All Rotary Discounts, Offers and Sale - April 2018
I bought one and it went ip in smoke just out of warranty after having used for a total of no more than 2 hours. Shame as it was quite useful
I got one last year and it broke within 5 minutes! This post has just reminded me that I never did get round to returning it ;(
Great tool, as said above though, awful awful carry case.
I got one of these last year and now it's this year, I just don't know where the time went.
Voted hot. I bought one recently like from Maplins
Sorry, I wasn't saying it wasn't a new deal - it went up later in the day to £70+ Just commenting that Amazon were churning them out at this price last weekend.
Price irrelevant if it's a poor mower and I'm afraid this one is. Bosch make a huge range of mowers which all look similar but whereas the (expensive) UK built ones are superb the others (most Chinese but looks like they make in Hungary too now) are very poor. I'm surprised that Bosch risk their reputation on these but they do. I learned the hard way!
Trust you Sir
Was actually saying 59.99 incorrectly, it was 54.99 on Saturday also as that's the price I bought at.
Checked that deal before posting. Was saying 59.99 for this one
Showing as £57.93 for me
No thanks, "brought" instead of "bought" is my biggest pet peeve
Ordered, nice heads up with price history! Heat added
Just had my delivery date shortened to next Tuesday. I ordered 3 days ago.
I decided to set our one in concrete, used a spirit level and everything but still ended up with "wonky beach umbrella effect". Hey ho, at least it stays up in bad weather (lol)
Received mine today. I Can confirm its the set. The watch is huge... Will definitely have to get some links removed. Thanks op (y)
Out of stock ;(
£65.99 on amazon now (3rd party seller). Its never been as low as this argos price though. Bargain indeed. Excellent spot, op! Heat added and bought.
Thanks bought the one shown and leather strap one.
Picked up the last one in stock at Marble Arch on Sunday. No others available in the 10 closest stores to Camden now. I'm very happy with this as a dress alternative to my Apple watch. There are also the leather strap version at £79.99 and the Silver face version at £173.99, I found one or other in stock at stores around the Huntingdon area, PE26 if that helps anyone at all.
After convincing the better half I need yet another watch just ordered and reserved one in Southampton. (cheeky) All I got to do now is get there from Gosport.
Yep I agree another wild goose chase from Argos, non around Buckinghamshire!
Nearest to me 57.3 miles! However, the leather strap version previously posted seems to be more widely available.
Same 30 odd miles away. Worth the drive. Great watch. :D cheers
I got one, 30 miles away, not that bad.
Same old story with these Argos “deals” never find stock nearby
RRP's are a joke.
Ha ha, just checked if this is available in my local store. It asks are you willing to travel? Yes. Answer - Dunstable - 108 miles away. I’ll get my bike ...
This one's fractionally bigger (40cm) and will give you a hell of a lot less trouble for the same money: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/gardenline-36v-cordless-40cm-lawnmower-for-just-12999-instore-at-aldi-from-2-april-or-pre-order-now-2915974
Same here always have to strip the carb before using it.
I've had one of these for about 5 years. Had constant problems with it hunting stalling and failing to start . Had to strip and clean the carb on it multiple times. Cheap Chinese engines. I'd go for a model with a briggs engine.
Already posted here: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/petrol-lawn-mower-easter-deal-mountfield-hp164-39cm-100cc-hand-propelled-rotary-petrol-lawn-mower-12999-screwfix-2916107
Looked at these last year but decided to pay a bit more for a metal body,a fair few reviews saving the plastic body doesn’t stand upto much, read a few case where they had moved over a pebble/brick that was in the grass and it split the body on impact from the blades flitting it out
Prob because some people would prefer to buy electric however since I bought a petrol mower I can honestly say I will never go back to electric. But u have got to have a medium sized garden to make it worth it really
That’s on offer too at £249
Probably because it's hand propelled
Why cold, is this a bad price?
Had the same issue with the first flymo which is why I tried the Bosch but thought I'd rather have something that would last more than 2 cuts! The 300 is better at collecting grass but still a bit shy-T. Wish they'd make a proper vacuum cleaner for grass :D I've got a garden vac but they take ages.
Hmm - one of these to a Flymo: frying pans and fires I think. Last Flymo I had didn't collect much - just left grass turds everywhere; it may have 'cut' the grass but it didn't provide much of a lawn to admire for all the effort.
I had this one a while back and it broke on second use. Maybe that Chinese/UK thing has some truth in it. Granted the grass wasn't 100% dry when I cut it but my old Flymo didn't ever have an issue with that. I think the motor just blew out when it struggled to cut the very slightly damp grass. Luckily it broke within 30 days of purchase so I managed to get a refund and swapped it for a Flymo hover one (300 I think) which hasn't let me down and is a lot more sturdier. I may have just been unlucky though.
I believe the UK ones have a black cover over the motor so this one appears to be a Chinese one. For anyone wondering whether that really matters I'd say YES without hesitation! I had great service and performance from what I now realise was a UK one. A couple of years back I decided I'd 'upgrade' to a new one when I saw a good deal - it was absolutely awful and I learned that was a Chinese one. Bosch themselves wouldn't even respond to emails and calls. In the end I took it back to the shop (Homebase but pre-Bunnings) and they accepted it back. Less power, shorter lead, uneven cut, very poor pickup of clippings and even flimsier than the previous one. It looked similar but performed nothing like it. Surprised Bosch would risk their reputation on such rubbish but I guess the DIY sheds demand lower prices. I've now got a cordless one (bought used) and it is superb but they are very expensive: the batteries are twice the price of this mower! If you just want to keep the grass down on a small lawn this will do the job at a low price but if you like a well kept lawn and value your time and effort don't bother. I hate the expression 'you get what you pay for' because it's often not true - but in this case.................
How can you tell which are the Chinese and which are the British made ones?
I only saw the top of my whole quote (I Edit quotes if I'm replying to a particular point) and wasnt sure what bigbaz meant - then I Edited my reply when I cottoned on. Not shirty at all. All is cool. I didn't actually say whether I agreed or disagreed, as I don't mind what others think. As long as *I* like what I wear on my wrist!
Not sure why you're getting shirty about being quoted; you mentioned they were British and so it seems appropriate that bigbaz replies, although you can choose to agree or disagree with the actual reply. I would side with you that they could be classed as a British brand, despite being Chinese owned: still headquartered in the UK (were originally Swiss). None of this, however, necessarily dictates their quality and my dad still swears by them.
Chinese/ British all good had mine for over 23 years and still working.
I was merely pointing out that they are a Chinese company not British.
Not sure why you're quoting my comment to another member about customs/tax/postal charges to the UK from an Amazon EU site? If you mean Rotary are Chinese made, well, Watchuseek has plenty of discussions about them and think they're decent, as long as you don't spend a lot of money. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/tell-me-about-rotary-watches-189724.html http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/rotary-watch-good-brand-446612.html
I would Camelcamelcamel any Rotarys you have your eye on - last year loads of them were going for around £20-40 (including automatics) eg, https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/rotary-mens-quartz-watch-with-black-dial-chronograph-display-3945-del-amazon-2677650 and https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/rotary-mens-quartz-watch-2964-via-amazon-2677398 Amazon Italy is where I got my £19.99 (quartz) Rotary from, shipped from Dunfermline (wearing it today!) https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/rotary-lb0036006-austrian-crystal-womens-quartz-watch-with-silver-dial-analogue-display-dolphin-standard-approx-1999-delivered-amazonit-2678710 Much like Invicta and the other overpriced lower-tier brands, I wouldn't pay full price for these watches and the RRP can be optimistic at best. However, Rotary are great value for the price and decently-made (not that fond of Invicta, though).
RRP is a joke. See below
Because it's the cheapest available price for the item?... Ya know, the whole point of this site?
But it hasn't even got a date! (horror)
Because it is a decent watch at a decent price. Rotary are a really good make for the money, have very solid water resistance on all their watches, if you are after a sub £100 quarts then rotary are one of the best brands you can go for imo
Why is this getting heat - just WHY? :/
Very nice but wife likes a leather strap.
Heat added as it's a bargain but not convinced it is actually gold-plated? Could be an opportunity for a further discount after purchase?
Thanks OP. Ordered one as been looking for decent watch for a while now THANKYOU 😊😊
Mega heat, looks like it’s £100 @ F. Hinds. That’s her indoors sorted. Along with the Iceland £5 Prosecco & chocs. Job done !
nice watch. Was on offer at £59 at some point. Not sure what the original price was. Looks a bargain.
heat added great
Wife may like this, great price for an established brand, thanks..
I,ve got one of the electric flymos and prefer it to a petrol lawn mower that i have ,plus no air pollution and no sore shoulder blade from that bloody cord start !! (highfive)
Great for clearing the snow off your lawn, driveway etc...
I picked it up 2 or 3 weeks ago. Was a clearance item and I'm guessing they're all gone now
Hmm can’t find the Webb online. Good find nonetheless OP
Great I’ll hop in the car tomorrow and make the 240 mike journey to Inverness. I think they have one left there.
Agree. You've got a nice little watch for the cash. Was it nice when it arrived? Can you post pics as they're limited on the site.
I have a Michael kors smartwatch for sale if anyone is interested £200
Lots of 'private' listings in their ebay fb????
The fakery and forgery on eBay is out of control with many watches. The latest is to put maker's marks on mechanical movements - even those aimed at sub 20 ukp.
Well on mine they have not let me
Many thanks, just managed to get one
Looks like they are putting the price of these back up. I did wonder why suddenly all the stores around me got lots of stock back in. Still not bad at £8 as its cheaper than Amazon or Machine Mart. Both of them are selling the exact same pumps for between £12-£32 under the Clarke and Draper brand names. :)
These are £1 in The Leamington Spa branch
Shut your eyes and its Arnie describing how to use it...... He'll be back.. 8)
Thanks, op. Endless possible uses for this. My drain keeps getting blocked, so this might help. Now all I need is for wheel barrows to go on offer, so I can get all my Homebase offers home! And put them in my 'might need one day' shed!!
how it works
