Amazon have a nerve to classify that as "like new". Their checks on returned goods seem pretty poor. I got a "like new" case with the back completely bashed in. It had clearly come from the warehouse like that, since the outer packaging was pristine, but the inner box was battered. At least its easy to send them back.

Schism81

I also ordered this. The box was pretty damaged, it looks like they had trouble figuring out how to open it. The thermal paste on the CPU block was missing so someone has used it and all the AMD mounting brackets and screws are missing. Sadly it was the AMD brackets I needed. So I'll send it back. It was worth a shot at the price though.

I ordered this aswell, box was a tad beaten up, fans clearly hadn't been taken out of the packet, all mounting hardware appears to be there, thermal paste I still applied on the pump it clearly hasn't been installed on a board but there is a bit missing from the paste, all in all semms alright for the mkney

You can buy the missing cable Online for around £5 if you want to keep it.

You should be able to. This uses the same push-pin fitting system as the intel stock coolers.

I've got a pre-built PC with a stock Intel cooler I want to replace. Can I replace it without take the whole thing apart? Sorry my first PC rig.

nacho99

I like a quiet PC. I had a Coolermaster Hyper 212 which was so tall the ends of the heat pipes touched the side panel in my case. I could not be bothered to change it because it meant having to take the whole motherboard out due to the mountings (and it did do a good job). I recently upgraded motherboard and CPU to a Ryzen 5 3600 which came without a cooler. I did not want the same problem so got an AMD wraith prism cooler as it had good reviews (for a stock cooler). Another reason for my choice was my CPU only has a 65W TDP but the wraith prism can handle 105W TDP. If you have heat or noise issues you probably have a 95W or 105W CPU. This cooler can handle 130W TDP and does have a quieter fan so it should do the job (just depends on the TDP of the CPU and if you overlock). I tend to messing around with power profiles of the CPU/Case fans to keep the PC running quiet when I'm not doing anything intensive. Upgrading the thermal paste might be another quick fix.

Thanks for the response. My case is a lian li 011 dynamic which is restricted in space for the big tower coolers, I tried a Noctua NH U12S but it wouldn't fit, I have corsair h150i cappelix which is quieter and cooler but makes an unbearble medium pitch buzzing so I've reverted to the stock cooler as I can't find anything that fits and is silent/performs well.

This - 4 heat pipe, single 120mm fan coolers like original arctic 34 and hyper 212 variants often drop to £20 on Amazon.

I got the plain 360mm version, and will consider adding RGB later.

kaisersolo

Be Aware the fans are not the same and are noiser on the RGB version. you don't need anything more the 240mm they all cooler great and are quiet. The 280mm is the quietest

How would this perform in terms of the Hyper Evo 212 on a i5 8600k

Well actually thousands of people do it without an issue. So long as you know what your doing it's fine. I built a full custom loop with no experience and had not a single leak until I sold it like 4 years after.

This should give you slightly better out and out cooling performance (and has some RGB!) , the Noctua is obviously a lower risk and lower maintenance solution, if you have the space for it. What you place more value on will decide what you should go for.

xzinkx

I'm torn between this and a Noctua NH-D15S.

memoreks

I have this cooler on my Ryzen 9 3900XT, and its great. Keeps the CPU under 70C all the time, even under Cinebench-style load, and is pretty whisper quiet while doing it. Definitely heat added, if you excuse the pun! :)

chaank

Probably because no one in their right mind would put liquid cooling in with their £500+CPU/£1000+GPU/64GB ram Rig.

What voltage are you pushing on that? Not saying I don't believe you or anything like that, but I have a 110 cooler (280mm radiator) which is supposedly better than the 100 - and at 5ghz, it's 85 degrees when running benchmarks. Is your 65 degrees the CPU temp or the coolant temp? Just interested in what your settings were so I could make some adjustments. I have a Corsair Air 540 case so airflow isn't a problem for me.

Alex_H

I think your model is powered by a SATA connection, then a 1 pin fan adapter into the motherboard so Corsair iCUE can control the pump speed. You're right, that's coolant temp. Definitely sounds like you have an issue. I would double check everything is connected as it should be and repaste the pump to the CPU to make sure that's all fine. Or you could have a failing pump if all that fails. If you run a CPU stress test, does the system shut down?

Danze1984

90+ in HW Monitor. iCUE is reporting 45 but I think that's just the coolant temp. Power wise, it's just plugged into a USB header I think?

Alex_H

What temps are you actually getting? And how are you powering the pump, via motherboard? If so, you got that connector set to full power or pump in the bios?

Danze1984

They are P14s, in the specs they give a static pressure figure, so figured those were the ones to use with a radiator. It is only recently though, and mainly when gaming. Maybe Shadow of the Tomb Raider is just especially CPU intensive?

How are the temp differences ? also im on the edge about liquid coolers as im scared of leaks (ik that some ue a special non conductive liquid but it isnt stated anywhere with this one)

Next day delivery just received & fitted in half hour looks better than Evo 212 it replaced

yanny2

use a fan cooler is cheaper, like hyper 212 evo. Probably not at current prices, they sometimes reduce to around 20 quid.

stec77

Does anyone have a suggestion for a 3600 on a tomahawk motherboard in a thermal take v200 case? Ideally closer to £20!?

KostjaKon

I'm doing red-black "evil" build with an NZXT 510. The jump to Kraken x53 is quite big and this budget-looking fan will be mounted on the front so it wont really be sighted except for the red hue. Have to say i'm tempted.
