That would entail getting a ps5 - which I won't be. PS4 Pro is my final console and I have a nice library of games for it.

Is this for a physical copy? Didn't even know they still did those for PC games. The last one I got was AC Unity and it was on 5 DVDs :D

27 through cd keyes yeah. 32 for standard version I dont know man. I would push to 30 like I did with FC 5 but 32 no. I am out.

Hope this has a VR version... as then u can't feel Lara's assets ;) .. Full on VR version, fighting, climbing , etc would be insane (cheeky)

Might as well wait for the PS5 version which will run with a better frame rate as well.

Cheap price but didn't like this game much. Preferred uncharted 4 over it.

I vetoed this game after the Xbox exclusivity. Felt a kick in the teeth for all the support over the years but they clearly back the wrong horse. Great price for a great great game though.

I'm 13 dear hearts away from a platinum on this. Really enjoyed the game. Highly recommended.

Also Argos. Great idea, I'm going to order a physical copy instead.

Good price, but if you want some resale value its £15.99 on Amazon at the moment.

You can get the DLC for £2.40 right now on Gold Sale.

Is this worth it for the DLC?

Not the 20 year celebration although that is one sale for £2.40 or something.

Depends if you want to resell the disc version after completing it. You can't resell the download but you can game share with another person.

Whats the advantage of getting this over the physical preowned copy?

Currently playing this. It is really good.

I still haven't got around to this after their initial love-in with MS. I won't be buying the next one either. I know that sounds a bit bitter, I'm not a Sony fanboy. I just had no enthusiasm for this after that and no point picking up the third in the series.

Great game, thought the gameplay was better than uncharted 4, and I loved that game

Niche problem you got there, son.

I love the battlefield games but just annoys me they never include an offline bot mode, 25% of console owners either have no internet or struggle to get online by no fault of their own. We have to miss out completely. Its not just that tho, you have a lot of people anxious bout playing online as a first timer you literally last seconds and it can put you off after several hours struggling to get a kill. The single player is not worth the price tag. You would actually probably sell far more copies of the game had it included this mode as well, I know if i could play this stuff offline, id actually get all the DLC. Eventually players will disappear to the latest game and servers will be shut down making the game pretty much useless but with offline mode, you will still find people buying it 5yrs later. Recent example, i got MWR for £5, had no idea it added features to the game like offline bots as the original didn't, that actually makes me want to buy map packs. I hope they do this with MW2 as that had the best maps

The standalone version is available on the console (check the store). It's the one offered to Game Pass users. If you search 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' you will be presented with three options. The 20th Celebration Edition. An Add-On and the base game available as part of the Game Pass subscription. Endurance mode is £7.99 or £7.19 with Game Pass.

Can anyone confirm if you choose "Buy as a gift" would Microsoft email me (the buyer) the activation product key or do you have to enter recipients email address associated with their Xbox account? I just need to know a definitive answer on this thanks in advance.

There's a version of Rise of the Tomb Raider available on Game Pass. According to the online store, the standalone version basically doesn't exist any more and is only available as part of a bundle, the 20 Year Celebration version. I've certainly played Endurance Mode without having paid anything for it

I only have the standard game, I read a while back there was virtually no point in getting the GOTY edition, is that still true? I did, however, get 'Rise of the Tomb Raider 20th Anniversary', recently on a previous DEAL and that was an in credible experience.... so much so it made me want to place the 1st one again... but not before 100%'ing "ROTT", and exhausing every extra expedition/content. I was not exactly happy about the fact that it was exclusive, but deal with it like any true gamer.....instead of stubbornly refusing to play it...your loss!

7 million copies is quiet a downgrade from 11 million copies sold of the original 2013 game and that's excluding the definitive edition released on this gen consoles. It's common sense that exclusivity deals will hurt sales. Choosing to believe it, that's your own doing.

Nope....sales were low in the UK...believed to be due to Fallout 4 launching at the same time. If you want to lose out playing a game, that's your own doing.

Well sales did suffer. And they haven't done it for the next game. So I guess the collective efforts of a lot of people (not all) refusing to buy has made them rethink exclusivity deals. You're welcome

Yeah, that's sticking it to the man directly, your efforts clearly worked for the third instalment is out in September across all formats. All thanks to your lone crusade. (strong)

Im impressed, ive been playing for a couple hours and still not done! Its pretty great!

Ironic the improved graphics actually get in the way of the gameplay; much harder to tell what's navigable and what's not instant death. It still retains that tomb raider magic though; they just need to sort out those load times - less than 1 second pls! Oh and the game bugged out in my play through too! Died in the trap protecting the jade dragon, respawned out of bounds and immediately fell to my death, then respawned again at the next waypoint, skipping a section of the level (and my opportunity to collect the secret (annoyed) ) Also couldn't figure out the intended route to fall down at the end of the demo, so just jumped all the way from the top; plop! I feel like I skipped a puzzle (embarrassed) (edit, just watched a walkthrough, and looks like I did skip a small scripted event)

Bahh, Windows only ;( . Heat anyway. :)

Aha jumped across the other side to a ledge...

Don't worry, the tigers are still to come. Oh, and they can now swim!

Thanks I hadn't heard of DXVK. They seem to be making some rapid progress. They'll have their work cut out for them to surpass native dx11 on nvidia hardware though. Still even if they can get close to the performance that's massive.

That is still true. However the emergence of Vulkan Graphics has changed the playing field in some ways, as I suggest above. Vulkan / graphics drivers in Linux are progressing at a fairly rapid pace, resulting in a narrowing of the performance gap. For people with older hardware, I expect this game will eventually run better in Linux than on Windows. On a related note, Linux/Wine with DXVK has created a scenario were Windows games that never supported Vulkan in the first place, can be made to do so - with resultant performance gains. All PCs benefit from the use of Vulkan, but especially weaker systems. From my perspective, Linux is becoming increasingly the go-to platform for eeking out every last drop of gaming performance. Having said that, a Windows game that supports Vulkan, will currently out-perform the Linux Vulkan version - but the difference seems to close a little with each passing month and new Linux driver release.

Looking forward to this. I've been sitting with an un-activated copy from a Humble Monthly patiently waiting for the Feral port before activating it. Vulkan just makes it better. I hope they plan on introducing Vulkan to previous ports once they nail the process.

Linux has many strengths but gaming performance isn't usually one of them. Maybe something has changed since the last time I tried but are there (m)any examples of games actually running better on linux now?

OK, I have answered my own question. The save feature has not been implemented yet.

Works fine on my 64-bit Windows 10. So, does anyone know yet how to get the save crystals?

The "O" thing works on my PC using Firefox, "O" makes her swim, and Shift puts her feet back on the ground. For me the cursor keys directs Lara, and "D" makes her move in the direction that she is facing.

May be just 32 bit OS on a PC. I have no clue how to start the game, but the binary downloads are for 32 bit. As I've 64 bit installed that could be a reason. ( tried in firefox and explorer ).

Excellent. Just played this and clocked the 2 available levels. Worked on my Chrome browser in Windows 10 on PC and on my Android phone as well (in landscape). Only thing I couldn't do is get the save crystals - anyone know how it is done?

3dfx got bought by Nvidia so a lot of the tech would of been absorbed I guess.

yeah, voodoo 3dfx acceleration was great in that era, nvidias d3d sucked, but mysteriously 3dfx went bust and just dissapeared overnight and that was the end of that, after that it was all d3d and opengl ever since

Tbh that means making another account and I just can't be bothered yes I am lazy but I have a Australian Japanese US and UK accounts.... and I find it hard enough getting credit easy on my US account

Can’t see it will now, not this week anyway

Wish this sale would come to the UK store but I'm not holding my breath.

Grabbed Lara Croft go as that's the cheapest I've seen it between the US and UK stores, might get Murdered Soul Suspect for the PS3 as I enjoyed that on the PS4, but then the backlog is big enough already...

Goddamnit, I hastily skipped the end of the header and thought this was a UK sale for a second. Been waiting for a Square Enix sale so I can pick up FFX Remaster. I don't like buying games from other regions unless I can't get them anywhere else. Not all is lost though as this seems like a good time to rebuy Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve. I stupidly lost my US account a while ago and have been trying to collect all the PSone classics I originally bought for it. Thanks for the post, heat added
