Johnnie Walker Green Label and Gold Label whisky, both £30 @ Morrisons instore

You mean not available to the people voting. Cos it was obviously available to the OP and anybody else who can get to that store.

It’s getting voted down because it’s not available at this price.

Since it's re-release it has dropped to £30 at Morrisons a few times. You are getting a lot of whisky for your money @ £30. Really good stuff. Good deal !!

Yeah, I'm not sure if people are just comparing this to Johnnie Walker Red prices or just voting down whisky over £20, or if this is genuinely a bad deal but I've not seen it cheaper for a long time.

How on earth is this cold? It's absolutely delicious.

I quite agree with you there!

except black is not for mixer, it's best used neat, and is actually a better product than double black, since double black is just extra smokey, but fresh and young whereas black is 12 years old aged.

horrible for you because you don't know how to drink it. Red is meant to be mixed, in cocktails not neat.for that, it's great. If you want neat, get black.

Whisky snobbery comments aside, there's really nothing wrong with the Red... thanks OP. Heat

Jack Daniels Monogram isn't an £800 bottle of whiskey, so it will taste similar to base JD. It was around £40 when it was released but it's expensive now because it's rare.

Double black is smokier and spicied than black label. Taken from a website: "Double Black is really nice and smooth. The smoke from the nose is there but it’s perfectly balanced by nice round, sweet flavors including the cherry from the nose. This balance carries out perfectly through the midpalate, where both the smoke and sweet intensify. At the end of the midpalate, Double Black picks up a little spice and the slightest bit of bite that carries through a nice medium-long finish which preserves the sweet, smoke, and spice notes."

It's got some peat in it! Very nice stuff for the price!

How does the double black compare to the normal black label? The normal one is pretty good for a malt / grain blend, might have to try this.

I would not serve this to my worst enemy.

I rather buy the Black Label but still voted hot . Got heaps of Black label stock at home

Was my first foray into scotch... As was always a bourbon or bushmills type of guy!! So it's pretty tasty for a budget scotch, wee bit of smokiness which I like

Not a bad price for an ok-ish whiskey. I won a bottle in a Christmas raffle and whilst I had low expectations it was actually ok. Inoffensive. Damning with faint praise I suppose.

LoL. Some people need classes to pick up such obvious sarcasm. LoL

they must have been winding you up.... not on offer or clearance in York either

Confirmed not nationwide. I’d have stockpiled the Highland Park if so.

Tesco have just told me it's not nationwide. Wouldn't budge on £45 either when I went to store

🤣🤣🤣 you’re so precious, your family are very special people to have looked after you, sorry for their burden 😊

You're even thicker than I first thought. You're now talking about bourbon when this is a scotch thread.

I generally stick to single malts but also enjoy a good blend from time to time. This is a good blend and, as others have said, is superior to some of the cheaper single malts at this price level. Saying all single malts are better than all blends is simply ignorant. Voted hot

The temperature of the deal reflects the general consensus. Crap.

Nice random selection of whisk(e)y there. Johnnie Walker Black is an excellent whisky. Petrol? Don't think so mate. Try adding some water - you're clearly being overpowered by the peat and the alcohol. You'll find adding a little water will smooth things out for you. If it tastes watered down you've added too much. DON'T add ice - it will leave the peat and alcohol there and just kill the rest of the flavour.

The authentic voice of ignorance there. Johnnie Walker Black Label IS a great whisky. Don't be fooled by "whisky snobs" they don't care about you.....

So much for my dry January 🔥🔥

Yep got some for Xmas and it comes in a bad ass viking inspired bottle

I’m by no means a whisky connoisseur, but is this not expensive for a blended product?

Going by comments it seems I'm not the only person who's not a fan of Johnnie Walker.

You could buy several superior bottles for that price or buy a bottle of Grant’s and buy a pair of return flights to somewhere nice like Barcelona with the change.

I understand this is not for everyone but if you are looking for this great quality whisky, this is the best price.Have been waiting for it to drop for a while.

And that’s 46% non chill filtered by the way

Hmmmm reviews are patchy. Seems to be more of a status bottle to have on your shelf rather than the quality of the liquid. Old Pulteney 17 for instance is only £75 but Is said to be absolutely top drawer.

If anyone’s considering buying this, please do a bit of research first. £100 is a very healthy budget for a bottle of Whisky. There’s some truly stratespheric Whiskies out there for £100. This one is nowhere near that level. Trust me, it falls very short of most £100 single malts.

If you wanted one already then hot. I won't deny it's nice but just to expensive for me and I want to explore other whiskies which £100 will go a long way towards

The Balvenie Double Wood 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch for £32 or the Bowmore 15yo for £35?

A pic of the Balvenie with a £17 offer price is a bit misleading....
