All colours are available, you use to be able to pay 10£ from the tablet to remove ads (if the price hasn’t changed)? 64gb (then select colour)…

How is the charging port on these? We had a couple of 7" Fire tablets years back, and they were a nightmare to charge. Cable would never sit right, so you could leave it thinking it was charging, only to find it was dead in the morning! Also, is there an app you cna use to play downloaded films (mp4/mpeg/avi etc) without having to sideload Google play and use MX Player etc? I'm out of the country for work for a while, so it will be my wife that sets this up for our daughter and I need to make it as simple as possible for her!

I p/xed my Fire 10HD for a voucher because it had stareted to become glitchy after two years unlocked by Toolbox and I wanted a Firestick HD for my thrre year old TV I did have to spend £180 but my new Blackview Tab 11 is more than twice as good for my needs. I tried the new 2022 Fire 10HD before buying the Tab 11 but returned 2022 Fire 10HD as it was still lacking in Ram and the Sim card functionality of the Tab 11 was what finally decided me.

I voted hot thinking this was the current gen version. As it's last gen it only has 2gb of ram. This is a fair price but latest Fire 10 is way better.

Only 2Gb...?

Ah, my mistake. Didn't read 500mb up/down in the description (embarrassed)

But OpenReach don't do symmetrical speeds do they? I'm with them and all I could get via their partners was 1Gb/110Mb. I keep checking and Cityfibre are literally 3 streets away so I hope my area is next!

No, Openreach too. They did my install of this a couple of weeks ago. (y)

Please note, your monthly bill will increase by £3 a month after your initial contract.

No it covers Openreach also. Based on my location showing the deal is available.

Problem with this is that apps stop working when the iPad isn't able to be updated to the latest iOS version. I have an iPad air which is perfectly fine (still fast, screen amazing) but doesn't support Disney+ or iPlayer. Very frustrating.

I think these are awful compared to the previous ones. Battery is pathetic, and I only use it for reading

Yes that the reason ive gone off Fire Tablets, you cant rely on Fire Toolbox anymore because it isnt permenant - it worked for about 1-2 months then would revert to its factory settings, plus as mentioned it doesnt work properly with newer firmware now. Without sounding like the "buy a 2nd hand BMW" person... If you are just wanting something basic for the kids to use or watch youtube on, consider an ipad mini 2 (i bought one for £40 last month on ebay) or a samsung tab A7 lite for a similair price. Neither of which have all the bloatware that a Fire tablet does. The ipad has the advantage of a much higher resolution screen and is buttery smooth still, despite being a much older device.

yeah as long as you don't get up to v7.3.2.2 you should be ok. knackered if you do get it. although tbf you can still mostly debloat even with v7.3.2.2 so it's not the end of the world, just can't make a custom launcher stick

Thinner and lighter This new addition of Amazon's popular Fire 7 Tablet is thinner and lighter, but it's just as resilient as ever. Small enough to easy fit in a handbag or wallet, the Fire…

It's not an investment, it's £27 for something that will be thrown around for the kids for two years in exchange for peace on car journeys.

I understand that but I've just given you an example why such tablets should exist IMO. The normal size tablet is too big for my little boy. My phone too expensive. So, something like this, cheap and small ticks the boxes.

It's fine for that ! The 26.99 price is for collect at store (shows 31.99 until you add code) The code FREENEXTDAYDEL gets £5 off at checkout (even for collect at store !)

No I wouldn't but the product was not posted by the OP as something suggested exclusively for a small child. I was just commenting that in my opinion the viewing experience on a 7 inch product is not greatly differently from a 6 inch one. (y)

Will you give your 6 inch possibly expensive phone to a 4 year old to watch cartoons, or a 7 inch cheap tablet? I've given my phone to my child and will not happen again. Also, don't like to carry a big phone and when I go away, I put the tablet in the hand luggage.

1gb RAM slows it down

It is cheap? Yes it is. i bought one and returned it straightaway as is slugish as hell

You can usually get these for £29 and as mentioned above they are slow running..

I have a couple that I use as dumb displays. They really are *painfully* slow to use. Hard to recommend, even at this price.
