This should be voted cold as there are and will be better offers to come. Cold

Not a good deal, you are better off using the buy one get one free tickets you get from cereal boxes or use Tesco clubcard for three times the value. You can sometimes get half price tickets on groupon with up to 20% cashback going through TopCashback or Quidco.

Just had a look, it looks like theyve increased the short break costs to incorporate the season pass. Minimal Saving compared to usual cost plus £50 pp for season pass.

I think it depends on family size. If you were planning on booking a stay over anyway then it's worth doing as the passes are £56 pp anyway. I looked at stay over for 3 (2 adults and 1 infant) on selected dates it was coming up at about £190 so effectively the stay over is a lot cheaper when you deduct passes from the total

It's around £50 each to get in and you thought you'd get a whole family season pass for £85 (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol)

We live about 3 - 3 1/2 hours away depending on traffic, the season pass isn’t a bad idea as we don’t travel to the other Merlin parks, we would go more often if we did get a season pass but still debating the pros and cons of everything.

How far is you're journey, we are 2 hours away and feel this is too far to benefit form an annual pass.

Great idea, we have thought about these last year but liked scarefest and it was excluded on the other passes, parking can add up if you go a lot, personally we wouldn’t go enough to warrant a Merlin pass and we live quite far away, usually we stay at the hotel when offers are on but they have been lacking too since the smiler incident,

Where does it say you get free parking with the premium pass? I'm unable to find it. Thanks

Managed to cancel my £156 booking and we book at £102.30. Cancellation fee of £20 but still a saving...

We got most our money back at the secret garden for dinner (kids enjoyed theirs but ours was awful) and found the rollercoaster very expensive. now we just nip out and go to wetherspoons there are 3 close by. 4.2 miles, 6.2 miles and 10.1 miles

I'm gonna try them with a price promise as I booked at 50 quid more on the phone today (after cancelling an even pricier booking from a few weeks back). How did you find this flash sale as it's not on the normal page it's an affiliate??

We ordered a takeaway pizza and ate it in the bar. No issues.

Is the alton towers Hotel a y good for a 4 year old? Ideally I wanted cbeebies but not avaliable.. My understanding is that you can go into other hotels but not cbeebies? Which would be better, alton towers Hotel or splash landings?

Sale started, not as good as last year. Only £10 saving

Sale starts on 18th, no idea what it consists of yet. Expect £20 off the renewal per pass as per previous years

yay! that's what I thought! thanks for confirming the glitch :-) I will wait for the sale apparently "might" start on 18th and if not I'll do "renewal" in Feb. cheers!

Per Merlin's rules, no. In actuality, literally, physically, yes. The system they use (Accesso) accepts 16/18 digits for a pass number, but does nothing with them. It doesn't search, process, or in any other way make use of the number you enter. 16/18 random numbers, 0's etc, will all allow you to proceed. In terms of them checking your renewal, I've renewed in the past and have not been asked for my previous MAP, so I never had to show it. This happens at all attractions, across the board, though your best bet would be to go to a Midway, and if they asked for a pass, tell them you forgot it. Trying to get them to upgrade a LEGOLAND season pass will result in them getting confused, which really does not take them much at all. To recap: Yes, go for it. They never check etc.

Does anyone know if I can renew/upgrade to "Merlin Annual Pass" from my "LEGOLAND Season Pass 2018". There are numbers on the cards so I can go through MAP online renewal. I did this until the end of the online form just before payment and it looks like it would allow me to renew with Legolan Season Pass 2018 number. Of course I cancelled as I was not sure and it says tickets are non-refundable etc. Would that renewal be honored if I purchased it? (This could be a glitch of course)

No body dies at Disney - google it!

Since the tragic accident they have become very very risk averse. If the operating instructions say the ride can't operate below 5 degrees, they are no longer operating. If a safety sensor reports a problem they are shutting rides until it is thoroughly checked and safe to re-open.

The reason for the accident was because a ride engineer ignored alarms, didn't visually inspect the the track and used a manual over-ride to send out a car full of people whilst the ride was in test most with an empty car stalled on the track. It was fairly breathtaking incompetence from one of the most qualified positions and not related to maintenance. Before this accident Merlin haven't really had any major incidents at their parks (worst incidents were heart attacks or people hurting themselves on paths). They've a better safety record than Disney (who've had a number of grizzly accidents).

That’s good! I hope you all have a fantastic time 😁👌

Top tip. Not been for years. As others have said after all the controversy with the big accident it's definitely lost its 'attraction' though

my then 5 yer old loved it, but he didn't want to go back this year. it's very much geared to fans of cbeebies.

The rides in CBBies land are a bit naff for a 10yr old but we took our 10 & 8 yr old a couple of years ago and they loved the water park and hotel so weren’t too bothered about the park. Go for it

Sounds like a good deal but no dates available for weekend of 22nd December which is when we would be looking to go

Fab deal but It’s a shame there are no deals for in between Christmas and new year.

Already booked this this morning after receiving an email about it after previously doing something similar last year, it was a bargain then and even better now, as this time it includes dinner at the rollercoaster restaurant and a selection of rides in the theme park which were all off last time, can’t wait to go! A con!!! £55 for a years entry!!! That's cheaper than a day pass !!

Not bad if you visit twice a year but I agree the place has gone down hill. We went 3 times this year on these tickets and the cable cars were shut everytime. Not even sure they are running anymore. It was nice addition to ride in them across the park. Cbeebies has been the same for a few years so even our toddler must get a bit bored. As for rides Ritas always broken down and the only ones worthy of a ride are nemesis and oblivion which get the queues. Also feels like cutbacks around the park with booths being empty and missing staff in places there used to be

Bit of a con these, you end up paying for parking at £6 a pop, plus the value for money has gone down dramatically over the last 7 years with perks removed from them year upon year

Thats not bad- ok yes exclusions apply but at the price of almost a single entry useful if you live near there or plan to go a few times during the year.

Thanks op

Yes, with one it's before christmas and you get the santa visit, and with the other it's after chrismtas so no need to visit santa.

Hi what is the difference between these 2 is it just the visit to santa ?

Booking has been open since end of May. We got in the CBeebies hotel on 2 December for £263.

Kiddy rides aplenty as that is the target audience for this festive break. No big rides, coasters or other flats'll be open. Expect just Cbeebies, Sea Life (Sharkbait Reef), Marauders Mayhem, etc.

The Crhistmas breaks focus on the kids rides like the CBeebies stuff, I wouldn't expect any major rollercoasters to be open. The 10 year old might find it too boring, depends if they still like Santa.

Thanks Op, just back from staying at Dog & Partridge, odd reception but lovely family rooms.

The one day I admit was extreme and stopped a few times on the way home. Don't think a 3.5 hour drive at half 5 in the morning is particularly tiring. Nor at 6pm for the drive home the second day. Just because you can't handle a long drive after being out for a day doesn't mean others can't. I do 70 miles a day to and from work leaving at 6am so no stranger to long drives in the mornings.

Be careful booking this, said system error this morning so pressed book again and got two booking confirmations!

We just booked santa sleep over as we go every year ..its a brillaint get away for the family and the kids love it

Just checked and when you add them on for free they both say 21st and you can't change them on the booking. Probably best to give them a call or email them and ask if you can change the date of one of them? 08710971233

Say I booked 21&22 which day can I use waterpark? The free golf says it's for 21 and can't change to 22. So would we be able to use waterpark on 22nd??? Don't wanna really cramp both activities in one day

That’s a good deal if you’ve got kids not at school. We’ve been a few times just to CBeebies land and the water park. The entertainment in the hotel is OK. Keeps the kids happy for a treat. The slides inside the park are great.

The dates in the post are definitely the prices specified for 2 people or 2 adults 2 kids. If not showing that date they have sold out but plenty of dates still available

Any idea if this works for fright nights

Anybody have any kind of idea what the queues are like September weekends? £60 each for the gold fast pass seems a bit pricey I’d be gutted if I got them and the queues weren’t that bad!

Indeed you did. Drip.

I don’t need 241 tickets just 4. Seems a waste 8)

Be careful with Alton Towers off season. Merlin have been penny pinching to the extreme the last couple of years. You can have as little as 6 hours of ride time, rides can be closed and lots of the food places and stalls close up.
