That looks like a decent solid bench - good price too!
Will get lower once freedom has been established.
I had the same issue then learned you can put the plastic bits in boiling water for a few seconds then they stretch out really easily! I find the bench is sturdy but is too low and not wide enough for a lot of people. I say this and my BMI is 23. It wouldn't be suitable for people particularly overweight
Homcom, make sure you check it for rust.
Caution: mine was extremely poorly milled and packed with metal fillings that all came flooding out over my floor. Probably unlucky, but enough to **** anyone off.
Some tool pliers is also required to hold the other side of the bolt while you spin the nut using ratchet. I used this one - STANLEY STA074456 Combination Pliers amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BT0AE28/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_EXC9A7GS4AED6JTS6G6G?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Any further advice on these nylon screws if there is any going? I have a 17mm ratchet but they won't budge at all.
You need this M10=17mm Draper Redline 68039 17 mm Metric Combination Spanner amazon.co.uk/dp/B011IL5IJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_JAW0SSNEMB30T2XVTZMV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
How did you guys get them nylon bolts on (lol) ? Think I need to buy a ratchet, won't budge with my hands.

Mine arrived yesterday, given the price it is half decent quality, can't complaint at all. Happy with the purchase. Just wish I managed to grab the straight bar too the weights on the curling bar as a little light.
Mines still not arrived, was supposed to arrive between 10-12:45. On the live chat to see if they can locate the driver as their tracking app is hopeless and doesn't work correctly.
Already arrived cheers OP :)
Hopefully you can make a few quid in these tough times :D tough times for everyone
Seems like they are feeding 5 of a kind every now and then... to create a hype 😃 Both were OOS for me but kept refreshing and boom 😁 Thanks OP!

Hmm, thanks, I'll try that and see how it feels. I got the below power cage too, but I hit the top if I try do OHP in it, making it awkward/noise/prob damage the bar over time. That's why I bought a separate rack just for OHP... I think over time I will sell this power cage for a better one that is taller or doesn't have the top to be an all-rounder... The second pic is the separate rack I got for OHP...
Like I said, you should be able to reset to the rack without resting it on the ground. You might need to bend your knees a bit to lift off. If on the other hand you are talking about a pin press, then you will need a better rack like a proper cage.
I'm talking about spotters bar. You need to have the rack set to a level where unracking is comfortable to have the most optimal lift. If I struggle a lift, I can re-set it to the rack after resting it on the ground, but nothing to catch the failed lift, like you would with spotter.
Ever heard of progressive overload? Push your body to near to your limit. That results in coming close to failure and missing lifts.
May be reduce the weight to a suitable amount that you can lift?

Straight Barbell Weights Set - £29.99 instore only @ Aldi£29.99Aldi Deals
For those who want to work out at home this is a great price and available for pre-order now.
I'm in same situation have 35 in weights but need another 20 or so
Went to see at my local, had everything else but this... there were bands, push ups bars, multi-use bar thing for abs, back, chest and legs etc. But the barbell set was sold out. Probably only had about 2/3 of them so definitely went earlier hours in the morning... sad but oh well. I need more weight, I have a basic barbell but really need more plates
tried my local stores in Northampton and none in stock either.
Just been into my local Aldi (Dundee) and apparently the delivery of these has been delayed to most stores (possibly caused by the port delays they said). Just to save anyone a trip :)

Is it, considering PureGym have opened back up everywhere?
Just saw a facebook post about people taking things andd selling them on actually. was a woman who was giving away a motorised toy car for anyone who is in need of an xmas gift this year for their kids. Person comes along picks it up and sticks it on facebook marketplace for £50 - presume some of you will think that's fine too.
equal oppertunities and all that.
They've gone back into stock at my local and I've just managed to get one. Could have bought more for profit but I'm not a butthole.
I posted a couple of deals on argos weights but the mods converted my deals to discussions because they no longer allow deals which are rrp.
Thanks matey. Been waiting for this to come back into stock! It's a shame the 35kg isn't available, as the max weight on this barbell is quoted as 25kg only :(
OOS for me in Devon :(
The bar on this is reeeeaaalllly long! I bought this set to do les mills body pump at home but it took an eternity to change the plates due to the length of the screw, sold them on gumtree, I never had any complaints with the quality though
Good buy if you mainly want to use the Dumbells? Trying to get fit again, got the weight down, now want to add some muscle. I'm not looking to become a body builder, just need to add some muscle for tone and to replace the fat :) Shoulders and arms looking a bit skinny now the fat is gone (I'm 180cm and down to 66kg now). Find Gym boring, but dont mind 30 mins couple times a day at home in front of the TV.
Great stuff - thanks for sharing! I needed some new weights and this is perfect and very reasonably priced.
Will this fit in my Tesco bag for life? I want to carry it home on the bus.
Purchased, stock at Long Eaton store for collection only,. Cheers!

BodyMax 15kg 6ft Olympic Barbell 272kg Max load for £68.48 (Delivered) with code @ powerhouse-fitness£68.48£74.999% offPowerhouse Fitness Deals
I have to admit that they couldn’t (lol) she asked me to go to the area it was stored & to carry it out from behind the tills as it was too heavy for her
Hey @Nick_Pike good deal! Thanks for sharing (y)
Olympic generally refers to the design of the bar (taking weights with a 2" hole). From memory men's standard competition bars are generally 7'2" long and weigh 20kg. Women's standard bars are 6'5" and weigh 15kg. However an Olympic (as in form factor) training bar can weigh whatever it likes. Hex bars can weigh 35kg, EZ bars can weigh 10kg or less. Nothing fishy about it.
Not available for collection anywhere
Yes slightly worrying I thought olimpic bars weighed 20kg.. this weighs 11.8 mm mmm. Fishy

Yep decent enough for me. Sure they're being extra safe in saying 75kg. Will be able to fit all my 1inch plates too. Yep other similar bars expensive.
This is a good bar for the price, you would pay double elsewhere. Also 75kg is just a safety number and tested at the middle point of the bar which would only count when doing squats. When bench/shoulder pressing you are distributing the weight at 2 points. Lots of reviewers said it's a good strong bar and could hold double that. Just dont load it up and do squats or your plates will end up all over the floor. (shock)
Thanks, using the one that came with my bench rated to 50kg with 60kg on it and wondering if it'll bend soon!
Yep one barbell and 2 clips included Wow voted cold by all, guess everyone's got their barbells or back in the gym
Just need to my myself a power cage with cables now!
https://www.proplatesonline.com/ - I bought from these guys and messaged them for exactly what I wanted. Did a good deal on anything over £200. I went and collected from their warehouse too. Not the easiest thing to handle but they are thin and will last an eternity.
Anyone seen any decent weight deals to go with these?
Ace thanks! Picked up the bar, flat bench and tricep bar
Axle EZ bar in stock too, ordered that and flat bench!!

I can understand people not getting the differences in weight training gear - but why vote if you don't - this is a good price for an Olympic bar with this rating. If you can buy sand filled vinyl plates about 3 inches thick for a fiver congratulations - this is an Olympic bar with a great weight rating and it I didn't already have one I'd have bought in a heartbeat. I have to use a 6ft bar for pressing as my garage is too narrow for 7ft. I think its out of stock now but especially under the current circumstances a good deal. Would love to know from a cold voter what their logic is?
£33 for a standard bar is still a good deal. It's like someone is spamming cold the weights deals
No I should have been clearer, but at at the time there wasn't a cheaper deal anywhere else so all the cold votes was odd but not really surprising, seen good weight deals since and didn't post them, pointless
Was it a 6 foot Olympic bar? I'm pretty sure it wasn't
Got something against having clean teeth? 1 Toothbrush...
A possible slightly diffferent alternative. Unsure of the P&P cost via this store. It is a 7ft power bar. Weighing in at 21.2kg 1500lbs rated (~680kg): https://www.nutri1shop.uk/gym-equipment/123-evinco-black-olympic-power-bar-7ft.html £69.99 + delivery I bought a Evinco 7ft power bar from Muscle Finesse a few years back for under £50. Only seem to do wholesale now. The above store also stocks other Evinco olympic bars. This bit makes me chuckle on the 7ft power bar product page: "The perfect bar for weightlifting in limited training space"
its probably this price because of the 700kg load the bar can hold. Obviously lower ones will cost lesser. The price is still ok, considering the crap thats available on ebay
Haha good work... Lol
Yeah raking it in
