I think they're now big enough for you think they know what they're doing. But in the car seat department sadly not :( I've no experience of their prams either to know what the quality of those are like. But I know in a lot of rear facing car seat advice groups cosatto are a big no no. That's when I had a quick look into it myself and was surprised too! They look so appealing, who wouldn't want their baby or young child in a funky looking car seat? That's what sells them and it's awful when they're not very good!

Akira_Cat

I honestly didn’t know that Cosatto weren’t a trusted brand, especially since they are fairly pricey. I agree Maxi-Cosi would be one of my first choices.

jrrowleyws

If you're interested in getting a safe car seat, look for one which has a good test score by ADAC or for rear facing only, one which is Swedish Plus tested. Which is a waste of time and they have previously ranked safe seats as a 'don't buy' due to lack of colour choice!

Den38

My advice when buying baby products, especially a car seat, is to sign up for a months trial of Which for £1 and read their reviews.

Soapy1989

I also can't find any information on the product as to what weight it's safe to travel rear facing until? Usually either 13kg or 18kg but this one just states height.

Thankyou, that's what I was thinking. I've had a Silver cross wayfarer and 2 silver cross pop. My daughters was pink, didn't want my son being mistaken for a girl (lol) so he's had a new one and they're such a dream to push but was wondering about a holiday pram for us. Although you can strip both their strollers rightht back so I might just take them and do that instead. It's only cheap if you need it isn't it.

jlflanagan

I bought one of these as a spare to our silvercross zest and it wasn't the best to push, felt really stiff and awkward to push so ended up selling it. Suppose its like anything though, you get what you pay for and its personal preference.

Soapy1989

Cheap, but is the pram any good? Will it last or is it going to be a one use holiday pram? Thanks :)

Not a bad price.. second on the way have our old buggy but it’s not for newborns. Problem with buying used closer to London is the state of the pushchair and the price people want crazy amounts for pushchairs that others would bin. Everytime I find a good used one that’s affordable it’s so far away .. I’d go into labour before I went to pick it up lol. Have bought other used stuff for babies not always easy to get smells out ;-)

We bought all new on the first one... which lasted the next 3 lol...

I have to say this is a decent pushchair, tried it out 2 weeks ago. Only decided against it as it was bulkier than I would like. At this price, definitely better than it was in the discount shop I went to. Good steal for anyone after bugaboo donkey!

Exactly right. Also, at the end of the day too the whole point of HUKD is whether the deal in question is good for the item in question, not whether something else (often not even comparable) can be had cheaper. There will always be something available cheaper.

greendayadam

How is a pricy pushchair any different from a luxury car? I don't see deals for high spec cars being so scrutinised. Both will get you from A to B, it just depends on how you wish to get there and your respective budget

robwdavies

I think with any of these items it's important to understand how you're going to used them and as a result which features are valuable for you and which aren't. Then it can be possible to justify paying more, not always, but sometimes. I struggle with "magazine" type reviews of anything, pushchairs, cameras, cars, etc. because it's impossible for a reviewer to be reviewing from the perspective of you and what you need/want. Cameras is a great example here, some really poorly reviewed cameras have been amongst my favourites, whilst many "Gold Award" models have left me cold. Placing a percentage seems so arbitrary, how does a peek-a-boo window score compared to an extra 5 litres of basket space. Having said all that, we did child one on an absolute shoestring as my other half was a student in med school. Now she's a working doctor part of this purchase was definitely about having something nice, however it was also the item in budget which fitted needs best. I'd absolutely agree though that there is a huge pressure for new parents to buy anything and everything, even if they can't really afford it (or could spend the money in better ways), and as you say in times of furlough it's felt even harder.

robwdavies

Fair enough. My experience is different. If we were all the same life would be boring.

robwdavies

I started out the other way on this. I couldn't understand the hype surrounding Bugaboo, but some time with one, and understanding the features of it (rather than listening to an agenda driven salesperson) actually got me to change my mind on them. To the extent that I was dead set against buying one, but ended up doing so. Typically the Bugaboo pushchairs are substantially lighter than competitors equivalents (first hand experience of this), Bugaboo Fox for example is around 75% of the weight of a Mamas and Papas Ocarro. This weight difference is noticeable, particularly if you spend most of your life lugging them in and out of cars. Little touches too, like the brake pedal, are very well thought out, so you can operate in whatever footwear you have on. Their frames also shy away from the shiny finish of a lot of competitors. This means they might not look as blinging day one, but they don't mark as easily, meaning they look newer longer. You can also buy any component separately to repair/refresh as necessary, prolonging the life (and getting more out of the investment). All this adds up to class leading residual values. This means if you can buy one on a great offer like this, you'll recoup a large amount of that initial investment when it comes to sell. This can often mean over the period you own it they cost you less than a "cheaper" option. Happy to be proven wrong though.
