Clarks shoe sale - final clearance IN-STORE - 70%+ genuine reductions on a wide range of styles and sizes.

Just a heads up for those who like Clarks shoes (I do!) but not their regular prices. I ordered a couple of pairs of shoes on-line in the current sale: great prices but the fit wa… Read more

Holy moly I've just realised after all this time that I was talking nonsense; I saw "Clarks" under the title and thought the OP was the company itself. Just saw a Dell deal with "Dell" there in bold and realised my mistake. Sorry :)

Hope a few people got a good deal. I think the sale has ended now so I'll expire this thread. Don't worry, there'll be another one along soon!

I think what he means is that a fake reduction isn't a reduction at all, so the word "genuine" is, or at least should be, superfluous.

Many are 'fake' - which is my point; is that really so hard to understand? Mountain Warehouse is a perfect example: half price is normal price; they're only 'genuine' reductions when they come down below that. I'm sure people can give many more examples. Don't you get out much? ;)

Genuine reductions? Don't you just hate all those fake reductions? :/

Is this still active today?

Haters going to hate but I've been wearing Clarkes for 20 odd years and still do...Brought some last year wore daily for work and they still could last another year! Maybe some of you play sports with them on or have 2 left feet hence why all the complaints!

Should be shopping at shoe zone or the like then haha.

Unless the item is on a massive sale, you really don't "get what you pay for" at Clarks these days. The shoes I've had from there over the past few years have been mediocre and fairly expensive. Also, they seldom seem to stock the wide width in the more fashionable styles, so they're not really offering something you can't easily find elsewhere any more.

What a load of garbage. I have been buying shoes from Clarks for years now (over 20 in fact) would never buy anywhere else. Yes they are expensive but as the saying goes you get what you pay for, always comfortable and extremely well made. Don't pay full price buy them when they are heavily discounted (like now at 60-70% off) and you cannot go wrong! Just purchased 3 pairs for a total of £130, original price was £340 absolute bargain compared to the crap you will buy from the likes of shoe zone etc. NO I do not work for Clarks simply giving my honest opinion of a brand I have used and been extremelly happy with for many years. I hope this may help somebody. Cheers.

Just to add clarity: It's a store wide clearance, not just shoes or kids.

if you bought it in store I'd return to he store as I always find them very helpful

I'd kick up a stink with them. A sign saying "sold as seen" does not absolve them of their statutory rights to ensure something is "as described". Should be able to get your money back if you start quoting legislation at them, or if that doesn't work, small claims is dead easy.

I bought a bean to cup coffee machine in the JL clearance a couple of weeks ago. Good price and so I checked when buying is it new? Oh yes - discontinued model hence the discount. Box was sealed and nothing to indicate that it was not straight from the factory. On opening I found that bits eg scoop, descaler missing. Machine looked fine but on using I found that it had already been used to make around 200 cups of coffee and needed descaling. The milk frother did not work either. Upshot is for me to cart it back in and get a refund and to add insult to injury after prolonged emails I am told "all Branch Markdowns are sold as seen". So beware John Lewis - not the store it once was. If you buy a clearance item I suggest you open the box to check before paying.

They`ve just refunded me as the shoes are "out of stock" :(

I agree that this style isn't particularly hard wearing but for a few £ more they have the Mariel Wish style which my daughter has had twice now and they wear really well and only needed replacing when my daughters feet grew :)

There are other makes and styles available, I have only used this as an example. I ordered startrite shoes for £26 which I thought was good value.

This exactly shoes have a life of max 4 weeks, tested! I bought for £13 last December and I needed to buy another pair of shoes for my girl after 1 month, be careful, the quality is rubbish and the service client too!

Nice. Fuddy-duddy or not, I think you'll struggle to beat Clarks for bang-for-buck value when it comes to formal / work shoes.

Very few sizes available. Thanks anyway

Well done for standing your ground. Shame that Clarks have declined in quality. It seems to be the order of the day now. Everyone seems to want everything cheaper all the time so the shops are filled with more and more crxp.

Surprised this thread is still going. I buy Loake if I want a decent pair of shoes. I buy Clarks for every day use. If there is a better buy than Clarks out there in the "economy" shoe range can someone please tell me. Ive never found one even if Clarks "aint what they used to be".

Thanks alecb...fairly sure my Son got a full refund on that junk. I can usually denote that when I get as much as a grunt from him it means... yes. As for having a conversation now thats another matter in this day and age.

Ecco don't make shoes in Denmark, at least their website doesn't claim to. They're just another multinational exploiting cheap labour and gullible image conscious buyers. Haven't noticed much difference in quality from Clarks. Just a more "upmarket" image projection .

Further to my comments regarding these shoes. When my 2 pair were finally delivered, they had the wrong insoles in them. They should have had cushioning and didn’t..I had already bought a the same pair some time ago with the correct cushioned insole. I have spent quite some time “arguing” with Clarks that they are breaking laws by advertising something which they are not selling. Eventually I received a phone call from Clarks, and to my amazement they admitted the insole in the shoes I bought were not as good a quality, and they didn’t have the Ortholite cushioning as advertised on their site. They refunded me the total amount for both pair of shoes, and told me to keep the shoes. It May sound like I have had a result...and I suppose I have,2 pair of shoes for free. But the shoes are definitely not as good a quality as they used to be,and they should in no way be selling shoes which are not as’s illegal

Absolutely agree, I've been wearing a new black pair since Monday (y)

I have a pair of these and I hate them, after months I just stopped wearing them. The leather at the back of the ankle is really hard and it never softened. Just my experience

"WALK" as in you don't have pain after wearing them for 10 hours?

Heat added, Clarks have quite a lot of good offers in their sale at the moment. Men and Women's.
