What's the informed opinion on whether it's worth the extra £130 over the original 8?

Is this a 2 year guarantee or warranty? ad the two are very different entities!

Dealing with Nokia is vastly different to dealing with Google though. Join Lewis somewhere in-between.

They do!

Don't Nokia give 2 years warranty as standard?

Philips 43PUS7303/12 43-Inch 4K Ultra HD Android Smart TV with HDR Plus and Ambilight 3-sided 2018 - £469 Amazon sold by Tvsandmore

Had this TV tracked on 3Cammels and it surpassed the price point that I had marked. It looks a great deal for the spec. It's also well reviewed at it's original price point. I'll… Read more

This was £400 a few days ago, which IMO should be its list price. If you can find it for around the £400 mark it makes an excellent bedroom TV with it's ambilight and Android TV OS. Be ware of certain Philips models coming with their own OS which "borrows" some UI elements from Android, but doesn't have the same level of app support Android has. This model comes with a nifty bluetooth remote with a keyboard on the back, remains to be seen how long the batteries last on it but it's a nice thing to find in the box.

Without wishing to question/insult your would I be able to amend the OPs deal?

Hence the reason in FREEZING, the 50 inch is a better deal. Amending it would have been easier! Lmao!

Yeah I’m struggling with this. I like Hue and the kids would love Ambilight. But these are midrange panels. I’ve heard great things about their top of the range OLED etc which of course is an LG panel anyway but at that cost I’d buy the Samsung QLED for the high brightness (we view more in light room requiring bright screen than dark room requiring blacker blacks). Just wish the Samsung QLED wasn’t SO expensive.

Anyone know if this a decent TV? Looking at the 50inch for £450

Didn't see that last night, same model? I was looking through the warehouse which led me to this.

Cheers we have seen that before -- doesnt help and in factor you almost have to change the settings for every different game we play as its very difficult to find a consistent setting that look good across games. It is extremely frustrating My brother has this for sale at the moment but Philips TV dont hold value the same way an LG or Samsung would as he cant get rid of it (minor point i know). I love Philips product in general but i wont touch their TVs again

This is very disappointing! I bought the 55" version of the 7303 last week in the Amazon sale for £524, but after reading this, I'm debating whether to cancel the order - I scheduled it for deliver after Black Friday, just in case I need to cancel it...But from the reviews I read regarding the 49NU8000, they said to get at least the 55" due to the 49" not being exactly the best with it's 60hz panel...

What is the difference between this and the Philips 50PUS6753 model posted previously? This model is more expensive but seems identical.

Mmm, it does look like you need to play with the picture settings but this review is for the model below and I’m pretty sure the panel is the same.

Ordered from gear best, understand 11/11 sales volume, purchased when in stock, 2x chat told 4 day dispatch. email might have it for Christmas, should have been told, sorry! From my prospective X numbers sold = $$$ in the bank for X number of days until cancellation of orders, called business or making money.

Okie dokie, thanks again.

But some might. I've had success with gearbest but others haven't been so lucky. There's no guarantee you'll receive anything from China in less than a month

The source of these phones is China as they're manufactured there.

Very few people instantly need a phone tomorrow. Just plan ahead with the ordering to allow for delivery.

I think you'll find that the Redmi 6 has around 72% screen to body ratio, not 80%. I'll let you off though as it's your first mobile deal post. :p

Mmm. If it weren't for the lack of updates and poor cameras I wouldn't want to change it. So I'd have to have Android One in the next phone. No hurry really, the P2 is still trucking along.

Thanks, original order cancelled and gone for this. Better phone for less ££ (y)

You're going to be hard pressed to beat the Lenovo P2, that was and still is a beast! The Redmi Note 6 Pro though might be your bet for an upgrade if you want a better camera with similar battery life and a better 636 processor. @Mrswitch put a post up just recently here

Bose SoundSport In-Ear Earphones (Android/Apple) £44.95 @ Amazon
Found 17 h, 5 m agoFound 17 h, 5 m ago
Seems to be the cheapest they have been in a while! Have owned a pair for a year now and they are great for the gym. Also comes with a 60 day free Audible trial.

These are awful - had 2 pairs and the wire around the jack has worn out on both after only a few months of use on my commute! The sound is good quality, granted but the materials they used to make these are cheap and not hard wearing at all - be warned

Lighting earphones?

Perfect timing. Thanks OP! Ordered 8)

Yeah these were the only ones I found so far that do stay in my ears and are comfortable. I really dislike the normal style of in ear ones as they are always hot and begin to hurt after a while as I have quite small ear canals.

Do they stay in your ears at the gym? I've got a cheap pair of in ear ones and they always fall out. I find my nose quiet comfort qc's are way too hot at the gym.

Im not sure but there may be a revised version of these with additional padding, similar the the newer Arctis 3. Does anyone know if Mic Monitoring works with these? As i have just bought a pair of the Arctis 3, Mic Monitoring slider all the way up and nothing (cant hear my own voice)

Very uncomfortable headset, used for maybe 5 months and caused nothing but grief, the earcups are very shallow and soft and your ears hit off the hard plastic drivers. The Microphone called quits after 5 months and caused an annoying crackling to anyone on the receiving end. Game thankfully replaced them with Hyper X 2 for me.

Agreed, having had all 3 of these (7.1/plus and 8 ) the 7 Plus was the best all rounder. I am currently finding the camera too slow on the 7.1. Though the pie update might speed it up

Haha, I don't do it either, I'm on a 12gb three plan, which more than does me. My phone is single SIM anyway haha

Oh, OK, didn't realise you could do that. Fortunately I have a life beyond my phone though so no value to me. Tesco give me 10Gb/month and I rarely use more than one of them! :D

Yeah, or a data sim in one, with your regular sim in the other. The data sim from three with 24gb data is a good tool to keep, it lasts a year as well, so if you are ever running low, you simply switch Sims.

Thanks again. To me a phone is a tool to do a job and I don't care what it looks like (up to a point!). It'll buried in a flip case anyway. 8 it is then since I'm not prepared to spend silly money on a Googe pixel. I'll now open my JL purchase! Incidentally, other have asked whether it's single or dual SIM. Well my blue Nokia 8 from JL is dual, not that I have a need for that as far as I know - what do people use them for: private and business maybe?

Yes they have taken a hit this year their Partners are not getting the bonuses they once enjoyed! However I still think there's more chance of getting some redress from JL UK than Gearbest, Aliexpress, Tomtop or any Chinese shipper.

John Lewis are struggling at the minute. Just be aware that their 2 year warranty isn't quite as reliable as it once was. There's several newspaper articles on them not honouring repairs/replacements in recent years. Their Trust Pilot score is only 1.9/10. Some of those reviews are alarming!

Does this phone do anything better than the Xiaomi A2 Lite?

Not with a 720p screen. The Redmi 6 Pro is noticeably better.
