Guess it depends if you want the RGB or not. I have an older version of this so won't be buying it but it is the cheapest i've seen it. I have a mostly Corsair build so if I did want an RGB CPU cooler it would be a Corsair one to avoid having to have another bit of crappy software to control it.

Yep, but suggested the 280 due to this being the 280mm too

Isn't the arctic 360mm a better option for around the same price?

Skip rgb and just get the arctic freezer ii 280 for less with much better performance

Thanks Mad Monk (y)

No heat sinks. I did add two mini 40mm fans to the G12 bracket near the i/o ports to give them some airflow (only a 2080ti problem, and probably unnecessary anyway). I did cable tie the back plate on also. I think before OC, stock temps from the EVGA XC (standard) cooler were high 70s/ low 80s. After, it was low to mid 40s. When OC'd to 2100 MHz or so I think it was low to mid 50s. The XC cooler is not great tbh.

I have done this with a NZXT G12 on a Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 and although it's great and near silent (except for coil whine) I am running two Noctua fans on the rad for push/pull which keeps temps decent under load. Worth noting that GPUs have a significantly higher TDP than most modern CPUs, so pump out way more heat under load as a result. If I was to do the same again I'd go for at least a 240 rad or a custom loop - that said it still works well and is a good deal.

Thats's good to know... Did you also add heatsinks to the VRM or MEM chips? What were your before and after temps? This will be gonig on a 1080 as im tired of the noise it makes lol

Fair point lol! I was just saying for 99% of people if you're going to spend £55 on a cooler, you're going to get more for your money by getting an air cooler!

I hate the terrible mounting bracket on this thing so much.

Will be same or worse than included coolers on Ryzen chips. But it also fits FM2(+) and FM1. So should be better than the tiny heatsinks little APU chips usually come with.

Little late, but as said previously, different boards (and even CPUs) will pull different voltages. The hotter one is likely pulling more. Either setting VCore to a manual setting or tinkering with the LLC should solve your issue.

Ordered the arctic liquid freezer II last night instead (y) (y)

Unless you're specifically after Corsair for aesthetics or you've got a small case, why wouldn't you get the Liquid Freezer II? Better cooling, quieter, cheaper and really easy to install if your case supports the radiator size. You can even throw in a tube of thermal paste and it'll be cheaper.

In two minds, arctic freezer 34 esport duo or one of these on a ryzen 3600

My brother bought one and I helped him fit it. Tbh I see what you mean, it's not large enough to cover the full cpu but I think it covers enough for it not to be a worry.

if you have one, do you think this properly covers the cpu? contact base doesn't seem square enough to me, i have one and given the axis it's mounted on i get the impression there is too much cpu showing around the edges, and one of the ccx hot spots/edges might not be properly covered? probably just being paranoid... cooling wise, it's ok. it is nice and quiet.

Arctic - Looks better and performs very well for the price. You don't need any fancy cooling for the 3600 as it doesn't overclock well anyway

I second this. Great cooler and a little less cumbersome than its similar competitor the EVO 212

Considering that Bezos' fortune just increased by some £79B over the last year... I can see that it's working.

Depends on what you consider a decent load? At the moment with ambient temps not being too warm, say 18 to 22 degrees, it idles, say 2 to 4% load, at around 28 to 34 degrees average with short spikes to approx 40.... And in stress tests reaches around 55 to 60 approx. Idle for me, is using a vpn, web browser with 4 to 12 tabs open, downloading, putty, and a few more things running in the background. I hope that gives you a better idea of how it performs for me..... Oh don't forget this is with different fans on, at the moment it's got 2x bequiet pure wings 2 fans on. I haven't tried it with the original fans on as this is my main pc and has to be fairly quiet being right next to where I sit. It's approx 22 dB iirc at max.

Sorry to be a bother. If you don't mind me asking, how does the 2600X run under a decent load with this?

I have this with a 4690k so you will be fine.

Amazon reviews suggest this particular model is prone to leaks

I can't comment on how easy/hard it is to get manufacturer to compensate, as I haven't had any problems on either of mine. The only thing I had to do on one of mine was change the fans, as they were rattling. Both of mine have survived being swapped into numerous builds too, as I like to change things up every now and then on my systems. At the present time, one is in my 2600X build, with a Lain-li Lancool II case that I bought recently and had to transpose the build into. And the other was in my main NAS build, but changed the case into a smaller one, and went with a Cryorig C7 that I had laying around instead. Anyone wondering about this fitting their socket, it fits:- Intel LGA 2066 / 2011-v3 / 2011 / 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 1151 / 1150 / 775 socket, AMD AM4 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / AM2 / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1 socket

Hah, I guess that's how it looks from the outside. In all seriousness though, I know plenty of female gamers, personally, and most are quite happily in relationships both with gamer and non-gamer partners. You might not think it, but they're really not that rare these days. They're not the cutesy pink-haired cat-ear-wearing e-girls that you see all over twitch, they're just regular girls who work tattoo shops, offices, retail, and even barbers. You'd be surprised.

The only gamer girls you see are the ones on twitch, streaming. And they aren't gamers or even remotely interested in games, they are just using games as a medium to milk money from the countless virgins.

What makes you think that the gamer girls aren't hooking up with the gamer boys? They're using the RGB syncs for peacocking. 8)

Cool story.

There is some serious virginity in here.

Assumptions are bad. Im very aware. Firstly any 4k game will use some cpu and those temps are very nice for even idle. Secondly it was an rts with 15k entities. Not Call of Duty, a very cpu heavy game. The price of AIO coolers are tiny relatively speaking. You spend hundreds on the rest then you should buy a h100 or h80 etc. If you're making a mATX or a media build then go for smaller. If its a true gamijg PC do it properly tbh. Ive not OCd my 8700k as there is no need in current games. And id rather have less heat in my office room :)

4K gaming is GPU bound making your CPU work less hard due to the low frame rate.

AIOs are only of any use if you overclock. Otherwise it's just pointless. I used an Antec Kuhler, the double fan radiator one, it was very noisy. Even with the fans on low it was noisy. And it cooled about as well as my Evo 212, which cost a fraction of the amount and is very quiet. Even under full load it's quieter than the watercooler was at its lowest speed. And the Kuhler got worse and worse over time until I eventually opened the cpu block to find it all bunged up with the blue additive stuff. Big air coolers over these AIOs any day.

my mate got one and its very good for the its price but he's got double fan

I use this with a 3700x, happily sits at around 4.3ghz max temps I've seen are 71c, not bad at all.

Agreed - would have been a deal in itself if not for HUKD's criteria! Was hoping to see these ever-so-slightly older versions to esport 34 to go lower than £22, but looks like it won't. These have been as low as €16.99 on Amazon DE, but there's delivery charges and foreign fees etc to consider. They also had the green version for the same price. By the look of it, there may only be two left at 12pm?

It runs upto 4.9 no problems except its pretty close to throttling temps and I do not like to push my CPU that far so I limit it to 4.4 Although saying that the last time I run it upto that it was a new system and I had not optimised air flow I have noticed my 100% temps at 4.4 are lower than they were . It might be worth another test I did not really word my other post very well lol

Your problem might be elsewhere. The 4.4ghz is often caused by z390 boards undervolting the 9900K. You might want to read this thread and in particular my contribution (post: #192). It is highly likely that your motherboard is causing this ‘throttle-like’ phenomenon, unless your temperatures hit 90c+, which I have the feeling is not the case with you, as I had better temperatures in other systems with i9 9900K and those systems only had a cooler master TX3, which I tested only out of curiosity. This Arctic cooler looks a lot beefier than the TX3 and a lot more modern. I highly doubt tis will underclock your cpu because of heat: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=327051.0;all

Just to update anyone considering it. My order has updated to say it will be arriving on the 6th even though it still shows as back in stock on the 9th.

Nothing is guaranteed but corsair do deal with incidental damage on a case by case basis and have been known to reimburse for loss. Peace of mind and all that Jazz.

You wouldn't have cover anyway would you? Incidental damage to other components isn't covered by ANY AIO warranty, used or not, is it?

There are other factors such as less flexibility in their CS teams when things go wrong and Hermes (very slow) if an item is too large for Post Office return. If you can afford to loan them cash for 3 weeks, you will always get your money back with minimal fuss. The days of fantastic deals on the whole have gone, and I have spent a staggering amount of money with them since 2003. I have had some amazing deals, Macbook Pro for £300, but I think they have wised up somewhat. If you have time, there are deals still there, but less frequent compared to the good old days. Whilst officially 30 days warranty, I have never had a refusal when an item has failed after several months. If an item comes with a substantial warranty i.e. Bosch Professional tools, you may find the have been registered already so you have to factor in if making expensive purchases.

Buy new when it comes to Corsair Water Cooling, their complete warranty is unbeatable. They replace any component that fails upon said leakage. C'mon don't buy without it.

Gotta disagree there, I think it is a bit of gamble when purchasing from warehouse but more often than not, I've found a gem. Just a month or so ago I got the 1000XM3's from warehouse for around £140, absolutely mint/new condition. Purchased a couple other things, all better than described.

They look like ql140s which you don't get with the 115i cooler. They are ML140s as you say which don't have leds. Picture is a bit misleading Edit: ah they've mounted the cooler to the front of the case in the pic above, but it's cropped so you can't see it

Don't know if it's just me but I don't find the ML140 fans to be quiet at all. Got them in 2 PCs and they are much louder than the old BeQuiet fans I had. What are the fans shown in the picture though, with the ring? They are definitely not ML140s.

got to admit, the dark cooler is one heck of a nice and reliable cooler. good pick, done u well.

I had the dark rock on my 2700k for 7 years with no problems and the changed to the top flow for 3 years for the kids again with no problem. Their fans are good and I would recommend them although Noctua are better but do cost more.

Had a bequiet pure rock from about 8 yes ago on a 2500k running 4.3Ghz, ran till last year when I dismantled the system, and sold it on eBay for for just under £20

I have one, the mounting arms are counter intuitive because they partially slide through the fins instead of just clipping onto them. It's a bit like one of those executive puzzle toys, only it's a cooler. As for temps 3600 is 40*C idle with a room temp of 25*C/

I've got a be quiet Pure Rock installed at the moment, thermals are great, sound is negligible. Wasn't that hard to install though this fixing and mount looks different.

What speed are you running them? Worth keeping in mind they peak out a fair bit higher than the likes of noctuas, if you dial them back you lose the noise for the same airflow. If you run them over 80% speed they are noisey, but that's OTT and I generally have them pegged about 70% which CFM wise is about where the Noctuas start to peak out and the cooling efficiency gains get marginal. If it's just one fan send it back, part of the reason these are so cheap is the QC is good not phenomenal, although the actualy arctic branded rather than reseller ones are usually better.

not so sure got 2 arctic setup yesterday and the noise level is annoying may have to send them back :(

That is a good price... 2x noctua nf A14s are near £34 at the moment on amazon.

Arctic fans are usually cheaper than this and I actually rate them better.

im using a wraith prism on a 2700x. It gets 80-90+ on full load, as I have a binned chip ( can do 4.3 @1.4 ). I moved off WC last year and this is / was an interi soln Is it worth dropping 30quid on this, or just adding another 30 and going for a noctua or be quiet!

I took a punt on the Duo a while ago when it was £26.99 even though I didn't really need it. It's a very capable budget cooler, with one fan or two, and now has a place in my partner's PC. £30 does seem a touch steep for the single fan version but still decent value. That's the Arctic Freezer 33 rather than 34. The 34 performs better than the 33, but maybe not £8 better. Certainly not 36% better.

for £21.99 this is worth it, for £29.99 I think I'd recommend paying fiver extra for the duo version, which I got myself, and cools really well while staying almost silent for most of the time.

I've bought 2 of the yellow ones recently, they're not half as offensive to look at as thought they'd be. The build quality and performance is fantastic for the price too.

Anyone know what's the cheapest 240mm/ 360mm aio that's asetek circle? Need to use one for my G12 bracket

Had the white version on my launch ryzen 1700x which my son now has and it was no trouble at all, so I'd take no notice of negative reviews. I loved how it looked and it did a great job of cooling the cpu, I was so happy with it that when I upgraded my rig to a 3900x I choose another deepcool aio. When i bought my Captin 240 it was a lot more money than this and wasn't the rgb version like this it was around £100. I loved it and if I didn't have a 360 aio I'd be having this no problems pair this with that case posted today for £41.99 at Amazon and for £100 you have a smart Tempered rgb Glass case and a nice rgb aio to go with it and the rgb stripes, I can't stress what a great buy this is there's no other aio that looks like this and it's a real eye catching addition to your rig.

I would personally get the Arctic’s Liquid Freezer II 280 but this looks good if you want RGB.
