Go for a bigger name brand for child care devices. Unless you want indian scammers looking at your kids
I would suggest only buying IP cameras / baby monitors that support standard open protocols ( ONVIF / RTSP ), and ideally ones that let you turn P2P/ cloud storage off (although that would stop their own app working which may limit some functionality), or block outbound internet connections from them at your router firewall so that they can't connect to their server. Otherwise you are reliant on the security of the firmware and the cloud/P2P server, and they are frequently found to be flawed. You are also reliant on the manufacturer keeping their server up and running, not abandoning support after a year or two, fixing security flaws, and tied to using the manufacturer's app. If you need remote access from your mobile etc, running your own VPN server (eg openvpn or wireguard) on your own network is a vastly more secure solution and you only need to worry about keeping the vpn server software up to date.
Yes very much so, but its a great piece of kit. There may be other options just as good, but cheaper. The range was important for us. We have a 3 story house and its good to know it will work when we are downstairs or even in the garden during the summer months
Wow, a substantial price increase!
