Citizen AT2381-59E Chronograph Half Price @ Goldsmiths - £125

Mm so moral of the story, ignore rrp and focus on whether the watch is good value at the price offered. I'd say the offer price sounds decent for the watch given what I typically see on here, the watch at rrp would go north pole cold.

Selling at that price then. All places do it. Think amazon recently got in trouble for this in the US

Define sold? It has to have been sold at that price somewhere in their network of stores at some point in time to legally justify the original price. However nobody has to have actually bought it at the price (so is it really sold?), and it could have been sold in 1 store for a week at 250 and legally they can still advertise as half price. Not saying they did that in this instance, I have no idea, just be careful not to take discounts at face value.

Thanks man

Armed and dangerous.

I was excited about it then I found out I already own it but it was a really good game there was another quirky game I can't remember it's name but it was on the original Xbox 3 guys the only thing I remember is 2 odd guns one was a shark gun which shoots shark it looks for a prey then eats them the other one was corkscrew thing which makes everything upside down so everyone u see just goes up in the air..

Very funny game but I think it will be better if it stays in my memories

It may be old but great game, think they tried to do a sequel on Kickstarter but failed to get the funding.

Mate, stop apologising and stand by your opinion! You were absolutely right.

Fully aware of that mate but someone not so watch savvy might think this "Limited Edition Red Arrows 5000 pieces" might be. £339 in the real watch world is peanuts but there was a time when that would've been my top end watch budget. I just know better know which is why I decided (maybe regretfully now) to share my thoughts.

No watch anywhere near this price range would ever be an investment piece.

You have piqued my interest, not sure i can justify it ...Hmmm

This is an absolute steal (y)

Too bad, would have been very good value if it had a sapphire crystal. The face looks near identical to the AT0365-56E but it must be a slightly lower model.

Mine doesn't have it stated, l will return it to the shop tomorrow and wait for the next deal to come along

If it's sapphire crystal it will say so on case back. Attached picture is AT0365-56E, see 'sapphire' on left side of picture

Mine arrived yesterday. The dial is a little smaller and the strap a little narrower than I expected, but otherwise happy :)

After been long wait, just now i got a email from amazon to confirm they are going to deliver it tomorrow. wow :D. What about you guys?

There was a time long ago when the use of Arabic numerals was declared heretical by - I think - the Catholic church

Great price. Clean understated look.

That's handy to know! Wonder how that extends to the rest of their watches. It would be a deal breaker on their more expensive satellite watches that's for sure.

don't know how you got that from my comment.

Ah ok I thought you meant you'd paid £100 mine was only £60 so pointless changing a capacitor

my watch cost a lot more than £100, and is still in great condition due it being titanium and sapphire glass. £100 one of these would look 8yrs old pretty quickly. it was worth paying the money for the capacitor. you will need to replace yours at some point.

I would say after 8 years you might as well buy a new one for a hundred quid I've had an eco-drive for about that long and haven't had to replace anything the chronograph doesn't work properly but I've never used it anyway

That's unfortunate. That's my main concern too, the black G shock look. Guess I'll find out tomorrow and can always return it.

I sent mine back - I found the face too busy and the time not that easy to quickly glance at. I also thought that the black finish of the strap made it look a bit like a G Shock from a distance.

A version of this watch which automatically accounts for daylight saving would be nice. It's just about the only thing you have to think about with these GPS watches.

This is my every day watch, I have a decent collection of watches. From the expensive ones down to a few old citizens. I also have a few G-shocks GW-A1000FC-1A4ER, G-7900, GW-7900-1ER and GA-1000-4AER. I like the G-shocks, great for work.

GPS & MB6 will still be working fine for a long time, along with the solar charging, and keep it as the most accurate watch, outdoing others costing much more. Also the cost of servicing your Omega every 3-5 years will outstrip the depreciation of the Casio. Especially if you only paid half price like I did ;) Watches are a very personal choice though... Enjoy yours (y)

I'm not saying it won't be working in 10 years But as its a tech watch, the tech will be improved on. The Omega is a classic watch, which will hold its value and will still be a wearable collectors piece in 10 years.

I've a few of the AT watches including the Red Arrows and Blue Angels. I sold another AT watch on eBay, and nearly got what I paid for it 8 years ago. This watch originally released for £1000.

The citizen eco drive watches are great quality. Ive had one for over ten years and its been faultless. I was concerned at first about the battery charging with everyday use, especially in winter when its mostly covered but it has never failed to charge. I just wonder how much longer the battery will last as its over ten years old now which is good for a rechargable battery.

Apologies if I've flouted any site rules on duplicate posts. It's just that the deal is still running and I was just trying to make sure members didn't miss it. Newbies eh!

I don't know what the average lifespan is.. i've known of some to die in under 7 years. I've also known many that still run 15 years later. It's just a rechargeable lithium cell, it's fair to say it will go eventually. I believe most of the cells used are rated to have 100+ cycles. However this means it will have 80% capacity at 100 cycles, not that it will die at 100 cycles. The capacity will keep getting lower beyond 100 cycles although the user will not notice initially because even a small capacity is enough to get you through the night. Best way to prolong the cell life is to keep it topped up and avoid deep discharge. ie when you're not wearing it leave it in view of a window, don't store in a box.

In search of something similar but with automatic movement, I've found this and created a post :) I've tried it myself yesterday and it looks good!

I'll happily vouch for eglobal too as had a few things from them now and never had a problem at all. Didn't realise they sell watches though! I've got a black and gray NATO strap on my SKX007, looks very smart; ironically I have had more people ask about it than I have about other watches that cost 20+ times as much!

I'd personally recommend eglobal, lots of people on trust pilot complaining about import tax put me off creation, apart from that they look the part. But the reviews aren't great. eglobal I can vouch for like yourself having never paid any tax on many thousands of pounds of orders including both varients of the non jap SKX. Cheapest way to get a jap version is from ebay the ireland sellers, get the rubber band version then slap it on a nice strapcode.

And people used to pay extra to have a "dead second" complication on their automatic watches. The more things change ;)

I don't get this. I agree in the past they have not been great but in my experience on here over the last 18 months they have not been as you suggest. Got some really decent deals from them as well as recommending others to friends Argos have done a fair few false priced items, almost weekly pre black Friday. I got caught ordering two that were cancelled. Even though they may have mined my data I didn't get any promotions off them over black Friday. Feel people are using an old stereotype and continuing it. As for this deal. Not one for me as not a fan of the watch, though am in the market for a new one.

£347 is fantastic!!

Nope, the Samuels offer was the JY0100-59E. This Very offer is the JY0110-55E which in fairness to the OP at £499 is about the cheapest you’ll find at the moment (in stock anyway). House of Fraser had for £347 recently which was a cracking offer.

I think the only difference is the material. Stainless steal/titanium. But I could be wrong

Still waiting for the a decent price for the at4007! which was £235 over Christmas gutted I missed it. Now waiting for the at4008 as well because they are such a lovey looking watch hopefully price will go down soon! Also got my heart set on the at4010 but I can never see the price dropping on that it is basically a American model ;(

Citizen GPS watches are great. I recently bought this one in the U.S. at a Citizen store for £420 (converted from US$). They simply rip us off in Europe with the prices (mad)

This seems right around my budget, have wanted a decent watch for a while, but I've been waiting for ever for the 10% off code, just doesn't seem to be coming. Anyone have a spare?

By the way this does have anti reflective sapphire glass. I thought it did and it was stated on Amazon but I wanted confirmation and it doesn't seem to be on citizen's UK page, but found it on the German site!

I agree, most definitely a difference, this particular post is a ‘deal’ if compared to most other retailers current price, considering it as a bargain is purely a subjective opinion.

And now sold out it seems, as only the black ion plated version is still on their website this morning. Hope I get a despatch email.........

Thanks OP, just purchased this. 10% email sign up code worked and then saved a further 12.5% by buying a £265 gift card through a work scheme. For those not in such a scheme, there are online companies like Zeek, selling gift vouchers for 8 to 10% discount. Anyway, my total cost just over £232 with free delivery this Saturday. I looked at the black ion plated version for another £30, but personally preferred this one with the green highlighting on the dial, but we are all different. Heat added!

Yep and the 10% coupon they email you can be used both online and in store

Citizen mineral crystals are reasonably scratch resistant. Nothing special. Perfectly adequate on a £99 watch, but not so good on a £499 or £295 watch. FYI you cannot polish one of these crystals with toothpaste. That only works with soft crystals (eg acrylic) you got on older watches, cheap Casio's etc.

I've had a few of these watches, and never. marked the glass. However I also bought my nephew one and he did scratch his. Though he breaks phones, TV's and anything else he touches. I did fix his with toothpaste, to polish out his scratch.
