U REDS ! (y)

furiousjammin

if you are paying £5 more, then they arent a similar price. Oxymoron.

Avarehab

They are inferior in all ways compared to other similar screws at similar prices I would pay extra 5 quid for the turbo gold which are a different level of quality

Avarehab

Wow the amount of people that can’t handle someone’s opinion on a set of screws (lol) (lol)

Infiltrator

Sometimes you don't need the most expensive best quality screws, useful handy pack to have kicking about, I bought the Aldi ones previously, might get these for my dads house to save dragging my set around.

True, but a bit of rust on the screw head just makes it blend in better with the wood? Plus, decking screws are usually coated or treated. I did some decking 10 years ago with non stainless screws, and it’s lasted fine. I must go and peer at the screw heads. :)

Polos used to be 10p...

moonsun

Last year there was 1000 for 15£ from Screwfix

DodgeySolenoid

Well decking screws aren't stainless steel and, they probably experience some of the harshest weather. I suppose it's what sort of longevity you're expecting, from the structure you're constructing.

JJ69

Depends if you paint over them, e.g. shed

Stevet29

Of course they are, they are £15-20 on their own. This is just a case that comes with the screws.

lmc87

Not bad price including the case but generally find these cases aren't as good as they used to be. I've stopped buying them. The paint chips off and rusts very easily. The Stanley Fatmax are a better buy and generally seem more durable.

I bought this years ago. The screws are terrible. Loads of cam out.

mozzer_Morris

Very Interesting, that is a good deal ..if you want a really large case of top quality screws! Buying them by the box to top up a large case makes me cringe. In future I'll just get another case......

Ylla

Thanks for that, I also had a £10 exclusive voucher from Screwfix, just arrived in post, applied, so this deal cost me only £14.99.

If you want it to sway and wobble in the wind yes use nails 😄

rob28

75mm Drywalls will easily screw through 2 inch softwood with no predrilling pulling themselves in with no countersinking either

eldaniel

Sorry am just starting my DIY life. Why no predrilling required for the one you described please?

rob28

I built mine with 75mm drywalls and 4x2, no predrilling required. Perks of the job being a partition fixer only paid for the cladding the rest was left over because someone over ordered :)

Argyll68

Umm . . . . . today's UK society, in every High Street and elsewhere, most days . . . . .

Pualle

I've never seen this pick n mix option. There must be a tactic. Like, if you're buying nuts and bolts, surely you screw nuts down the full length of each bolt. We aught to have a HUKD competition for the maximum weight and maximum items in each size bag. Maybe another tactic would be to push the screws through the bag, so the head holds each one in place. Add a bonus, if a zombie apocalypse happens to break out while you're queueing for the checkout, you could use your hedgehog screw bag as a crude weapon against the brain eating plague.

accvio

Yes, regular price, but probably worth bringing it to people's attention. Way cheaper than B&Q's prices, and great that you can choose exactly what and how many you want. There's the fun of seeing how much you can pack into a small bag. The downside in my local (Bury St Edmunds) is that they have often not restocked the pick and mix bins.

maxmix

Anyone else throw in extras that are not on the pick n mix trays :o or is that only me :o maxmix

AnthHether001

Yes, the prices went up a few weeks ago. IIRC, it was 'small bag £1.99', 'large bag £2.99'. Still, even at the new prices, it's a great way to buy some fixings. ( As Niles Crane might say. LOL.)
