Can it make sandwiches too? In the shape of a waffle presumably. Is there enough space for some kind of filling?

£85 for two waffles is soooo much money!! Based on the fact I will use it once and store in a cupboard forever! Ordered, thanks OP (highfive)

Devro

I’m so tempted! £85 for a waffle maker seems mad though. Why is it smart

not bad at all, we have used this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074KFQR97/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_b3rSdgN_c_x_w?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=0EHADVG8E50QGJM4XR3Y&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=7fd49f11-d653-5868-bd7a-ac01c808d377&pf_rd_i=3538370031 But it is a hit/miss, nothing like a commercial machine but 1.1kw/4waffle 1.3kw/2 waffle seems to make sense this would work quick, in the one from amazon we have to keep the waffles in for ages

Looks like the plates aren't removable The single one has 4 x 5* reviews https://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Single-Waffle-Maker/18-4680 Also found this https://www.sewwhite.com/baking/waffles-testing-out-the-coline-waffle-maker-from-clas-ohlson/ Tempted

Freelancer

It is more then enough because waffles are thin, once you preheat it, untill indicator light turns off, then it's ready to use. Takes about 20-40s to cook one lot.

Freelancer

Link for few reviews is in description. If you follow here there is Instruction manual. I had single waffle iron for few years and just bought this one, because it speeds things up. Yes waffles are thin about 6-8 mm not as deep as square type ones.

The good thing (OK, one of the good things) about waffles, is that you can make a double batch, freeze them and then put them in the toaster when you want one. Put the maple syrup on afterwards though.

I bought one a few weeks back at Dyas for £30 (😑) and it’s the scalloped sandwich plates. It’s nice only having to store plates in a drawer rather than having two or three separate units. I’ve made waffles and sandwiches, it’s a good bit of kit :) cleaning’s nice and easy unless you overfill the sandwich. For £22 it’s a steal.

best just to buy waffles from lidl

splender

Unless you run a waffle business, after eating for one/two months, you get bored of doing it at home forever. I think with a 100 variety of plated dish, say 365 days in a year, you can only eat on average 3/4 days of each variety. So keeping a gadget in a kitchen for a few days' use in a year is no no.

splender

Good point, very similar thing to sandwich toasters, take out lots of kitchen space, anyway, arn't these kitchen gadgets spew out more CO2 and NOX gases into atmosphere.

ratatatatata

I bought one, absolute rubbish. The waffles don't rise probably due to lack heat, stuff gets down the gaps into the unit, wish I didn't bother.

TrevT

Argos sells this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9107124.htm For less than a tenner. Does meat, panini and other sandwiches and waffles and fat and other waste drips onto a small tray for easy cleaning. Better deal for most people IMHO.

furiousjammin

The person above you disproves your "promise"...

a_scotsman

Dont get it! See those plates? Melted cheese is GUARANTEED to ooze out and down the spaces and it means that, after a few dozen uses, even if you clean it well (you can't easily clean the heading element or under it). It just basically becomes absolutely rank. Don't buy it, look for a sale toastie with FULL plates. In other words, so that the entire lower surface is one large metal plate. Not "Fitting into a space" like this one. You will regret buying this, I promise you.

The books are freely available instore mate. Here's another scan just to show you what it says at the front of the coupon book. The reverse of this offer has no information on the deal by the way, it's just another offer. That info relates to online ordering.
