I would not serve this to my worst enemy.

I rather buy the Black Label but still voted hot . Got heaps of Black label stock at home

Was my first foray into scotch... As was always a bourbon or bushmills type of guy!! So it's pretty tasty for a budget scotch, wee bit of smokiness which I like

Not a bad price for an ok-ish whiskey. I won a bottle in a Christmas raffle and whilst I had low expectations it was actually ok. Inoffensive. Damning with faint praise I suppose.

LoL. Some people need classes to pick up such obvious sarcasm. LoL

Aye’ I was being sarcastic (annoyed)

not expecting many folk who can afford £100 for a bottle of whisky shopping on HUKD

Not a case of whiskey but a single bottle.

Looks like a pretty good deal that for a case of whiskey.

Grrr sorry for the false information guys. Just relaying what I was told from what I thought was a reliable source

they must have been winding you up.... not on offer or clearance in York either

Confirmed not nationwide. I’d have stockpiled the Highland Park if so.

Tesco have just told me it's not nationwide. Wouldn't budge on £45 either when I went to store

Took a lot of restraint not to do the same! :D

🤣🤣🤣 you’re so precious, your family are very special people to have looked after you, sorry for their burden 😊

You're even thicker than I first thought. You're now talking about bourbon when this is a scotch thread.

I generally stick to single malts but also enjoy a good blend from time to time. This is a good blend and, as others have said, is superior to some of the cheaper single malts at this price level. Saying all single malts are better than all blends is simply ignorant. Voted hot

The temperature of the deal reflects the general consensus. Crap.

So much bile.

The 50cl is weird - previous Blenders Batch Rye Finish was a 70cl. Still, this is the best price by some margin.

I've gambled, on this and the rum expression as well :)

Blended 🤣

Shame it's only 50cl would have jumped on it otherwise, feel cheated at 50cl (lol)

Also, nice strength but only 2/3 of a bottle (5/7 really).

Nice random selection of whisk(e)y there. Johnnie Walker Black is an excellent whisky. Petrol? Don't think so mate. Try adding some water - you're clearly being overpowered by the peat and the alcohol. You'll find adding a little water will smooth things out for you. If it tastes watered down you've added too much. DON'T add ice - it will leave the peat and alcohol there and just kill the rest of the flavour.

The authentic voice of ignorance there. Johnnie Walker Black Label IS a great whisky. Don't be fooled by "whisky snobs" they don't care about you.....

So much for my dry January 🔥🔥

Yep got some for Xmas and it comes in a bad ass viking inspired bottle

Price has gone up to £125.70.

I’m by no means a whisky connoisseur, but is this not expensive for a blended product?

Going by comments it seems I'm not the only person who's not a fan of Johnnie Walker.

You could buy several superior bottles for that price or buy a bottle of Grant’s and buy a pair of return flights to somewhere nice like Barcelona with the change.

I understand this is not for everyone but if you are looking for this great quality whisky, this is the best price.Have been waiting for it to drop for a while.

And that’s 46% non chill filtered by the way

Hmmmm reviews are patchy. Seems to be more of a status bottle to have on your shelf rather than the quality of the liquid. Old Pulteney 17 for instance is only £75 but Is said to be absolutely top drawer.

If anyone’s considering buying this, please do a bit of research first. £100 is a very healthy budget for a bottle of Whisky. There’s some truly stratespheric Whiskies out there for £100. This one is nowhere near that level. Trust me, it falls very short of most £100 single malts.

If you wanted one already then hot. I won't deny it's nice but just to expensive for me and I want to explore other whiskies which £100 will go a long way towards

definatley heat, cheapest I've ever seen this was £110 2 years ago. goes for about £180 in duty free

What’s better green or gold?

And unless you are in to your single cask whiskeys, the majority of single malts and certainly all Scottish single malts in this price range will be blends albeit from the same distillery.

I agree. This is an excellent whisky. The word blended does not always mean rubbish.

Yes i get it, you're a hardcore, old school, purist. Crystal clear. You want to enjoy drinks properly. It's not about right and wrong. It's about choice. You choose to be pure. Some choose not to be. If it's wrong in your book then it's wrong. But remember that's just your book - and you are not the bastion of knowledge, drink wise. Whatever suits a person, then that's what it is. They want to get sloshed in the worse of ways, then hey, have fun and deal with the toilet and hangover in the morning! :-) You want it neat, straight up, room temp, etc, then yeah so be it as well. It's all about choice. Don't choose for them by imposing your standards, and making others feel that if not done your way, then it's wrong.

Does it make it right then?

Because each person has the right to enjoy their drink they way they want to. It may not conform to your "standards" but it doesn't make it wrong.

Nobody who likes cognac enjoys three barrels because it's beyond the boundary of last resort, cheap n nasty stuff that provides little or no pleasure when consumed by the unfortunates consuming it. I had a shot of this ridiculously priced designer gin from Canada the other night, even the barman seemed rather surprised when I asked for it straight. I thought a couple of ice cubes and a slice of lime would be plenty enough to mix with such a fine expensive tipple, alas it was filth but I don't regret trying it because I now know I won't ever be able to enjoy it because it was so minging without a mixer. I just don't get mixing spirits like there's bundles of people who don't get drinking them neat/straight. No matter how much you talk about the drinker controlling the alcohol content by mixing fizzy sugar with a spirit makes it nothing like an alcopop I can't and won't have it.

Why would my enjoyment of one drink have any impact on my enjoyment of another? I can enjoy a nice glass of Wild Turkey Rare Breed straight and on another occasion enjoy a Jim Beam with coke. The coke isn't there to hide anything, its there to mix with the bourbon and change the taste to bourbon and coke, a different drink in and of itself. I don't know what Three Barrels with any soft drink tastes like, but if someone likes that taste then great, drink it. Glad to say I can enjoy a wide range of drinks including a standard pint of lager on occasion. You seem to have a strange almost snobbish attitude to alcohol, which it appears you revel in. Fine but most people don't take it that seriously and as always personal tastes vary. BTW your assertion on alcopops, as I already explained, doesn't make sense. Like I said the reasons why someone may choose to drink a spirit with a soft drink rather than a alcopop are numerous and quite valid. From price, to variety (might not be a alcopop that tastes the same as a particular mix) to being able to choose your own strength depending on what you fancy at the time. To say that "if you drink spirits with soft drinks you might as well just drink alcopops instead" just sounds like you're trying to be dismissive and really didn't think through the comment to be honest.

that's not bad at all for a store pick up but yes amazon is cheaper and if your jollying threw a airport at all you can get a 1litrebottle for little over these prices I got a 1litre double black for £28

Yes but it also meets all requirements to be called a Whiskey and that's what they call themselves as they didn't want to be labeled a bourbon.

If you want to go down technicalities, JD has to meet the regulatory criteria for classification as a straight bourbon in order to be exported via NAFTA.

Thank you OP. I'll be getting some bottles in for Christmas presents.. Have some well deserved heat.
