Picked up a couple of tubs earlier today. Wish they were this price all the time. Makes nonsense of those supermarkets which sell the 500g tubs for £2.50 AND claim they are half price.

YouTalkinToMe

Oops!

brilly

dont worry - the picture is for 120ml

seanmorris100

Been getting these for a while. The other 500ml tubs are nicer the 2 750ml tubs are okay but nothing on the other ones

YouTalkinToMe

If you read the title carefully, then you'd realise that these are the 750mL tubs, not the 500mL tubs! So in actual fact, you're getting 50% more ice cream than the usual 500mL for £2.50 deal!

VanDutch

Very odd! 8 x 330ml for me

D007

At collection- The parcel was 1 x330ml bottle instead of the pack of 8. Rip off

paulgallon09

"Carb killa"... contains more than three times as much protein as it does carbs. It's not misleading at all. It's the ratio that counts.

dodoegg1

Depends entirely on your goals. If I was on a diet to "kill carbs" then I wouldn't want 7.3g of sugar in my protein shake! This is why this brand irritates me so much. Very misleading. 7.3g is not killing carbs. But for those not looking to lower BF then 7.3g is fine as long as you're having it after your workout. And hopefully not completing the working out and the shake late at night.

tomtomato

There is 35g of sugar in a 330ml can of Coke... so 7.3g for 330ml doesn't seem too bad

These taste really bad. I had one yesterday - which came in the Amazon Sports Nutrition sample box. Bad ingredients too. Personally I think you're much better off having good quality whey protein, quark, strained yoghurt, or other high protein sources if that's what you want/need - than these bars. There are definintely better bars out there for a similar price.

"For Goodness Shakes" can be found for £1 in B&M which have the following stats: 330ml 143.9 Calories 2.1g Fat (1.3g Sats) 10.0g Carbs (8.2g Sugar) 20.0g Protein 2.5g Fibre (Often found for £1 on rotation between supermarkets too). I'd argue that those are better than a Carb Killa shake based on stats. As I said, with Carb Killa's you're paying for the Grenade brand.

catbeans

Fair, I will keep an eye out for them, but I don't have a home bargains near me.

SC84

Lets just compare then Carb Killa (330ml) kCal - 198 Fat - 7.3g (5.0g Saturates) Carbs - 8.9g (8.3g Sugar) Protein - 24g Fibre - 1g Salt - 0.92g USN (330ml) - 99p in Home Bargains all the time kCal - 182 Fat - 0.7g (0.3 Saturates, 0.0 Trans, 0.0 Polyunsaturates & 0.3g Mono-unsaturates, Cholesterol - 0.0mg) Carbs - 16.5g (11.5g Sugar) Protein - 26.4g Fibre - 1.8g Salt - 0.175 I totally see what you mean, Carb Killa stats are "far" better. However in all seriousness there's sod all between them, a touch more sugar, fibre & protein in the USN with less calories, fat & salt. Stats from official websites. As for taste, well that's a personal preference but you don't buy these things for taste.

catbeans

They are high in sugar and often have alot of "bad" fats, such as trans. The other additives (both preservatives and nutritional) aswell are different/worse. Not to mention the taste, alot of cheap protein shakes/bars are very chewy, have alot less protein or have a powdery taste.

SC84

How are the others a "far" worse product? Enlighten me.

I just find it astonishing how there has been a 30000 percent increase in people who are allergic to gluten/wheat etc in the UK in the past 5 years. Surely a worrying statistic? You'd almost think it was just a person trying to make themselves sound interesting or something.

abigsmurf

If you want to make these vegan you can generally replace eggwhites with the water drained from a tin of chick peas that's whipped up a bit. When you whip this, it aerates and thickens in the same way as eggwhites. Can be a handy way of making a vegan, gluten free sponge where you can't easily use raising agents. My mum makes an insanely nice gluten free vegan Lemon drizzle cake (the slightly denser sponge helps trap the drizzle more and makes it incredibly rich)

UK2004
