If anyone is after this watch, Peter Jones in London has one in stock. They had 2 but I bought the other one. Thx to O.P.

There is the black one which was listed on here a few days ago, for £230.

OOS now

This will be my 3rd citizen. Have been waiting for the radio controlled ones to come down in price a bit.

Enjoy, I know I am with mine (y)

Lol. I don't really wear watches anymore - even for work. I generally wear this one for holidays. When I need to keep an eye on the time. Catch a plane, etc. Over the years I think I've worn this particular watch alittle more than you, about 15-20 times.

Got mine from Amazon a few years ago. Great watch and time keeping but the strap brought me out in a rash so was changed to a steel one.

I bought that too... I've hardly ever worn it. 4 times maximum...

I have a Citizen Eco Drive and never knew I had to put it on the window ledge to charge up! Mind you the battery is fine but will now give it a charge I think!

when low power it moves two spots but still in time

No, they’ve had several with similar reductions in the last week. They just don’t tend to have much stock so you need to be quick. Worth keeping an eye on it as stock can come back in sometimes

Maybe it was a misprice.

Saying there's a difference between the 4 people who obviously recognised it as a good deal and the majority of people on HUKD who think a Casio reduced from £7 to £5 is a great buy. On the whole expensive watches posted on HUKD go cold. Half price Dunkin Donuts reach 1000 degrees............

4 sold in minutes, saying :/

Great price. Will struggle to get warm on here though :)

I did a list of quite a few last night :( (deleted) but Low-High is here

Which model is it?

Another round of reductions across the board a few days ago Louise. Even cheaper now. Be giving them away soon

This one is $28.50 (was $29.99) now, maybe because it's the last one? Or maybe prices are dipping anyway, as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I had a bunch of these in my basket and noticed there has been quite a price drop on many of them overnight. Already great value and just got better. The four we have bought have dropped by over $17, but can't complain really.

IIII it is watch maker`s way of displaying 4. Its not a mistake, this way of displaying is only found on watches, I think it looks great.

Taken from Wikipedia ‘Clock faces that use Roman numerals normally show IIII for four o’clock but IX for nine o’clock, a practice that goes back to very early clocks such as the Wells Cathedral clock of the late 14th century.’

Sounds like he did a bad job then if luxury Time Piece makers like Rolex feel the need to change it.

What have the Romans ever done for us?

20 × I 4 × V 4 × X That's the traditional pattern, as in production, for numerals. No odd numbered items i.e. 17 × I, 5 × V, 4 × X.

Back in stock at Goldsmiths still £289. Grab yourself a bargain. XD Possible 10% quidco, but going by the reviews I wouldn't count on that. Mine's being delivered today (Goldsmiths) but still haven't cancelled my Amazon order. No idea why :D

This is my favourite watch that I own, better than some I paid twice as much for

More info in the manual about that.

Does the radio only works in UK and US? In Casio's radio watch it mentions UK, US, Germany, China, Japan. But from what I saw on the face of this Citizen, there are only LON and 4 more US cities.

Yes it is. The blue trim with it looks stunning and the metal detailing on the face really catches and reflects the light. If I hadn't just got the solar RC Casio Edifice from this post I'd of bought this.

+ crocodile skin strap ;)

Here is the gold version. Even more ugly. States it is sapphire. Not that it’s anymore trustworthy than Amazon’s description.

Whare? I looked on Amazon and its stated as mineral glass.

Strange thing with Citizen, the large second hand is for the stop watch (stationary unless using stop watch), the smaller one in the lower dial is the one that keeps the current time.

Ernest Jones are happily sending out ex display stock. It's a lottery if you get an unworn new one. Also check your warranty card, if it's not stamped it don't count.

I meant calendar including week days as I some time loose track.

When did diamond become a metal??? I think you'll find it's a mineral. But you are correct that it is the hardest known material.

Do you mean a date display? If so it does display the date!

Ion plated means it is harder than diamond which is the hardest metal in the world I think. It’s like 10 on the Beaufort scale of hardness. Super tough. Great find OP.

Watch doesn't look as good in reality. Can't see the detail. Just looks like a black lump on wrist with a green ring on it.

Received mine today but not happy. Badly packed for posting with DX - the worst courier ever. Outer Citizen box is dirty. Watch has no protective plastic on watch face, back or buckle. No tag. Worst yet is back of watch is badly scratched and dented. This is a used watch! Never again.

I don’t think this one is active anymore, when I click on the deal it’s showing a slightly different model with a metal strap.

Its really not. Look at Zeek. You select the 2 vouchers pay for them, then use them on the site. It would take 5 minutes to do start to finish.

do i need another watch? lol

Except that replacing a standard quartz battery is very easy to do yourself, they cost very little, and so do seals/gaskets. Can buy bulk packs of watch seals off eBay for next to nothing. Same with the grease. And unless you do a lot of diving/water activities whilst wearing a watch, then it doesn’t really matter. Unless you have an expensive watch that cost over a grand or so, then it’s best to just get it serviced at a registered jeweller or service centre to retain the lifetime warranty.

I have an eco-drive that is 18 yrs old - keeps perfect time and never had a battery problem - unlike my Seiko kinetic that needed a new battery /capacitor after 4 years

Eco-Drive is solar...there are testified examples of them going 20yrs down the track...deffo expect 10-15yrs. Trouble with standard quartz (got nothing against them), is that every 2-5yrs, you have to replace the battery, compromising the seal and thus requiring recertification+possible new seal £££.

Interesting, so solar power is best then?

I really don’t understand the fuss about eco drive watches. They eventually need to have the rechargeable cell inside replaced, and this can be a lot more expensive than replacing a normal watch battery every few years. I read that someone contacted Citizen on a new battery only to be told that they could not source any further replacements as it had been discontinued... I would rather get this model and put a new battery in myself that only costs a couple of quid when it needs replacing.
