I have bought these and can confirm it was 100% Genuine.
there is a difference to using genuine cables and third party cables. the difference is the charging times. I have tested these myself personally. the test conditions were an ipad air 1st generation completely drained battery to the point where the device will not power up. I charged with the genuine cable and it took 8 hours I third party cable I bought took 11 hours. the genuine cable was the normal 1m cable provided in the box the third party was a 6ft + cable. so if you don't mind the charging times, third party cables can give you a longer length and a cheaper price. the only way I would know if this cable was genuine is for me to use above test, but then I've commited to purchasing the cable
I have to say I didn’t know apple do a 2mt one I’m so tempted with these “genuine” ones, I have had lots of cables I forget which are genuine and which ones are eBay / amazon, all I know is I have a apple 1mt cable by my bed which I took out a brand new phone about 5 years ago use it every night to charge and it still works fine !! All the others waste of time last a few months then that it , I suppose if I buy these “ genuine” ones from eBay the 2 mt ones then ask in a apple store or storefront shop to see if they are “genuine”
Thanks, those are good points. The link does appear to be working so must've been fixed
Apple is incredible agree but you don’t know that these are actual genuine ones, we can’t even get to the page, eBay is loaded with fakes from cables to razor blades, and even batteries. Good luck with your purchase, I would say though on cables Apple original versus Anker Anker wins hands down, plus one email and they will send a replacement out in the post through your door rather than having the trek to an apple shop. Report your post and ask mods to fix the link for you, it’s only going to get colder here :(
