20 Pro? I got the other version which was posted on here and was already on EE so I've had to port out to a giffgaff PAYG summary to then port back into EE. It's coming up that I need an nck code to unlock the phone though. Do I just need to get a code online? I thought these came unlocked tbh so it's a bit of a pain!

Orderd my sim over the phone with a reference, and I've still not received notification of the amazon voucher via text yet. How long should it take?

Does anyone have the actual voucher code for the amazon offer? just been on the phone and they said to try again with the voucher code, but i dont have it as it was automatically on the site when I clicked the link?

is this still on, on the phone they said there's some glitch on the website, on the amazon voucher pdf from EE it says valid until 30th, but it seems expired :(

Has anyone actually got the gift card because i was told on the live chat that you can't get it until after the 14 day cooling period

Yeah they said the same for me. When you tried to use the code what did it say? I was told that I didn't qualify as I used another discount such as a Student discount, family discount or a Business perk discount ( even though I used none of these).

I remember when I got the OnePlus 5T brand new and a sim only deal from BT. Works out more than this! £500 for the phone and £17 a month. Works out more expensive over 2 years. The only thing I get is BT sport for a longer period but I got their Broadband anyways so doesn't matter to me. Hot deal!!

How? Phone on ebay is about £500 so still £292 left. And I can bet you wont pay off £500 to EE so it is still 33pm.

Went for the £22 a month , got turned down by EE don't know why they didn't give a reason , it can't be my credit score as that is above the UK average.

There's a deal out (which is only lukewarm) for a 30GB contract, which only works out about £50 more over 2 years. I think this is a bit of a ripoff considering the data. 1GB isn't enough for my 11 year old brother these days, it's like 3 YouTube videos.

Can't find that offer through the link. Link was going to Pro version, found correct link here: £40 Cash back with Quidco I recon the SIM is roughly a £5pm deal. This leaves the phone at £415. Include the cashback and that's £375 for the phone. And that's not including the sport/music (no use to me really, which is a shame).

Shouldn't the title mention the £175 up front?

Completely agree mate. Been using mine for nearly 2 weeks. Initially wasn't too great but I think the AI learnt my usage and now it's the best phone I've ever had. Beats the s9+ battery easily and performs just as well

Can't blame you there, tbh if the local infrastructure is fine you are likely to be ok, if not good luck with their customer service :)

I'm looking to move over to sky next for TV, but will be kind of forced to keep virgins Internet as the average standard broadband speed for my area with sky, bt talk talk etc is 1.5mb but virgin can deliver 300mb

You can see an electronic version of your contract in your online account with start date and length of contract, it also should of been emailed to you at the time of signing and possibly a paper copy sent through the post? They really dropped the ball not bringing the twilight on release, hopefully there will be good deals when they eventually release it in the UK...

Too heavy/bulky which makes it feel less like a flagship. The front glass is definitely not gorrilla glass and I already have a scratch on mine. The camera is buggy and seems to struggle with close ups. Also as good as the AI camera modes are, they switch on automatically which can be incredibly annoying when trying to take quick pics. As for the camera quality, if you know how to use the manual mode, you'll get great pictures; however the auto mode is nothing special and takes average looking pictures. I've also found that a lot of apps and web browsers crash and bug out on this phone. Chrome is especially buggy. Hopefully future updates will fix the issues.

I got this deal a couple weeks ago and I'm over the moon with this phone. Been with Apple since the 3GS (with a memorable venture into android in the form of the Note 2, which I sold after 2 weeks as it was sluggish and frustrating). The camera is fantastic, the phone in general is just great. My wife has an iPhone 8 plus 256GB and is jealous of the P20 Pro after she used it for a day.

Thanks for your response, and sorry for my late one (lol) I took the jump and got the p20 pro.. nova launcher causes a system failure for me though? Must be doing something wrong

I'm with 3 UK for another 6 months. Could I take up this offer, use the phone with the 3 UK sim, and then once my 3 contract ends, transfer the 3 UK number to my EE contract? Basically I want to keep my number. Is there a time limit on when you port your number over?

Haven't done it yet but will grab a Giffgaff or Three sim and port over then back again.

I have had a large number of mobiles, most recently the Oneplus 5T, and I have to say I like the P20 Pro best. I must admit I import my own wallpaper and use the Nova Launcher - which allows you to change just about everything about the screen setup. However, I use boring backgrounds for the App Drawers so I will let the experts comment on that.

To the people that own this phone.. what are the aesthetics like? All the pictures I’ve seen sport a very boring black background (the app pages) FYI, I’m making the jump from iOS to droid. Or should I be looking at a diff phone?

Film protectors are very thin so it's not so annoying that they don't cover all front glass. Not so noticeable at least. But Did I say film protectors cover all screen? But I know some kind of film protectors you can install edge to edge. Film is flexible, But glass isnt. My original one was as bad as others. :) Anyway If you know where I can get good tempered glass screen protector for p20 pro please let me know.

That's a bit rubbish then. I was quite optimistic about screen protectors for this :( The only 'fix' I've found for this sort of halo is to push olive oil under the gap with a cotton wool bud.

You suspect? Well you can suspect all you like, I got the phone on release and have tried without exaggerating about 15 screen protectors. All look like this. You can't even go by the reviews as I left a negative review for one on Amazon and the following morning there was around 20 positive reviews, then as days went by more and more negative reviews started appearing and after about two weeks Amazon removed all the clearly fake positive ones. basstop huawei p20 pro screen protector, (3 pack) hd tempered glass screen protector with [9h hardness] [crystal clear] [bubble-free installation] [scratch resist] for huawei p20 pro https//

There's no reason a film protector can reach the edge and a glass protector can't. Neither adheres if there's a curve. Suspect the ones you've ordered are just bad ones but hard to be sure. Just baffles me a bit as I've never had a situation where a plastic protector fits fine but a glass one doesn't :/

I meant tempered glass screen protector. Ordered three different and non of them covered whole screen and I don't like it . Film protectors like the one already installed, aren't that good. They are easy to scratch and not good in sunlight.

Having owned the S9 plus and the P20 pro I feel I'm in a position to make a judgement. I've also learnt not to trust dxo scores as they don't reflect real world use. The fact is, having taken hundreds of pictures with both these phones, the S9 plus produces consistently better results. In auto mode in the real world taking pictures of day to day stuff (kids, pets etc) you are far more likely to get a decent picture with the S9 plus. The Huawei isn't bad, particularly in pro mode but it's not a patch on the S9 in auto mode which is what I use the majority of the time. The Huawei is also very potions to producing strange artifacts as a result of post processing and colours can often look very unnatural.

You link takes me to the current deal? (skeptical)

The thing is too much is wasted on bench marks etc if you want to win benchmarks go for the iPhone x. But everyday usability is not defined by a bench mark test. Imo I think the s9 plus is the better phone but my wife would disagree living with both phones I can tell you there is hardly any if no difference between them

I almost went for this deal but found a better one when I went to get it. Its got double the data and 24 month BT instead of 3 for the same price DEAL

Happy owner of s9 plus? I'll spoil it a bit! How about to leave statement like that for proffesionals at dxomark (best camera ever: 109 points vs s9 99 points): Kirin 970 CPU with AI easily compete (or beats better said) with SD845: Any reliable sources from your side? Not really..if you read it as ‘in Rome’ like it’s written, then you are wrong ;)

So in your words, you're "wrong".

The original post stated: LOUGHBORO.GUY15 m agoSo if it’s 5.5 in Rome next Wednesday Roma win ? I'm reading that as 5-5 in Rome, which would be 10-7 to Liverpool. If he meant 5-5 in total (not in Rome) then yes, Roma would win with away goals.

I watched it in France using a vpnon the BT Sport app on my iPad streamed through Apple TV to my telly.

Couldn’t agree more!! I miss mid week European games on ITV! They wonder why so many people stream illegally even when on news feeds you can’t even watch the highlights they say (US only) what the heck!! Sick of this money grabbing sport, people moan about the atmosphere at games when the stadiums are half empty! The powers that be need a good look at the German League! Price games sensible full stadium equal shop and business’s staying open in the area! And whilst I’m on one Power League and Co stop charging kids £40 an hour to kick a ball around maybe there would be less violence on the streets if local people could afford activities that can bring people together!(skeptical)
