Being healthy and keeping fit is such a terrible thing. Jealous much? I don't do enough myself, I do some but not enough. But why bring people who do more than you down. Much better and healthier than going to the pub everyday. Perhaps you should get yourself one, might cheer you up.

Ta might have to measure it up against the width of a squat rack and see if it would fit inside. Then that's pretty much the whole set up minus a bar and some weights! Hopefully moving into a house with an internal garage next month.... Gym dream is hopefully coming alive!

I ordered £2k's worth of stuff (power rack, plates, dumbbells, etc) about 2 years ago and then some more plates a months back and both times they were fine - everything delivered on time and in good condition.

Actually I've given the company a chance and ordered multiple times from there, and each time a bad experience from it being very late, or customer service being non existent, with actual issues with the weights being warped, cracked and incorrectly drilled "2 inch holes". Pointing out a company bad points is a valid point, to inform other's of potential problems. Just because you think giving out advice to other people is irrelavent, doesn't make it correct. "Superb"

Sure but they should be relevant. You voted a deal as cold just because you had one bad order. That doesn't make this a bad deal nor does it mean everyone else will have a bad experience. Based on that logic no deal would be voted hot because there is a chance something could go wrong. This is a good deal regardless of your one single bad purchase. I was thinking individual squat stands. Put them where I want them. Move them around. Take up lot less room when not needed. Got a half rack now but its a big old cumbersome thing.

Yeah, I'm 6'3 and the safety rails on the rack are just too close using the 6ft bar.

I only got round to opening the packages a week after I got them. I found 3x5kg weights were missing and one of the other weights were chipped. They are refusing to send out the missing weights because their t&c's say I should have checked the goods within 5 days! I paid with PayPal so have raised a dispute

I got all mine fine 2 days after I ordered. I think I saw this Sunday night and ordered then it all came Tuesday afternoon via DPD. I was able to track the delivery and see the arrival time. It came exactly inside the 1 hour slot. The poor guy that delivered it all ran back and forth from his lorry about 5 times lol. Was out of breath when done. I offered help and he said no. The boxes are absolutely battered haha. To be expected though as the weights are only really wrapped in cardboard with some strapping, which people pick them up by mangling the cardboard. Comes as an 8 part package in 8 different boxes/wraps. The only thing with this kit, is I might swap the bar for a 6ft Olympiuc one in the future as I have limited space. Have to see how I get on. Good deal though cheers. Been meaning to buy some stuff for a while.

Damn! Wish I'd known that. Also worth noting they used DPD delivery who managed to completely balls this up. I ended up picking half the package up from a collection point, and the bar had to be delivered separately. they're still telling me I've got something to collect from a depot but I have everything so far..

These are metal weights which is good because they last. Keep clear of vynal weights as they crack and eventually disintergrate. A while back Argos had a sale on weights so it is worth comparing prices.

Weight are weights and as said you can always add more, but the bar would worry me if as said it is hollow, personally would pay a few more quid and get a cast iron set with a good solid bar...

Personally I'd be worried about tripping over all these bits given how clumsey I am, I'd prefer a single cast iron kettlebell - easier on the hands and doubles as a doorstop

You might outgrow 50kg with some exercises but it's a good price for the weight even though they're not cast iron. People that get into this type of stuff build up a collection of weights anyway, you don't throw it in the bin when you buy more weights. This is a beginners set, of course, but 50kg isn't a beginners weight with many exercises.

I wonder, if you doing squatting at home, you probably wont have a rack type of system. So why would you bother with this then?

My head is purely in a 'Longevity' and 'Build Quality' mode. By the sounds of the reviews they are either charcoal or grey... filled with sand or concrete... I wouldnt want to drop/split one, as I wouldnt want the mess - so metal just seems a bit more robust. Although, for my gym room/laminate floor - im thinking plastic might be a little kinder/forgiving to being dropped down.

Vinyl refers to the disks, bars are metal I believe, unsure of the weight of the bar though Nice afterthoughts! What's the benefits of metal over vinyl?

So if you buy two, you'll get the same amount of weights - but you'll also get a spare barbell and two spare dumbells poles. It says "Vinyl" in the title, does that mean the weights are plastic - or the bar? (Or both!?) Usually the bar is a 2kg'ish - would this be different on a vinyl set?

I answer my self here: I spoke to customer services and there is no way that both discounts can apply, so 20% if reserved and paid online or exchange the voucher of which ever value by reserving and paying in the shop instead. She said, but at the shop discretion that both can be used only if the purchase is made in store but only for delivery, delivery fees do apply of course (not sure if 100% correct but I was not even interested about this last option)

Its a typical price for this set. look on Amazon it can be found cheaper. Ive just been buying iron discs and bars from Amazon and Amazon warehouse. Managed to get 2 x 10kg for £18 2 x 20kgs curl bar set for £16 each a 6ft bar for £20 plus other weight sets for crazy prices. Just keep an eye on stuff. Im looking at getting the Fat Gripz, take a look, great reviews.

This deal was posted before. Although argos website shows the 3 sets in cart for £49, when you go to store the total comes up just under £41 for a total of 60Kg weights. I picked up two 4x10kg and 4x5kg couple weeks back.
