Thanks for your input. But the graphics card is fine for what I use it for, just this morning I played DOOM with quite decent settings and it ran smoothly and looks great. I read that they didn't really patch Wolfenstein 2 and on release a lot of people were complaining on forums that the game would crash, even people with high end video cards. I think the game isn't very well optimized for PC. But that's just my guess, I shall try it with lower settings though (highfive)

They seem to find it ok https://steamcommunity.com/app/612880/discussions/0/1479856439029650170/

1050 is more an entry level card. I don't have the game but try turning settings to low or 720p and see if that fixes it? In which case you might be using too much video memory.. Actually when this came out sure I read complaints about vram and people changing settings.

Just ordered - thanks! Looking forward to playing this one :-)

i7 and gtx 1050 that's all I know from my specs lol everything else from latest games works a breeze on it so I don't get it :/

STEAM - DOOM and Wolfenstein II Bundle £20.90

Steam sale - DOOM and Wolfenstein II on sale. Can be purchased together or separately: DOOM is at 50% off Wolfenstein II is at 60% off

Yh, I just powered through it over a weekend. I got so far, I thought I might as well complete it. I ended up dropping the difficulty, as I felt the game forced you to play stealthy, I wanted more of a Doom experience. I like stealth just not in a fps, unless it's a game like Deus ex.

The difficulty felt odd as you seemed to go down so fast which encouraged a stealth approach but I found it was inconsistent as well as in some sections the guards didn't seem fussed when they found the remains of soldiers you'd blown apart with heavy weapons then in other sections whatever I did, they seemed to get triggered. I ended up loading and saving all the time which certainly felt very old school but was frustrating. I was pretty disappointed with the game overall despite being impressed with the previous Wolfenstein game, this one seemed far too heavy handed with a dull story which took itself far too seriously given how silly much of the game is and the gameplay itself felt too short and repetitive. Fingers crossed for Doom Eternal as I thought they did a fantastic job with the rebooted Doom.

Heat as they are cheap. Doom is amazing. Wolfenstein 2 was a disappointment for me it's no way near the heights of The New Order. Did you stick with it? You get stronger a few missions in. I wouldn't blame anyone for not seeing it through though I found large parts of it boring and had to push myself to finish it. On a better note we get more Doom: Eternal news tomorrow at Quakecon :)

Doom will be on Game Pass from 10th August for those with that service. Otherwise, decent price!

Yh, preferred the first one and the spin off. I found the level design bad in 2. There's one level where everything is brown and you don't have a clue where you are going. Found it very frustrating at times. It's got its good moments to, but I found the bits in between a struggle to get through.

That might be part of the issue re: having too many games so yet to play!

Love Assassins creed games with the second one still being my favourite (close with Black Flag as not played Origins yet). I always felt I was progressing with the side missions etc as it always opened up new stuff. I can see what you're saying but I think for me it's spending time escaping to the game world rather than progressing through missions. It can suck you're time away though, not good when you've got a pile of shame building in the corner.

I’d say GTA and RDD are a different ball game altogether, but I’ve played games like Assassins Creed Origins and ploughed 50 hours into the game only to give up as I couldn’t see the end in site. Tomb Raider/Uncharted whilst being large games they are invariably linear and I can always see the end in sight or feel progress is being made

Im the opposite mate and like the cathartic experience of shooting every pidgeon, collecting every UFO part and discovering the odd easter egg aswell. Ha ha games devs really know how to string out an experience, but if its in a world you love spending time in such as any GTA or Red Dead or Tomb Raider for that matter then it's more a pleasure than a chore :D

Now you say that I’m thinking of holding off as I’ll want to be spending what time I do have on Tomb Raider, RDD 2 and Hitman 2 when they’re released. Plus, i dunno, I just find all the expansive open world collecting/side mission stuff really tedious. Yeah I prefer to play large involved games, but mostly more linear experiences like Uncharted, TLOU, Tomb Raider etc

Great deal. Makes me sick that it is £10.88 in Argentina.

Great single player campaigns.

Thanks, was looking for a new game to play when I have a few mins and these sound like they could be good ones to jump into for 20 mins at a time... hopefully

Played and finished both and have to agree with the above comments, both excellent games!

Wolfenstein The New Order ps4 £4.49 - PSN+ members
Found 8th JulFound 8th Jul
Decent price for a great game.

Agreed. But that isn't the scenario I was replying to. Digital Games purchased for money (even at a psplus discounted price), i.e. Not the free ones included in the psplus subscription, remain accessible to play to play even without a psplus membership, with the exception of games that explicitly require Internet to play.

that would be to do with the PS plus edition of the game then

The error message literally said I couldn't run the game because I wasn't a plus member anymore.

that sounds like some sort console issue.. nothing that you Pay cash towards will be locked when your membership expires. only the free monthly games. maybe you had the free ps plus edition and upgraded to full edition and was some sort of error

You say that but I bought Driveclub a few years ago using a PS+ discount and the game wouldn't boot when I didn't have an active membership.

Agree boomerang have some spot on deals and they come in better cases than MM however they only seem to advertise decent games from time to time and not many copies of them so by the time they’re on here they are gone from eBay

I got xbox one copy from boomerang for £9.99 delivered the other day, so worth looking there also

Agreed. And after the first was so good...

Oh, it's 12.79 without code - neat. I've been eyeing this all week waiting for it to shift, it's been sat at 13.99. Thanks for the heads-up (y)

Thx for confirmation mate.

Can confirm there is a Steam registration code in the box

Also 7 people also said no to that question on Argos site, someone here must of bought from argos.

Yes It will activate, but to be fair to Argos the system will treat this as a boxed PC game not a Steam code.

It's a Steamworks copy so yeah it's redeemed on Steam via key.

its a strange game, the main quest feels really short. Some of the level design is rubbish and you can't easily tell whats collectible and whats not and the enemies are complete bullet sponges. it looks and sounds great is gory as sin, and the cut scenes are brilliant -glad i got it second hand and not full price just about worth it at this price

Great, I'm out of luck, it seems Octopath is out of stock, may not be able to get this offer since it ends today midnight.

Thanks, its this week so I was looking to pre-order it and was leaning towards amazon so this is a lot cheaper.

That depends heavily on when your friend's Birthday is! Whilst this is quite likely to be the cheapest we'll see this at launch, if their birthday is sometime after the game's release on the 28th July, then all bets are off. It also should be noted that with most online stores you won't pay for a preorder until the game dispatches, so if you DO find it cheaper before the release date it's quite easy to cancel your order and set one up elsewhere.

Friends wants MXGP pro for his x box as a birthday gift. I know absolutely nothing about gaming. Is this the cheapest I’m likely to get it? thanks!

Base game was great so wanted more. - I purchased the season pass couple months back and really enjoyed it. For £10.79 it is worth the money as I took my time doing these missions.

Hi @batdroid, Basically season passes are a way to buy (usually) all the additional content for a given game. For a game like Project Cars, that might mean all the extra cars or tracks which are released to buy after the game goes on sale. For something like Assassins' Creed, it might be all the extra story missions and in Battlefield it might be multiplayer maps, weapons or outfits. For one payment, you get all the extra goodies, usually for less than buying them all separately (although sometimes it's cheaper just to buy the individual extra content that you really want). Season passes have become quite normal now for most big budget games - as @skidster says - as a way of generating extra revenue from players through additional content. But at least you can choose whether you want to buy more levels / outfits, etc. (or wait for a 'game of the year' version which usually includes all 'bonus' content). It's usually worth waiting to see what content is released, rather than stumping up full whack on release day. Some games like Grand Theft Auto or Gran Turismo don't have season passes. Others like Horizon Zero Dawn just have one big extra story, which you can buy (or not). I have a much bigger issue with games like NBA 2K where progress is made deliberately and impossibly slow to force you into buying in-game currency for skill upgrades. Hope this helps. dwor

It's a way for game publishers to make twice the normal amount of money that they usually can from sales of a new game by holding back content (sometimes) or adding new content (rarely) and expecting us to pay out again for it, even though we have already bought the original game. Rant over and breathe.

What is a season pass? I have always wondered

DLC on the first game was really good. Don't know about this one
