True, I meant a similar discount. They were £49.99 yesterday as I ordered them but will now be returning!

It's cheaper because these are the white ambience version, not the colour bulb like the other deal. Still hot, I need to pick up 2 X E14 and 2 X E27 so can now use the 15% off deal at Amazon.

That doesnt make it any less odd - you've just reiterated what you said. But whatever.

I’ve ordered one yesterday, thanks OP. Does anyone know if this comes with the fan or not

That is so cool

I have this and it is great !

Congrats for you sir, I personally have way to many other projects, builds, emulators, consoles, systems etc to really worry about 2 £5 pis. IF I find a case I like, and a project I like that one of my other systems doesn't do then yes I'll be more than happy to be "motivated" to use them. Until then, I don't have that requirement.

I've found dewalt very good, too many short ones in this pack for me, useful for someone though.

Good price, but you'd be better off buying a Makita set from Amazon for £4 (add on) which has 5 commonly used sizes and will likely long outlast these. Voted hot though, a good price either way.

Chipboard Screws @ Homebase £1.00
30/04/2018Expires on 30/04/2018Found 24th MarFound 24th Mar
Seems a good deal for 308 screws in a handy container. Just picked up a couple of boxes and quality seems ok. Pick up from store only.

Pound? Have some heat. Some places like B&Q would charge more than a pound for a plastic container. Will get some of these as plenty stocked in this area's Homebases.

cool got two.. wanted that organiser case too thanks

And if your on a budget........

Thanks OP Looks mostly small sizes Ok if you need them. Once or twice a Year Lidl do an assortment of different sized ones mostly alot bigger than this for about £3 I had a look in B&Q and reckoned it would cost about £11 to match the quantity and sizes. Grab them while they are cheap.

For a pound, who cares!!

I think Screwfix sell the box for about £7. There's a larger box too at a tenner, and the compartments are interchangeable. That said, I've found the compartments on these particular ones are slightly taller than in the Screwfix ones, so they need taking down a bit for a good fit in the other boxes. But I've got four this size and four large ones and just swap them about as required.

I've been buying turbogolds when they are cheap, so have good stocks of the more obscure sizes. I don't need to use them often, I'm a data monkey not a chippy, but lately I'm doing a lot of hardware jobs in my 'spare' time and these are really getting my attention. At present I only have 60/80/100mm but I find I always reach for these over the TGs when I need that length, I'm going to get a few of these just for the variety. Didn't realise on my phone that these are removable compartments too, the box must be worth a fiver easy.

They're brilliant. I don't know why I didn't change to these years ago. I thought I'd try a pack and realised I was going for them all the time, rather than pozi's, so that was it. Luckily my pozi stocks were running down anyway so it wasn't a great sacrifice.

You know what, I never realised how much difference the different head makes. It really does though, a lot less slipping even at obscure angles

Yes these are very good, they also don't fall off your screw driver as well.

robthebubble go with my new DeWalt impact driver which arrived today! (y)

I think I understand what you mean but the 'sleeve' doesn't appear to move at all. The only movement is the bit itself moving due to the internal spring. I feel sure I must just be being an idiot and missing something obvious but if you get the chance to post again once yours arrives it would be much appreciated!

Not received mine yet - but you usually have to pull the sleeve of the holder forward (or back) then pull the bit out

Can any one that has this set answer what is probably a stupid question for me. Once you put the magnetic screw holder over the screwdriver bit, do you simply use brute force to take it off again when needed or is there a trick to it? Mine arrived today and I just tried the holder together with the bit packaged next to it to get an idea of how it worked and now it doesn't want to come off again!

Ordered, thanks a lot and heat added.

Hot! Satisfying screw fix

Need to put together some feather edge fencing which are suitble?

Purchased. Thanks

Got the TurboGold 1000pc box of various sizes a while back for a renovation and were pretty good from what I remember. If you need any of these sizes on offer I can't see why you'd spend multiple times more on spax screws unless someone has used both and can say that spax or another brand are far superior to these? With them being double self countersunk and having a sharp tip I'd think they are more than adequate for most jobs. I had some of these, along with some decking screws left out in the rain for a couple of months over the winter and didn't notice any rust or deterioration so seem to be well made. Might stock up on them while they're at this price.

Couldn't believe how much I got into the large bag and realised I could have got a bit more in if I'd perfected my shaking technique. Bag seems like 1-2kg in weight. Put in the large items then filled the gaps with small screws. Only just managed to seal the bag. Felt I cheated myself when after walking to the till a pocket of space appeared at the top of the bag. Only about 6 items are in the bag that I actually need at this moment in time, another 600 probably for future use.

Good deal but regular price. Larger bag is much better value. When you get home you can sit down for a couple of evenings and sort out your 'mixed' buy into the different sizes again! ;)

I bought a whole bag of these about two years ago, and haven't used a single one.

As a table top war gamer, 400+ 25mm metal bases (25mm Washers) for £2.99 is a bargain. Just be careful if you really fill the bag. A friend packed it as full as he could. All was fine, until the cashier dropped the bag and the seam gave.

Echo Plus with free Philips Hue White E27 Edison Screw Light Bulb - £139.99 @
Found 21st JanFound 21st Jan
The Amazon echo plus is normally £139.99 but it is also £139.99 with a Philips Hue bulb. Seems like a good deal until they reduce the prices again.

With code bigthanks I got this at 129.99 so I'm pleased 😁

The free bulb offer has been on since the product was launched in the UK, the only time it was not available was when the item was on pre-release order. The Echo with the free bulb has also been cheaper, and whilst we can't go back in time, it also hasn't been any more expensive than £139.99 either, hence its not a deal as £139.99 with a free bulb is the standard/normal price. But it was still worth posting as some people might still select the echo without free bulb on Amazon and might not be aware of this long running offer.

This was the offer when it was first introduced and it’s always remained available at this price (apart from when it dropped in price Nov/Dec.) I bought it, then returned the bulb for credit because I need b22. So, I don’t think it can be classed as a deal if it’s always been available at this price.

Original. I was politely giving a possible reason why so many people were voting this cold on your first post. To be blunt, this is not a good deal.

Great i'll just jump in my time machine and pick one up.

Cheaper because it's single pole isn't it?

LAP electrical products are very poor quality, the finish on their metal faces switches and sockets are razor sharp, the switch mechanisms are shoddy at best. MK are not as good as they used to be but with that said they still look a good finish. Always fit DP switched sockets that way you always break the neutral, for fault finding it can send a sparky down the wrong path.

I won't speak to people who haven't installed Bakelite fittings throughout

Surprised you turned up on time???

All of ours are lap black nickel and they look fantastic. Of course the MK ones are used by contractors, because they look horrible. Crabtree are probably some of the best... I can't believe this is an honest conversation

No. Screw bulb fittings are becoming more common here because they are common across the EU and US. There is no standard for plug sockets and UK plug sockets are far superior than EU or US ones - though more expensive to produce due to additional safety features.

does this mean our plug sockets will be changing too as Europe's and US's are different?

I was not sure what sure what lumens are you talking about. I wrongly assumed that you thought 7W will be better just because it is less.

Not sure if you are just being pedantic but, filament LEDs give out the same lumens at 7w as older type LEDs give out at 9 or 10w. The osram filament LEDs I mention are 806 lumens, same as the Philips ones. So the Osrams are more efficient. And they have them in BC fitting too.

they still make them, check amazon
