If you get a phone that has Camera2.0 API baked into the ROM, or can be enabled, you can just use the RAW image ("what the sensor saw") The JPEG is just the (over)processed image, nothing to do with the camera. (y) Sadly most manufacturers don't enable it, even though it's trivial to and most (all?) phone cameras support it.
Cold. I got the P20 Pro for this price
I had just about decided to get the p20 because of the camera but a lot of my pictures will be of my 1 year old who never sits still leading to blurry photos on my current phone(Nokia 7+) Have many People had the same experience as above of the p20 not being a good point and shoot camera? If so, Amy recommendations for this type of camera for a similar budget? I won't be taking too many serious photos but lots of family pics and I want them to be nice and clear and detailed. Thanks.
I had actually considered the U11 myself, what put me off it was actually that fingerprint magnet of the back, looks amazing I admit until you touch it! I actually like a fingerprint scanner on the rear rather than on the front though so that put me off also. But yeah nothing that excels in everything just yet, they all have something that you just have to "live with". Had high hopes for that Essential device, though it seems to have been plagued with issues.
just got the email~ thanks OP for highlighting the £4 play store credit as I probably wouldn't have noticed
the 5TB is only split as 1TB per user. You need to use 5 separate email addresses to access that all. Way too much hassle
Yep got the email this morning, mucho gracias. Now where to spend the £4, any decent widget apps?
This is the follow on email announcing upgrade complete. It has a £4 freebie link in it. I'm guessing the its a slow roll out so if you haven't had it yet just wait.
How are we getting the initial app in the UK? VPN?
Sorry... The sweet spot IMHO is 128GB and 8GB memory. This is just way too much for the 6 versus the 6T. You'd be better paying the same for the 6T with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage...
I use Bluetooth headphones so the socket is not selling it to me. Notification light is ok. Battery is important though. Still not got my heart set on the 6t it's just currently one I'm thinking about
Get it. The OnePlus 6T doesn't have a 3.5mm jack and it doesn't have a notification light either. There's too many compromises on the OnePlus 6T just for the sake of a bigger battery.
I thought this was the 6t for a moment and it was a what the f moment. Then I realised :( the wait continues
It is one of the fastest charging phones around with big battery to boot. It's the first phone (my Oneplus 5) in 13y I haven't carried around a battery bank or charger with. No worries around battery life but will wait few months for the 7! As processor on 6T is same as 6. But yes i too would have preferred to keep the Jack.
I think it really comes down to the mastering and I suspect some authors are still getting to grips with HDR in general. There seems to be a wide variation in brightness levels, saturation etc, but I’ve yet to find anything unwatchable, certainly not on Apple TV. I’ve no need to use the Netflix app on the TV, as Netflix on Apple TV is a far slicker experience. All that said, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the DV implementation on the TV. In fact, I think the DV profile is validated by Dolby itself. Why don’t you post your picture settings from your DV profile and I’ll take a look?
I have found the picture very dark and large parts of the content I have watched. For example on the Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix. The majority of it seems to be unnaturally dark and also the coolour pallet very washed out looking with a near green hue(although this may actually be a filter on the camera and intentional). My my wife was watching Sabrina, the new Netflix show and she turned it off as she thought there was something wrong with it. She said there’s something wrong with the colour and it’s constantly dark. This was using the the built in Netflix app and to be fair there was huge improvement when switched to the app on ATV4K. I watched a couple of films on iTunes and haven’t been overly impressed with DV on it either. Nowhere near as bad as Netflix but again some problems with low light scenes being way too dark etc. I’m just finding that a regular 4K source or 4K HDR source both look much better than DV. I have have only ever experienced DV on this set so it may be, as suggested earlier by another poster, that this series of Sony TVs don’t handle DV well but I can’t see any reason why that would be the case. I think maybe maybe it’s still a work in progress and still needs a few tweaks before it’s up to a consistent high quality standard.
I haven’t seen any problems at all with DV via the Apple TV and I’ve viewed a lot of content from both iTunes and Netflix. What in particular do you not like with the picture? Any examples of particular content that exhibits problems?
If were buying something to play ps4 pro or xbox one x you wouldn't be buying a TV
thankfully Dolby vision is not a problem if your buying it to play ps4 pro or xbox one x
I dont mind the site making money or posters making money from this site , what i would mind is someone on commision directly from the manufacturer and then mislead or exagerate the product because they are influenced financially . That is what leads to loss of trust
I think you'll find most people on here do it to genuinely be helpful, the only thing most users get for posting a good deal is a warm fuzzy feeling inside, conversely some people get extremely upset if a deal they've posted goes cold but that's offset by others who chase heat like it's real gold. The site owners will get paid commission for an item that sells but it's largely up to the members to decide if something is a good deal or not. I suppose there are a couple of caveats to this though. Firstly, they may not allow websites that don't pay commission (or favour websites that do pay commission perhaps). Secondly, they've very recently introduced a programme where some users get paid for posting deals (with some criteria attached I presume) - you'll have to decide for yourself whether or not this impacts the frequency and quality of their posts in future. Perhaps samwell could enlighten us further?
I come here as i trust the posters in here, that they are genuiely trying to help. If commisions come into play and what you are saying is true then it changes the whole picture. Can someone please clarify on the commisions bit. Is Sam of london right ?
It's a bag of ;)
Sam I think I speak for everybody when I say go away. (annoyed) This has more ram, a bigger battery and higher specs in several areas than the OnePlus or the pocophone. The CPU is a deal breaker for me personally but for some people this would be a great phone.
Yes very true!
That's what they say at Currys too!! :o (fierce) Xiaomi on the whole seem to be good so probably not have to call on it anyway.
Yes your right in that instance. It does say 2 year warranty on the listing and I have contacted them regarding this and they have said if I do get any issues with the phone I can contact them and they will deal with the issue.
Def, S2 at £89 is great value, and says it's global version. Although how you get on with the seller if something does go wrong remains a bit of a question mark..
Have to say the S2 at £89 from UK seller on eBay compares very well against the redmi note 5 for £150 on Amazon. I know the note is a better phone in every way but at a 67% premium.
Ah right.. hmm seems to have very mixed reviews
Yeah, it's always been that price though. Haha
OnePlus6t is now £499 too...
That can only mean one thing, it's gonna come down down down on BF, that is a virtual certainty.
Haha this is a nightmare. The mate 10 gone up in price too.
Installing this app itself made my brain two parts!! Voted hot, but uninstalled for time being
Is this not just binaural beats? Already lots of apps for that and I would guess they will be on the YouTube too.
Cheers looks interesting (y)
It's like a friendly version of HypnoToad from Futerama 😄
@matwalaboy Thanks. This is a weird app. I'm trying it out just now and it's certainly strange!
Collected mine today, anyone had any problems with headphones not working? Phone isnt even recognising them yet they work on eveything else.. Lg g4, pc, xbox one, ps4
It was just before our trip to HK in July 2017 so around April 2017. Edit: found it. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/huawei-honor-8-blue-sim-free-now-199-phoneshop-by-sainsburys-2685012
It's a great phone. Hadn't realise how dated myself trusty old G4 was. Chalk and cheese performance wise.
No idea sorry, at least a year ago I'd say.
Me too!! I mean same deal... Not cracked screen as its fairly robust. Dropped lots! When was that deal? Wonder if still in warranty as USB port isn't working properly.
Agreed there Elbandito, but it wont be fast. The FP scanner on the OP3 is still amazing so I would like to downgrade to something slower.
To me I'd be happy using a snapdragon 801 and 3GB ram which would suffice the one big factor is software, the newer model will have more money put into making the software optimal for longer. I'd only go for last years model(which I do) if the price is marginally cheaper
But that fingerprint under screen is soooo dope <3
If I dropped my OP3 tomorrow, I'd buy this as I still value the 3.5mm headphone jack and notification LED.
This has Snapdragon 845 - same as brand spanking new pixel 3xl and 8gb tam (twice as much as the pixel). The model is 6 months old too, I think it's a really good price but with only 50 quid difference I would go for the 6t with in display fingerprint :)
Battery is poor though will last you max one day and charge in about one hour
Bought previous version, good features like Google pay, Heart rate, waterproof and the stainless steel version looks like a proper watch that why I chose fossil, but they refused to honour discount code so bought from Ernest Jones and got it with discount. H Samuel does 15%off watches right now too..
Start by not buying fossil
For the cold voters, where can I get this cheaper, or a better watch?
It's £50 more than the USA RRP and £10 more than most other European countries too! Fossil must really LOVE the UK.
Xiaomi m8, mix 2s, etc?
Yes, it is subjective and the size will out a lot of people off, but it seems to be the way things are going.. The software is a difficult one. I agree Samsung Touchwiz used to be terrible but compared to a few years ago it's much better and actually better than stick android in a lot of ways.. If you want stock Android that really means the Pixel which is good but ugly and relatively boring. Oneplus Oxygen OS is nice but the phone itself is missing some key features and is particularly lacking compared to other flagships when it comes to the camera. Mate 20 pro is good on paper but EMUI is awful. If you think Samsung software is bad steer clear of Huawei! There's not really much else around. So yes, it's very subjective but I think the note 9 is the best when you consider everything from spec to customer service.
Very subjective. I'm sure lots of people would agree with you but I would say it's too big and the software experience is just unpleasant.
Samsung probably do make the best android devices though. As a complete package the Note 9 is probably the best android phone.
You'll have to wrestle my Dad for it now! :D

PErsonnally never had a problem with mcaffee slowing computers down and this is a good price. I use bitdefender which is good and no issues performance wise with it. I really would not listen to the people that say just use common sense and windows defender. I remember a few years back just plugging a pc into a router and it picked up a virus almost immediately.
Yeah, that's free and won't screw up your machine. (y)
Plus cross your fingers and toes and howl at the moon on any given Friday .... (y)
Cheaper at Picstop https://www.picstop.co.uk/microsd-sdhc/sandisk-ultra-microsdhc-android-memory-card-80mbs-uhsi-class-10-32gb.html ... and Samsung Evo is only £6.59 delivered ;) https://www.picstop.co.uk/microsd-sdhc/samsung-evo-plus-micro-sd-uhs-i-card-with-adapter-32gb.html

No. They don't. You've just got it into your head that you're so technologically superior compared to everyone else. People who are going to spend £500 on a phone should be perfectly capable of doing some research for themselves.
Most people here need to be told .
It's almost like people can do research themselves and decide whether or not those features are important to them.
He/she is a bot. His/her history speaks for itself, same same comments all the time......
Looks like this deal has ended, the Virgin sim option is no longer available so you only have 24 months contracts to choose from....
It's actually £22.990000000000002 minimum total cost!!!! :D But a great deal, hotted!
The contract's for a single month, the price of which is included in the £23. Unless I've missed something, the times people have had problems are, quite understandably, when they've tried to cancel prematurely expecting to keep the phone. Vodafone simply aren't allowed to give you problems cancelling.
That's in the PAYG section; you need to be in the pay monthly one. The link should go straight there.
Looks like CPW have increased the price, I can only find £39 plus £1 top-up.
Ugh, that's a shame! :(
You can, but not from any of the UK sites
Thanks for your advice, do you know if it's possible to get the Plus version with dual sim?
Go with the plus version, overall better phone
Looking for advice please - would you suggest this or the Moto G6 Plus at Carphone Warehouse for £219? I read a review that suggested the Moto G6 Plus was better than the G6 but not by a vast amount. I currently have the G4 Plus dual-sim version bought direct from Motorola but it doesn't seem like they sell them direct anymore.
But it's not free.....
Fantastic tablet had it since it came out now upgrading to the hi9 plus
We got my father in law a Chuwi Hi8 Windows tablet, lasted until just outside of the guarantee, would not recommend this brand - caveat emptor.
"had on line chat & was just told to get it fixed.". I would have blatantly told them, you could have figured out the exact same for yourself, etc? (without having to bother yourself first for the privilege ... ) What they initially came out with, was kinda cheeky still.
a very warm welcome to hukd newbie.thanks for taking the time to share your deal today.looks like you have started with a cracker.hope to see you post many more.heat added :)
Be careful non existent guarantee as no dealers in UK. I have one of these, fantastic but..... Problem with battery, had on line chat & was just told to get it fixed.
