Thanks OP, was going to get the B&Q 4500BTU R407C model for £147 before I saw your post. It's not bad for a 5000BTU unit, it is quite compact and not that heavy at 16KG, it uses R410A though I am not sure it uses evaporation as it has a water full warning LED so may need draining. It's an Arlec PA0501GB. It has a window kit printed on the box, this is not included, only the exhaust hose with fittings is included. It is for a small bedroom which is usually the warmest room in the house, seems to cool just fine from 30°C to 22°C in about 20 minutes set at full speed and minimum temp (16°C). Of course it's nowhere as good as the 12000BTU Electrolux in my living room but then for £150 I was not expecting too much.

Not much use in the UK.

Agree, not a good idea. It could end up costing you a new roof.

logicalman Better deal?

5000 BTU ... well enough to keep a downstairs cloakroom cold then ...

I have 3 portable units and the Igenix is the quietest. Having said that I do not sleep well with it running due to the noise. I find it best to seal the room as best as you can and run it to cool the room before going to sleep.

Ceiling fan works well, cheap to run and no vent but I guess this is cheap so hot for that.

These are too noisy to sleep. Leave your window open, Squire

Yes, unless sweating like Satan's ball sack is your peferred method of sleeping (y) (devil)

Do you need more than a fan in this country? At home anyway.

£5 in Home Bargains

Not cheap at all , been buy instore at Costco for £5.50 for years .

Good in general, of course you have an annual membership fee to pay but I’ve had that back in savings ten fold.

45 wash that one it's not as concentrated if you look at the picture

That is Comfort Professional 45 wash. "Professional" means watered down, the fabric softener dispenser in my washing machine is miles too small to hold the amount you are supposed to add for a standard wash. I believe the comfort professional concentrate version is the same strength as the standard non-concentrate comfort, so would at least fit in a standard washing machine dispenser. Here you go 110ml for a 4-5kg wash! I think regular comfort is 35ml for a 4 - 5 kg wash.

They emailed back pretty quickly, but I didn't notice the reply till now - this probably accounts for the Cold votes! The timestamp for my email is 11.38am. "Due to unprecedented demand, we are now out of stock of samples. We apologise for any disappointment caused."

These "blue" shampoos and conditioners (I think that's how Whitehothair samples are anyway) are good for bleached blondes as well :) Think people are voting it cold because you have to email for a sample - maybe. I'm pretty sure I've applied for this Freebie ages ago - that may be why - so not sure I'll get mine. But it only takes a few seconds to send! Hard to tell on here sometimes! Gave you heat! :)

no idea, I give up

Currently the best price by a small margin I can find for a new unit of this output. I seem to recall these sold out quickly when the hot weather hit last year, I think they only … Read more

Just noticed CPC do a wall mounted unit for £438 here: Which I've managed to find a little cheaper here for £413: This is definitely a minefield for those who haven't had one of these before. The last thing I want to do is start drilling holes, fit it all up to find it's useless, and then have to start taking it all back down again (horror)

I've been after one of these for some time, and I hate leaving it until the Summer to purchase as you usually end up paying more. I had one bookmarked at Amazon, but they've since sold out but it was on offer a few months back on a Lightning Deal for around £200 which I'm gutted I missed out on - The reviews are also very good. My bedroom is quite small, so placement of such a device would be challenging in itself. I have a wireless digital thermometer, which registers temp outside as well as in. As my room has 3 walls facing outside, it gets crazy hot - I'm talking enough to start sweating the moment you enter. It's like opening an oven door the minute you walk in. I can't keep the window open all night unless I fancy creating a mosquito's dream, and mosquito nets I've purchased in the past were just not up to the job. Plus I've found it rarely drops the temp enough to make it comfortable. Last night the temperature in my room was 29.4 degrees c. It's painfully hot. I can't keep doing this year after year, so I'll be making a purchase soon - I just need to do some thorough investigation. As I said, space is extremely limited. If I purchased one of this design, it would mean it having to be less that 20cm deep as my bed is next to the window and I'd probably need an extension for the hose. My only other option is to buy one that goes through the wall, and is attached to it. But again, these are very expensive, but would fix a number of issues, but the mess created would probably make me cry. I've only recently had it decorated and should have done it then. It would be very hard for me to move things out of my room while I did the work needed. Does anyone know of recommendations for makes / models for wall mounted units?

Next day delivery is £16.95 I think 48 hr workday day is 9.95 I think, 3-5 working day is free.

Anyone know if CPC do next day delivery? I cannot see the delivery options unless I put in card details :/

Good price for this unit, especially compared to Amazon. Don't worry about stock, Amazon will just whack the price up to £430 when time comes. That should stop it selling out.

The Asda 2.9l for £3 is for normal not concentrated. So by maths Asda 83 washes works out at3.6p a wash and the amazon 22 wash at 88p is 4p a wash. Would much rather have it delivered......

They have a 2.9litre bottle at Asda for £3 at moment. Some one has posted it on hot deals

Yep. Online and instore

Thanks for posting this great Amazon deal. I wouldn't dream of wasting time and money to go into a town. I get the stuff delivered. You poundland-types are quite welcome to your zombie-apocalypse shopping experience.

Shampoo and conditioner set - only £3.99 delivered Dispatched from and sold by Innox Trading - Amazon
Found 14th MayFound 14th May
Found this shampoo and conditioner set on Amazon. It used to be 19.99 but now is down to 3.99 + Free Delivery Definitely worth buying if you are in need for this

Is it me or does Innox Trading have a following from new members who come and go or as in the case of some members just post for each of their own Amazon brands. I get the impression that they have a department that likes to masquerade as 'genuine' customers but aren't so. As above cold as it was cheaper recently and Charcoal shampoo like all the other charcoal fads are just feeding a pointless and ineffective trend

£19.99 isn't the old price, it "used" to be £9.99 (though I doubt it was ever sold at even this price)

Changed the price now. And might be good to know for people that missed it yesterday

Not free

You can cook with it on a sunny day ;)

Works out at £1.50 a bottle for 500ml shampoo and conditioner. Allows you to add 12 to your basket. With Poundland up for sale and Poundworld going bust, this is a good price without shrinkflatation as £1 shampoos are a rarity for 500ml these days

Charcoal is the next fad thing so it seems. This isn't a dig at the original poster btw but my god, it is everywhere!

You could always clean your teeth with it..

Thats why its £2.99 i expect .

I have bought this before and when I used it, it felt like I hadn't washed my hair at all. I only used it the once.
