Plus if you dont want to buy cartridges you can always do this

Sammykate

My sister has this and rates it. There was about a million of them in our local Mothercare so we got one for bump. If it doesn't work then it was only a fiver. Not sure how its any worse plastic wise than the nappy bags people usually use?

xlxaiwa55xlx

For years I always avoided these types of nappy bins. I wish I'd started using them sooner.

southlondonboy

My one was delivered yesterday and set it up today. Cheap plastic. The 2 halves don’t attach together. Got it for a fiver so can’t complain. Wouldn’t pay full price for this.

Picked one up in Swindon Mothercare as well at this price

emmy.burrowsjFg

It does indeed come with one cassette. Refills are £12.99 on Amazon for a pack of 3 which isn't cheap but better than stinking my house out! (highfive)

Add_to_Basket

Nice first post. I bought one of these last year when they were doing them for a fiver. I think this comes with one cassette does it? Only thing is the refills are still quite expensive (unless you get the generic brand ones, or the big roll of "do it yourself" film but I don't think they keep the smell in like the genuine ones.) Still, worth every penny if it stops your kitchen (or wherever you keep your bin) smelling like a public toilet!

Waste of money in my opinion... It's best to just wrap it up and put it in the outside bin...it's the most vile way to save your nappy... Storing them to throw away later...yuck.

dean_chilcott14

Was £1.49 in Trafford Centre the other day. Totally forgot to post it but I did get the last one!

mpressive

We have two of these. Have tried some aftermarket bags and recommend these Signstek ones from Amazon. They have shot up in price though as we paid £23 for 6 in November 2018. Set up a few pricewatches so you can buy at a price that suits. If you have a newborn I recommend getting at least 18 cartridges, that would average one a month with 4/5 uses a day. After 18 months, in my experience, you will want to individually bag the soiled nappies and get them outside as soon as possible!!

Hilazing

Not sure angel care would think they are wonderful comments. (lol) :p

amazoncrazy

thanks for your wonderful comments :)

Hilazing

I have one of these for my little girl. It does the job, but has a few flaws. The camera is pretty much impossible to angle well to get a good view of the cot unless it's a good distance from the cot. If like me the only place you can really put it is next to the cot it's not great, and I have it attached to a fairly decent tripod as high up as it will go. There is no way to turn off the alarm on the movement sensor from the bedroom unit, so if you don't disable it from the monitor handset before going into your baby and you have to pick her up, the alarm is going to go off. The battery life of the monitor is only about 2 hours with the picture turned on, then an annoying chirp goes off every couple of seconds until you turn it off completely or charge it. The picture quality in night mode is not great, but is fine if you just want an idea of what's going on - just don't expect crystal clear picture quality. There are much better options out there for similar money imho.

amazoncrazy

its fine for all times :)

Just used perfumed nappy bags this is a nonsense product.

emribena

I don't use one but my friend swears by hers. I have an upstairs and a downstairs changing bag and a going out changing bag with wipes, creams, nappies emergency clothes and nappy bags in and if anyone takes the wipes out of any of them and doesn't replace them they better look out! XD

emribena

The idea of it is that it compacts and wraps them and stops the smell so you only empty it when its full which they say is once a week.

oatenjon

Good price but didn’t really use ours when we had it

KemCol

Got one of these for free when Amazon had them . Never used it and just stuck the nappy in a bag and then in the bin . "Bin needs emptying once a week into the main bin" That's just being lazy .

We've got 2 of these, used daily and find them excellent. That said it probably is just as easy to use a pedal bin...

xJayJayx89

It’s a good price but you’d be throwing money away buying one. Nappy sacks are more effective and the cassettes for these are a waste of money for what they actually hold. The tommee tippee ones are often given away with a £10 spend on amazon as well so shows how much of a gimmick they are.

squiff

Maybe. I can't have bins as I have a dog who'd just tear them open, regalrdless of the contents. I have been using 'value' nappy sacks as dog poo bags and they don't lock any of the smell in whatsoever so why would they keep in the smell from dirty nappies? We've thrown caution to the wind and bought one of these for our baby but if we don't need/use it we'll either sell it or donate it to charity. We decided as we were placing an order to be delivered anyway we might as well risk the fiver - which is worth it for the cassette if not just the bin.

kushie

Everytime I see these on offer I feel like I need one but it really is unnecessary. All it takes is some strong nappy sacks and a regular change of bin bag.

mdekq007

We have one of these. Baby is now 11 weeks. The nappy bin is unnecessary and still in its box

Going to a baby shower next week and looking for a present and found this. I have one and really find it useful. Also available in store
MildmanneredCalvin

I bought one expensive system from John Lewis about 3 years ago, they don't sell it anymore unfortunately, but the specialised bin was so worth it. It didn't need refills of any kind whatsoever, just does a great job of sealing smells of the nappies. It was ultra handy in the flat we used to live in as we didn't have a dedicated bin just like another user confirmed where they lived in their flat. The disposal bin was 75 pounds and worth every penny. These systems are very handy for people who don't empty their bin every day.

emmylou4004

Personally we never used one with my little girl as I could take them out straight to the bin - but I can understand why they might come in handy for people living in flats. I did buy one instore yesterday as they make a great baby shower present (as all these baby showers are becoming expensive (fierce) )

texaspetey

This item does highlight the differences of perspective and environment that means one useless thing to someone, is another’s invaluable item. This is why if it’s a deal it should get heat, and we should remember this is not a review site.

pinkcamelia

Nice find :D

ykhan16

Thats a good price. We ended up getting something similar and used it for about a year. Wasnt really happy about the cost of it given that it takes 10 seconds to throw a nappy in the bin outside. My partner wanted one though and in the end I think we both appreciated it especially in the early few months when nappies had to be changed during the night- in the middle winter.

My 2 year old has the slightly more expensive AC1100 model. Couldn't live without it and I have complete peace of mind, had a few problems at start but I was using the wrong settings, once tweaked its flawless. Got another baby coming in November and will use and trust Angelcare again.

Oneday77

We had the AC401 with motion sensor. Brought more peace of mind than any camera or microphone ever could. It was very sensitive and worked flawlessly. As long as we didn’t forget to pause it :p

shoobirdy

We dropped our handset on the floor and the screen was damaged... complained to them about the frailty of the item (it wasn't a bad drop by any means) and the best they offered was to replace it for about £40 (I should add we had the top of the range model at the time) so not great but was happy to pay it for the peace of mind it brings. Got woken up to the alarm going off a few times in the first few months so consider it a bargain whatever the cost.

xlxaiwa55xlx

We had an angel are sensor monitor for our little ones. It worked perfectly for 3 kids. Even survived my 18 month old putting the handset down the toilet. Excellent bit of kit.

We’ve had an older Angelcare monitor albeit without the Video function and it has served us very well. We tried quite a few beforehand and found none to be anywhere near as good. Have a separate camera already or I’d be quite tempted. Can highly recommend Angelcare based on the model we’ve had (highfive)

Mentos

We’ve got the version with the mat and has been good with our first. Now being used for our second. Only negative is battery life isn’t great. Not a major issue for us as it mostly sits on charger next to sofa, but maybe an issue if you need to carry it around
