Cheers for the heads up, although based on Amazon reviews I went for the Wenger roller instead, looks a better product for the same price.

It contains a shoulder strap, not backpack straps. Good for me though as I very much doubt I will carry it (y)

Have ordered thanks :D

This one seems to have backpackstraps

Hot. It's long been one of my ambitions to own hand-luggage that will arouse the majority of bystanders.

Odd. Not sure what to say because the model I saw, which is the exact same code as this one, does have straps.

Ordered myself a Samsonite Spectrolite Briefcase L for £37!!!! I've had a Samsonite Tectonic Large Backpack for about 4 years with no issues so I highly recommend the brand!!

I used to sell Samsonite luggage at a department store and it's not all it's cracked up to be... constantly coming back in for repairs. Wheels breaking off, zips failing, cracks, TSA locks jamming. To be fair they are guaranteed BUT not against damage from misuse by airlines so if the baggage handlers broke it you're screwed...pretty pointless really. If you want good quality luggage that will last go for Eastpak, it's also less expensive. If you get a bargain Samsonite go for it but it's really not worth paying over the odds for because from what I've seen unless you get a model with recessed wheels it won't be long before one of them falls off.

I think you mean i.e. ;)

Seems like you got a steal £155 and up now!

Got mine and ok for BA and easy jet for carry on. But not Ryan air !!

Useless size for airline carry on :( Pity, as price is hot.

I like the look of this. The only thing that puts me off is that it exceeds the cabin size luggage dimension restriction so may be a pain when travelling by air if I'm forced to check it in each time. Heat added though; it's a good deal.

No I think that is for the airlines use only, if they need to open your luggage. Although now Tsa locks are pretty much useless as they have all been cloned and also with just a 3 digit code its easy enough to open anyway as the maximum numbers is 999. I still purchased though as its a good price for a suitcase with 5 years warranty.

May be a stupid question, my starfire case has arrived and I have set the new combination for the lock. On the sliding button it looks like it has a key hole....are we meant to get a key also?

Just had them delivered this afternoon - nice suitcases - great buy - thanks OP. Wouldn't have been able to afford or justify them at full price but at this price they are a steal.

I also looked at these and I agree, the quality isn't close to what you'd expect from Samsonite, but it's a good price nonetheless.

Great price! But we bought a similar Samsonite suitcase recently and the product quality has been disappointing (flimsy handle and wheels quite damaged after a single weekend trip).

Looked at these. To be honest I did not think that the quality was that great. The wheels are single and did not run smoothly when moving. Not sure how good they will be with weight.

They're covered in the guarantee according to the shop. It makes the bags so handy to push around. I bought two slight different ones on around Christmas, great bags.

No it isn't.

Price quoted is plus VAT making a cost of £115

Seems like a great price but how well do the wheels last? They seem to stick out quite a bit and look like they could get broken off when being thrown around by bnaggage handlers.

I assume anyone considering these travels reasonably often (otherwise just grab a couple of £20 fabric cases). Therefore as Airlines are pretty stingy with luggage allowance these days i'd suggest considering a lighter case. In our case we opted for the Cosmolites (2KG lighter and a bit more capacity) for the larger case and Samsonite lightweight cloth case for the smaller ones. Hard case seemed more important for longer haul/checked baggage. Whereas for cabin bags weight was the priority as fragile stuff can always go in shoulder bag and you handle the luggage not the out of sight baggage handlers.
