100% and for me a game not having a single player campaign, story is absolutely ludicrous. For me, gaming is about stories/ adventure/ escapism. Releasing a multiplayer only game is extremely poor in my eyes. Sounds quite sad, but I very rarely play multiplayer. Maybe the odd game. But at least 95% of my time is on single player.

NaughtyDog

I sincerely hope we get a sequel! And I fwill also miss FPS games having campaigns, if that’s the way things go. Most of my mates don’t bother playing them though and just spend endless samely nights playing multiplayer. So it seems we are in the minority sadly. To me releasing one of these games without a campaign is madness! (mad)

blanka

Much agreed and hopefully we will still see a sequel. EA messed up on this the first time around and in my eyes truly exceeded themselves with Titanfall 2. Improved on the original in every way! Plus...... Free DLC. Last time, in my opinion EA did something good for their customers. Titanfall was sadly released with battlefield 1 and COD. So it sadly didn't have a chance. However this is my favourite game out of the bunch easily. There should always be battlefield (traditional or current shooter) and then have a futuristic shooter like this. This is the modern COD. General COD is only good when it's cheap (storyline is always ok) this new multiplayer only can kiss my bottom 😃

Vladimir

Just to point out, whilst some aren't new and I know MM themselves have been bad lately for trying to pass off resealed games from online sales, some of these are actually Sony/MS factory sealed and totally new for all intents and purposes. You can see in in the picture even on Titanfall 2 on the right as one example but I can say from both seeing and buying some that you do get new copies.

ben.franklin

You could design a whole game of that one gameplay mechanic!

Don't think so. Needs a proper antenna, a dish is for catching satellite signals.

It works on Linux. I have two. It gets shirty if your signal is marginal though.

Not really I'd say, the way the game works is that as you level up from one to 50 you unlock titans and equipment choices then when you 'prestige' or regen, you reset your level to one and then everything is locked again. You can choose to buy items with credits so that there are available at any level, you earn a reasonable amount of credits as you progress. With the Ultimate edition you skip all that as it's all unlocked and you get some bonus cosmetic items such as a couple of Prime Titans (they are functionally identical but have a different design and different AI voice). I didn't mind having to unlock items as when you start there's a large choice of titans and weapons so I started with the 'default' titans and weapons then as I progressed tried out different ones and unlocked the ones I liked as I went along. It's not a restrictive system so you don't need to do a lot of grinding to get the items you want and can unlock them at a reasonable rate.

Gary_Liddington

Haven't started it.. want a xbox one x (deals wanted!!!)

Titanfall 2 has an excellent single player campaign. Well worth a fiver. I might buy it again so I don't have to mess about with Origin (annoyed)

They might as well give away tf2 instead of charging a few quid for it. I bought it day one and it sucked. Sold it after two days. Whereas tf1 is the game that just keeps on giving and probably has more players online. I laugh at the game makers for the stupid and frankly ignorant changes they made for tf2. Literally took everything good about tf1 and threw those things in the bin. Then they added stupid stuff nobody asked for.

Why is this Cold? ITS £4.95!!!!! There’s not a lot you can get with that amount these days and yet here is an amazing game with plenty of content. Have some HEAT.

Jon79

I'm sure it's good but i'm not into the whole multi-player/on-line subscription thing. Had my on-line fun back in the 90s & 00s on PC when it was free and innovative. Nowadays i just prefer to occasionally jump into a single-player game if it's good enough. Heard the campaign is short and sweet (y)

cannibalwombat

The multiplayer is excellent, probably my most played FPS on PS4 and I'm not usually big into them. It would be a shame not to give it a try, though I can't say what the servers are like now or any changes they might have made as I haven't played for about a year. That said, I can't let go of my physical copy in case I can tear away from the backlog long enough to dip in again!

Jon79

Don't want to pay over £5. Only want to shoot through the single player real quick then sell it on. Considering the price brand new i should be able to get it second hand for next to nothing. Lack of sellers so multi-player must be really good.

cannibalwombat

I It's often pretty cheap digitally. Recently the ultimate edition was £6 on the US PSN. You can get a physical copy from Amazon for just over £7.

I think it’s a case of your get what you pay for really and having realistic expectations. If you’re happy with a pristine disc for £5 that’s all that really matters. I think the issue with Poundland (new)/music magpie stock is that the stock is invariably not going to be new, sure you might get lucky but the concept of ‘new’ doesn’t fit within their business model as they simply don’t work with publishers, at all. They have a subsidiary that repackages discs and reseals, some are cleaned up, some are not, it depends how much the retailer is willing to fork out per unit. The likelihood of these being factory sealed new is remote, not to say it doesn’t happen at all.

bottyz

You can still grab loads of copies of this for £5 in Poundland. I bought one the other day, says pre-owned (believed been discussed before on hukd about being from Music Magpie), but sealed and of all the games i've bought the discs have been pristine. No dlc or multiplayer codes, etc on this one to worry about so no different to purchasing new. Oh and yes seems very busy on multiplayer, less than a minute and you're in a new game.

NFS

What a fantastic game. The company killed this releasing it in between COD and Battlefield. If they had released it a different time of year it would of got the credit it deserves

No worries. Nah I scanned the list and no vital games popped out at me. I didn't even buy Baja in the end as I didn't want to waste the PS+ trial on one game :).

joeydeacon

Just seen your post sorry, but the sale ended within the last hour. Did you manage to pick up anything decent?

copperspock

Crap I totally forgot about this sale. Does anyone have any suggestions? Looking for games that are the cheapest they've ever been, preferably non-indie platformer. Baja: Edge of Control HD is all I've found so far.

For some reason Until down Rush of blood has turned from the demo into the full game with trophy's and all, i just happen to fire up the demo i had downloaded some time ago to give it a go and it's the full game, never bought it, don't have any detail's to buy anything anyway, so i wonder is this a mistake or a free weekend, the info says valied until the 15/7....very strange, but i won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I didn’t see anything related to Boomerang in your past experience. So I told you stop being negative and give them a go or get out of here because almost everyone here is telling you that you’re wrong and you’re just insisting that you’re not. I guess living a life in ignorance is always much easier than being able to understand and experience new things.

mixmixi

Ok cool. Boomerang hasn’t been around for the past 40 years of your (partially ex-rental and partially digital) gaming life so you may as well stop being a negative Nancy and give them a go to find out for yourself.
