Judging by the number of votes compared to temperature this is a really controversial one...

I am getting s9 plus if good offer comes...selling oneplus 6😁

Elbandito

If someone is interested, I have exactly the same version - bought on amazon as well- could sell for as much as I bought it- 520+ shipping. Mint condition with accessories unused. Thanks Edit: think I am getting a oneplus 6 :)

MyNameIsBond

How does this type of stuff affect warranties if you buy it and it screws up in the UK? Also, would banks cover it as part of insurance?

weirdo

Yeah, I find that the prices of the S9 Plus on the Amazon euro stores (.de, .it, .es, .fr) fluctuate on almost a daily basis. Lowest I've seen it when fulfilled by Amazon is €680. And it doesn't pop up at this price very often either.

Mrswitch

(lol) that was quick, must have been a price mistake, expired unfortunately

Gutted...got a box of these in the cupboard. I shan't look forward to them now.

saintscouple

it's like they are stale too..... they say covered in cadbury chocolate, but it's not like the normal cadbury taste. We too got a box last week, ended up giving over half away they were awful.

aurora

Got these last week. Seem to have Arabic on the side so produced for the overseas market I imagine. I haven't had any but the kids said they don't taste of Oreos - as said above, they are just standard chocolate rolls.

sambradley20

Got them and can confirm there a major let down only slightly tasting of oreo but mainly tasting like any cheapo chocolate roll.

spilmilk

They also look like they should be huge considering only 12 in a box and that box looks BIG!

kye1987

I contacted O2 as this is for my mother. She is on sky who use O2. Asked if I could just pop the sim in and O2 replied all phones supplied by them are locked to only O2 and no virtual, so would need unlocking. But think I'll go for it as you guys report it working.

jazzuk777

I tend to judge phones by their camera, battery life, and UI. Gaming (hence raw SoC power) is not really a factor for me apart from an occasional go on SW: Knights of The Old Republic! By that measure, the Nokia 7 Plus may be superior to the older (hence cheaper as it has been reduced a lot from original RRP, where the new 7+ hasn't really yet - for UK stock at least) Nokia 8, as the battery life is excellent and Nokia haven't really gotten the most out of the camera set-up in the 8 by most people's measurements. As I say people, have reported on here great improvements to the 8 by using the Pixel Camera app side-loaded if you can be bothered to fiddle around with that. Both will be getting Android P and I think it is likely that the 7+ will get Q too, the 8 less likely. The tele lens on the 7 is certainly more appealing to me over a monochrome lens. The S8 can be had cheaply on a contract (£23 mth before £70 cashback if TCB offer still on for Voda) and I'm sure the camera is a good step-up, but I don't know how much the Pixel trick closes the gap, maybe most of the way. I'm not sure a new one can be had for £400 but not looked deeply, you might for a EU grey import (so still get the 2yr Samsung warranty). Of course the Nokia 8 doesn't have the 18:9 screen which will put some off. The Honor 9 might be the value:performance sweet-spot (although the Nokia 8 can actually be had for a close price with the AO new customer trick), (and in fact at £400 you can get the new Honor 10) although I got put off Huawei by a spotty updates record (someone else on HUKD told me they've been good with the H9 though). Their G300 back in the day was probably the first of the budget marvels before the Moto G first turned up. The CPU is pretty fast, the camera has some good reviews although some are a little less effusive. However for £225/250 it's pretty good value. Once upon a time I'd have said the Moto G6 family in a hearbeat, but that was before issues with Moto X Play, then Moto G4 Plus and now my Moto G5 Plus. Not mention the record with updates has nose-dived (my Moto g5 Plus is still on 7) The LG G6 (and obviously I have caution here as LG have had some known quality issues before, as have One+ for that matter), could be a sleeper hit. The CPU apparently on paper doesn't really show any difference in use and you should get a pretty decent camera result along with the "very now" screen/bezel ratio. EDIT: Just noticed the Honor 10 is now only £389 on AO before the new customer trick!

Cameron92

Thanks for info. The premium Nokia 8 is available for £300 here: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/new-nokia-8-glossy-blue-128-gb-android-71-smartphone-29997-sold-by-connected-247-fulfilled-by-amazon-2961773 Very tempted to bite. It's a little confusing that Nokia 7 (presumably lower spec than the 8?) is more expensive. My mum has given me her old Moto X Play for now, which I think whilst technically slower than Oneplus One has Android 7 and seems to be less buggy. Only other question is whether upping budget to say £400 and getting last year's S8 is going to be noticeably better than say the Nokia 8?

It's £179.99 with a £15.50 Vodafone rolling contract, cancel straightaway the one month contract when you get it (they might try and charge ~£2/3 but should drop it), then if you factor in the £35 cashback it will take the end cost to £144.99.

Very interesting, didn't know that.

fablanta

It's depressing how much flavour is used in supposedly natural products nowadays. 100% Orange juice is the worst I've heard of. To be able to store it for longer (up to a year). They remove the oxygen which also removes most of the flavour. When they are ready to package it they purchase flavour packs from the same labs that produce perfumes to make it smell and taste like orange juice again. They can get away with this because these packs are made from orange byproducts so they don't have to be included as a separate ingredient.

chimp14uk

No vanilla in it by the looks of it though, hence being labelled 'flavour' instead of 'flavoured'.

fablanta

Oreo Vanilla is one of the nicer messed about with ice cream tubs.

Could somebody who has this phone please tell me if Arabic language is available in settings. Went to Tesco today to look and they wouldn't open a box to let me check. Just dummy phones attached to their display board. My local Tesco really is crap in every respect. I asked about unlocking and the woman said "We don't do that. You have to go to the local phone shop for unlocking" and proceeded to tell ne about the 2 nearby all-in-one phone shops that do repairs etc! I left, cursing Tesco like most times I visit there.

Bully

Unlocking your pay as you go device Your Tesco Mobile pay as you go phone will be free to unlock 12 months after it was activated. If you want to unlock it in the first 12 months, it will cost £10 so you'll need to make sure your pay as you go device is topped-up.

timlc3

Ok - to clarify - not implied - says I’ll not be touching android until the fake security patches issue is sorted out . Apart from pixel 2 which I dislike for the random reboots and screen burn. The security is fine though on Pixel 2 . Let that be an end to it now it’s clear

Rob_Deeley

So it's £10 to unlock?

hutokdeals

A family member bought this and a couple of days use in we are impressed. Compared to my Redmi Note 3 this is not bad at all. The screen is really very good. Camera about the same as mine, fingerprint recognition good, simple games run well. Used the 10 pounds credit to unlock straight away with no fuss. Customer services were very helpful indeed.
