Bought this watch the other week when I posted it, it was when eBay did 10% off for the day so got it for £120.59. Lovely looking watch, Argos is the cheapest place to buy it at full price so with % off its an absolute bargain! Already had a few people comment on it, it looks a lot more expensive than it is.

They have some in stock which is surprising given what a deal it is

This is a GREAT wee mower! Tried and tested. Actually my second Flymo in 8 years. XCsn take some battering lol 😁 Highly recommend and at that price too, its a steal! 😗 (my personal opinion)

BraddersB

I disagree with some of the negative comments... I’ve had these for around two years and both work absolutely fine. My lawn is around 72ft sq. I’m sure I could pay more for something better (a sit on mower has always appealed 8) ) but I got a similar deal to what has been posted and have no complaints. Have some heat my friend!

echo06

had a rotary one for over 10 years and still going strong.not sure which model it is mind.probably the more expensive the longer they last??

Bladesof1889

Absolute tat. Such poor quality I returned mine for a refund. The hover ones are better, dont waste your money on this

Danze1984

Mower is alright, but mine stopped working after just over a year. As for the strimmer, you'd be better of with a set of nail clippers. It was really that awful. I paid about £60, so the price is good, product not so much. Not voted either way.

Thanks OP, ordered (second Rotary watch ordered over the last few days!)

Jaybeam

Not as nice as the one for 19.99 a couple of days ago but for the price.....

johnnyd57uk

Ok ladies dress watch for peanuts from Rotary. Bought it when it came down to £14.99. It will join about 6 others that I keep spare for presents. All down to louiselouise's postings lol.

louiselouise

You're right, Argos' picture makes it look rotten (I thought of posting it myself a few nights ago but I tend to post things I personally like - my assumption was it was pretty ugly, so I didn't bother). The blue sunburst dial is nice, actually. You know the Seiko Cocktail Time that all the watch forumites drool over? Maybe slightly reminiscent? Maybe if you squint a bit ;) It's model number LS03053/05. As ever, it says Mineral Crystal/Stainless Steel/Dolphin Standard. This ebay listing has better pics (shame about the sticker on the back!): Found a few better ones: Edit: I said on Watchuseek I'll christen mine the Mocktail Time ;)

Gollywood

Bought 1 a week ago for £17.99, then it went down to £14.99 a couple of days so bought another one! Looks much better in real life than in the Argos pictures

The strap is held on with spring bars, just buy a spring bar tool(a couple of quid) and its a 5 min job to change the strap.

allfemail

Mine arrived today, It's lovely.

louiselouise

Would assume so, not sure of the width, though. Can get all sorts of leather/NATO/silicone straps from Amazon, Ali, ebay, etc.

kop40

Anyone know if the straps interchangeable?

louiselouise

They're topaz gems and some have a reversible dial and diamond bezel, I think?...RRP £2100, TK Maxx price £999.99 and red-stickered to £720. $2880 here https://www.jomashop.com/fendi-watch-f105036000d1t05.html Too expensive for lil ole me. Last watch I bought from TK Maxx was £12 :p

Challenge 31cm Cordless Rotary Lawnmower - Argos - £59.99
453°
Found 8th AugFound 8th Aug
Was £89.99. Has good reviews so seems like a bargain if you have any lawn left after the hot weather!
tallpete33

Wow that's a steal. I have the corded, great mower but a bit narrow. 8 hour charge time is bit off putting though.

666FU

I have a petrol Challenge mower, also has a plastic body. Bought it 6 years ago second hand so must be over 10 years old and it is still going strong. Never serviced it or had a problem, only thing I ever do to it is chuck some petrol into the carb after winter to start it.

batezy_1984

They had a man mower at b&q for £100 the other day. It was a reduced petrol one. I wasn’t man enough as I don’t like the smell on my hands.

androidavis

If this works well, according to reviews and comment yes, then it’s a bargain!

Ross81

I've got the corded version. Does a decent job but needs better cutting heights to choose from. The highest is too long and next one down will scalp anything but perfectly flat lawns. I've kept going with the long setting and my lawn is fine though.

The last one was sold at £35.99, not sure why Argos dropped the price after it was sold? Unless they're getting more stock. I've noticed Creation Watches do that as well (dip the price after the last one was purchased).

K0YS

dropped to £30 now but still oos

louiselouise

I *think* this Rotary pre-dates the 2014 takeover..someone on ebay states it's from 2010! unfortunately I can't vouch for that, as there's not much info about this model on the net. I suppose a customer could contact Rotary if they're really concerned/curious enough.

Ban_Anas

that is not true, they are quality watches (i own a moonphase one - very accurate / SS / ticking away nicely) they still make the "swiss made exquisite timepieces" (very expensive / will have swarovski etc as example)... in addition to the chinese variants ("swiss quartz" ("less shiny")) - which construction are good imE (£20 - £50 don't pay more depending) ...not rotarys fault if people pay the "exquisite price" for a cheaper variant ?.

anuruddha

Rotary isn’t a good brand anymore like it used to be (embarrassed)

Personally I had no real issues with installing the metal spike in the soil. It's long, which means plenty of hammering and trying to keep it straight as it goes in, but with a bit of care it's pretty much perfectly straight and certainly very secure in the ground.

johnnyd57uk

Got the 40m stainless steel version. Absolutely excellent apart from the overly loose plastic spike which I set in concrete. Used a level and packed it in to get a true upright. Still a bit wobbly. The soil spikeis wose according to reviews being about 54-55mm wide. So if you can cope with an off centre airer this is truely excellent otherwise. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/R2S6G24SRHD5QH/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B008AUY602

Got this for £45 on Prime Day last year........The wife is still getting on at me about I have still not 'installed' it. She only mentioned it last week also. In my defence I went to do it once and the holder was bigger than the one we have now so it required a bit of work so I said I would have to look at it when I had more time....

DevilzGtr

I initially purchased the 32r and returned it for a 34r because it was a £2 difference at the time. The 34r is better built and heavier. It also has a knob to change the height of the blade. Overall I actually prefer the flimsy 32r due to it being lighter in weight and easier to menuvere.

matwalaboy

How does this compare to https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Rotak-Electric-Rotary-Mower/dp/B00GZLFPRG/ref=sr_1_1?s=outdoors&ie=UTF8&qid=1533027125&sr=1-1&refinements=p_89:Bosch ?

Danze1984

I have the 34R, and while the basket is flimsy(it folds down for storage), it’s not a problem once attached and in use. Gives a great cut.

dush_yant

Isn’t the 32R (rear blades) the one to go for? 32R is still £62. Having said that I had a look at the 32 in B&Q, it looks very flimsy!

Tesco were doing the 45m Minky's for £22.50 - clearance only. I got a ground spike off amazon for under £6 - there are different sizes, so make sure to measure the diameter of your dryer before buying a spike

My garden is concrete underneath about 5 inches of soil so we bought a parasol base from IKEA.

Got home, built it, very simple to put together. Cut both gardens and it's done a spot on job. If it lasts longer than my last Flymo, I'll consider this a bargain.

qbs

I went through a cable many years ago with a Black & Decker hover mower. Didn't harm me, the fuse or the ELCB it was supplied through. I was lucky. My neighbour saw what was happening and nearly fainted. Poor lad went as white as a sheet.

qbs

I have an Ergoflex 36 and it handles damp, even wet grass no bother. Just don't force it. An RCD a pretty good idea as well.

Besford

This'll be one of the Chinese made ones. They look very similar to the excellent UK made ones but they're dreadful. Look at past posts and avoid!

niceblokedave

A family friend did that without a circuit breaker and his very young son grew up without dad 😞, I never go anywhere near a lawnmower without one. I would appeal to anyone ( including my worst enemy ) not to risk it for the sake of their family .

I think it's easier with a chainsaw engine. The output shaft is horizontal rather than vertical like lawn mowers.

brendansweeney

I purchased this for £40.00 last year about October. I also purchased a 1000 watts electric one for £15.00 reduced from £85.00 and a hand push one for £20.00 reduced from £40.00. The thing is I am still using my hoover mower that I have had for about 10 years. They just seemed to be getting cheaper and cheaper as the season went on. They are still all boxed in my shed, the boxes do look very nice.

BadMF

I remember watching I think Gadget Show where they ran five petrol chainsaws in unison to make some kind of dragster gocart. That looked fun.
