When new-borns arrive, parents don't want to miss a thing, and thanks to high-tech baby monitors they don't have to. These devices capture high-resolution video and audio data, letting parents watch their children as they sleep, and alerting them to a host of potential issues before they become a problem. Prices and features vary widely. But parents can always find reliable, high-quality options for less at the hotukdeals baby monitors listings. Read more

I would suggest only buying IP cameras / baby monitors that support standard open protocols ( ONVIF / RTSP ), and ideally ones that let you turn P2P/ cloud storage off (although that would stop their own app working which may limit some functionality), or block outbound internet connections from them at your router firewall so that they can't connect to their server. Otherwise you are reliant on the security of the firmware and the cloud/P2P server, and they are frequently found to be flawed. You are also reliant on the manufacturer keeping their server up and running, not abandoning support after a year or two, fixing security flaws, and tied to using the manufacturer's app. If you need remote access from your mobile etc, running your own VPN server (eg openvpn or wireguard) on your own network is a vastly more secure solution and you only need to worry about keeping the vpn server software up to date.

Yes very much so, but its a great piece of kit. There may be other options just as good, but cheaper. The range was important for us. We have a 3 story house and its good to know it will work when we are downstairs or even in the garden during the summer months

Wow, a substantial price increase!

The smart version of this has bad sound according to many reviews. Why are these so expensive!? The Motorola seemed good but again, not great reviews.

We have this and it does the job. The display is really bad quality so we just use the app on our phones. All baby monitors we looked at seem to use really poor components that likely cost no more than £5-10 but retail for over £100. That said, things I like: - Camera quality is okay (if using the app to view on your phone). - Being able to view the video feed on your phone - The video feed can be viewed from anywhere you can get mobile signal. - You can pan the camera via the app. - Night vision is good. Things I don't like: - Display unit is rubbish (ours is turned off). - Lullabies are loud and not soothing in the slightest - Voice playback audio quality is poor and loud. - No tilt via the app (manual only). - The microphone picks up a lot of background noise. - Sound and motion detection are overly sensitive even on the lowest setting so you get spammed with notifications if you don't leave it off.

They are all rubbish value for what they are, they have parents over a barrel though with this stuff. However, we have a Eufy system and it’s one of the better ones for sure.

I did notice that as I have been looking. When you consider the good quality/value smart security camera market at the moment you would hope for some better offerings.

Honestly, baby monitor makes get away with daylight robbery with shoddy products, and tech from 10 years ago whilst charging a fortune!

My baby cries so loud I won't ever need one of those

Have this for our 2yr old. Its great. Only downside for me is that the mute mode (which indicates noise through the light) has an annoying beep everytime the monitor mic detects a high volume. Kinda defeats the object a bit for a mute mode for me

Same price amazon at the mo, we have been using ours for the last few months, simple no frills, does the job monitor. I paid £23.99 from amazon.

Rakesh_Bollampally

Quoted range is a bit of a stretch but good product. Going strong for past 8 months or so. Struggles sometimes with single to out building which is less than 10m and two walls away.

Best baby monitor on the market hands down, nothing comes close.

Thanks for posting. The battery in our Philips monitor (nearly 6yrs on from our first kid) is failing. Taken the plunge and will give this a go
