showing as £1.59 for me. looks like a poor mans Tasker.

My xiaomi has automation built in under the settings I see. It's based on time so not really the same thing.. Macro droid looks good and I did try android auto for a while as that has automation for when driving but that's is very unstable on my xiaomi

Ifttt works well for me and it's got independent developers so you can automate hive/nest etc.

Same. I leave my WiFi and Bluetooth on all day. WiFi helps with geo- location. Plus, I'm always connected to WiFi at home and work. I always have access to charging facilities but my S8+ always lasts a day or more in Performance Mode (Entertainment Mode) with everything on. I do use the automation tool called 'MacroDroid' to set Media Volume to maximum when it connects to my in-car Bluetooth as well as opening Waze. When I turn the car off and subsequently the Bluetooth disconnects, the phone sets itself to Vibrate, Media Volune to zero and it shut down Waze. Another variation is to start Spotify or Mixcloud during connection. Automation can be very handy.

I have to ask.. Why? I just leave WiFi and Bluetooth on permanently. Phone manages it now and battery drain is minimal over 24h. Just asking as I find it fascinating what some do with the settings and apps, although I don't think there is right or wrong way.. Just our way :)

Gamestick Console (Android) £7.99 pre-owned @
Found 23 h, 29 m agoFound 23 h, 29 m ago
Not sure how good these are. But going by some websites these are very good for retro console games like Mega Drive, SNES ect. Kodi can also be installed onto it apparently.

Bought one of these about three years back in the USA for the equivalent of a tenner. Much better off getting a GemBox

I owned one of these about 2 years ago and it was very slow then, worth the money however just for the Bluetooth controller which weren't actually too bad. Throw the Android device away though and get yourself a £30 mecool box instead....

Yeah, got mine running Android, Kodi and the ouya front end!

Pour a wee drop petrol on it and throw a match at it, I'm sure it'll flash then.

Similar to what happened to mine last year, controller wouldnt pair so i couldnt complete setup. Took it back for a refund.

have you got one? whats the camera like? and battery life? I completely agree with you tho

Get a lg g5 for 120£, Snapdragon 820, 4gb ram or 3 can't remember, dual camera, removable battery, can get excellent condition ones for 140 mark, why do people have to get new especially with mid or low budget phones these are going to tend to last less time usable then a flagship. Flagship still usable up to 4 year mark (apar From battery but can change on g5) and a mid or low tier 2 year mark it will become too sluggish

Pretty much I was interested until I saw that pile of rubbish. Too many mid range devices are ruined by Snapdragon 4XX SoCs.

I contacted the seller and these are open box new... (highfive)

Yep it's not a bad looking device and no doubt the camera and screen will be a decent standard but that 435 is going to chug. I can understand a budget device will have compromises but imo a 4xx processor shouldn't be one of them.

This Android 8 Go Edition mobile hopefully supports Project Treble. Project Treble aims to make it easier to support and update the firmware once support is abandoned by OEM. Your older mobile does not have it. Hence, alot of work and skill and huge amount of time is required to support your Vodafone 15 quid mobile. Please google Project Treble for more.

I've took the plunge and purchased one!!

As it is a different phone with different hardware it would need different drivers. I have flashed some amazon tablets before but they are custom roms designed for each tablet. It is presumably much different to Windows where you can install a generic operating system and it will automatically find drivers.

Just wondering, is it possible to install/flash the Android go image on another phone i got off Vodafone for £15 about 1. 5 years ago? It has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB memory. OTherwise it is slow as treacle. Would be good to try out, if anyone technical enough can guide. Can bring it back to life.

Going by the MASSIVE influx of refurbished iPhone's upon HUKD alone, I'd rather take my £1000 away from such Phone's to be honest?. (cheeky) And put it towards a 'refurbished' CAR instead? :o hehehehehe. (flirt)

I’m trying my luck via AliExpress. Almost the same pricing, here’s hoping it arrives without any nasty surprises (embarrassed)

A great controller. I used this to complete Celeste on the Switch (a fairly difficult game) and had no problems whatsoever. While the d-pad isnt perfect, it is MUCH better than the one on the official Switch Pro controller. It pairs with the Switch straight out of the box. You are able to turn the console off with the controller, however you CANNOT wake the console with the controller and so will have to press the power button on the Switch to wake it. The best feature for me though is that I can pair this with multiple devices at once. For me this is: 1: Nintendo Switch 2: PC 3: SNES Mini with 8bitdo dongle. You can switch between all devices really easily without having to pair each time. When you turn the controller on, you just hold a button down that represents the device you will be using it on, i.e hold down "Y" for Switch, "X" for PC, then press the "Start" button. It will automatically go into the correct mode without having to pair each time for different devices. It also remembers the last device you used it with so only need to press the "Start" button to go back into the last used mode. A very well made controller. It supports everything the official Switch PRO controller does EXCEPT NFC (only useful for scanning amibos). Its not as comfy as a PRO controller, but if you have ever used a SNES controller then you know what to expect. Hope this is useful.

yes, but it'll take a few weeks

im sorry to hear that, i would open that case immediately, you've already waited 3 months thats more than generous imo. Also in my experience paypal almost always side with the buyer so i'd like to think you'll have a good chance of getting your money back. good luck (y)

Anything above a mid-volume- No!

Can you hear outside noise though? Like cars? I'm after some that will be good for cycling.

For those of you who were wondering like me if the reviews were fake, they are mostly genuine:

I have these (i think, or a similar model) bought for a similar price from Amazon about a year ago. only use them at the gym First 2 weeks they were amazing, then for about a month they were playing up, anytime my arms would pass my neck, for example Lat pulldowns, Shoulder presses etc my sound would stutter or jump/stop completely. No idea what would cause it and it used to annoy the hell out of me, then out the blue it just stopped doing it and hasnt happened for a very long time. Hold their charge quite well too.

Thought it was absolutely typical, just bought these Monday on a daily deal - but that's the newer model, although I can't see many differences other than a different in-line control and a claimed 8hr battery life vs 6hr on these. To echo some comments from above though, although they do come with a variety of interchangeable buds they all have the ear hook on, so if you don't want these for sport you might want to look elsewhere. The SoundPEATS Q30 are the same price (as the newer TaoTronics) and come with a load of different buds with and without the hook. I swapped mine with some I had on a pair of unused wired headphones and am fairly happy with them now, but it can be a little awkward to achieve a tight seal. Once you've got that though they do sound very good, somewhat surprisingly.

I think Sam of London has a grievance with the world.. They are forever posting negative comments on my posts, I usually just amuse him/her by thanking them.. There's no other way but sarcasm... Your statement is so meaningless. Aliexpress is a marketplace for starters, it would be like stating Ebay takes 3 months to post something, what seller is your issue actually with? and furthermore its also not typical to take this long regardless, something has gone wrong with your order, these things happen with all sellers.

All I'm trying to point out is that when topics like this get discussed to death on hifi forums and the people who really care about music quality on the forums can't agree on this subject then flac is wasted on probably nearly all of the population and large parts of the remaining few are deluded anyway. I'm probably the most fussy person I know when it comes to music and equipment. If Shure SE535's Ltd and B&W PX headphones on a quad dac player aren't enough then I guess flacs are even more pointless than I already thought they were. It's simply a waste of money to most people and I encourage them to try the online tests before spending their money. If they can't spot the difference side by side then there's absolutely no chance they will truly tell the difference in real use. There comes a point when sound quality is so good that audiophiles are playing spot the difference for the sake of it instead of enjoying the music.

What I want to point out is if you can barely hear the differences because of your ears or the gears you have, simply just enjoy what you have, MP3 isn’t by any means bad at all. However, If you don’t mind to pay more, there is nothing wrong with flac or even SACD too, as long as you enjoy.

I don't really get what you mean by too complicated. I've pretty much got everything covered. I don't get why people are chasing flac files and raving about bluetooth aptx HD. If a person is satisfied with bluetooth I'd recommend not bothering with flac. The difference for me is way bigger between wired and bluetooth than good mp3 and flac. Another bigger issue is the quality of the original recording of which nothing can be done about at consumer level For me concentrating so hard to hear the tiny difference between good mp3 and flac kind of removes the pleasure of listening to the music and just enjoying it.

The things a lot of people didn't realize is to really enjoy or at least able listen hi-res music requires good gears (speakers/headphones, dac, amp), good recorded albums, environment and a good pair of ears (perhaps with some training too...). If you think to fulfill all these are too complicated, then might as well just stick to mp3.

There are quite a few tests online to see if you can tell the difference with audio quality. Have a go and I think most people will fail miserably. At least you'll know if you are wasting your money by keeping the subscription. 3 months free is a no brainer though and obviously a good deal! TBH I failed most flac tests. I use shure Se535 limited edition earphones and Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones wired on a quad Dac player. I think there's a bigger difference between wired and Aptx HD bluetooth than there is in decent mp3 and flac. I'd go wired every time despite my headphones and device having Aptx HD bluetooth. I don't care if my stream is Flac or good mp3. I'm as guilty as the next man for wasting money but go for whatever floats your boat in life if you can afford it.

I wouldn't recommend downloading it, just answered the question. For any app to use the light it either needs root permission or the permission of the camera

Are you sure? The LED light on my phone works without the camera. The camera is an app that uses the LED light, but I wouldn't say the light is part of the camera. Like others have said, most phones don't need an app to turn on the LED light so why download something which takes space and risks malware / data sharing if not necessary?

The led light in your phone is part of the camera

Yes I agree. I certainly don't need it.

That was a brilliant deal for that price!

Mine is the 6gb/128gb model, not global as I'm not too fussed about band 20. It cost me £210 from gearbest before Christmas. I have the nationwide banking app installed and it runs fine, NFC and Google pay both work flawlessly

I can't speak for Ulefone, however they seem to be a vastly budget minded company, probably just using cast off components to build budget phones. For the detractors of Xiaomi phones though...I can see Xiaomi hitting the UK mainstream market within the next year. You will soon see them being sold on the UK high street, much in the same vein as Huawei, or OnePlus; who started out as a relative unknown and are now competing with the big dogs. I have bought a few Xiaomi for myself as well as family, and they are solid phones for the cost. They're wildly popular in China, so the quality and expectation of them is a lot higher than most of the other "weirdly-named" China phones. I also read recently that Xiaomi are considering buying the GoPro company, so it's not as if they're a fly-by-night outfit. They are big contenders in the tech market, and gaining more traction everyday.

I have this phone. Really good phone for the price but as metioned the specs are not as good as it is on the paper. But still much better than other phones on the market. The screen is really good and the battery does last 2-4 days depending on use. The camera is not that great but most of the chinese phones are the same. I haven't seen any software glitches so far. It runs pure android and promised to get latest android update. Only glitch I have seen is, when you restart your phone, the shortcuts rearranges itself. I have run many games but works really well. I suggest checking out videos on youtube for battery, camera and speed performance.

Had mine 2 days now & happy so far. One "issue" that's worth knowing is when I hooked the phone up to my car bluetooth system it was registering for voice (phone calls only) but wouldn't play music. Quick google search later & I found a forum where the same problem was described and solution was just to reboot the phone after pairing. Tried this & it did indeed do the trick all good since then :-)

Got mine today and there's one stuck pixel in the middle, slightly to the right. Probably wouldn't notice in daily use on the sort of brightness level I use (approx 1/3). However, once you know it's there it bugs you. So giving one of the pixel fixer apps a go. Unlikely to work but worth a shot prior to any exchange. Dunno what JL's policy is on pixels but they are usually good on returns. That said I returned the previous phone I bought from them last year (G6), so they might not take kindly to a new request.

Didn't know front of phone was going to be shiny blue

That's not the point though is it. I'd rather know up front. Casting to a TV without WiFi does not work.

Most modern phones don't come with HDMI out. Some tablets do though. You can cast to TVs these days and that has replaced cables.
