Pixel 5 is good but I find the price higher than it should be. Just waiting for it to go down.

Outinthefields

Yeah front camera and maximum brightness sucks, but everything else is top notch.

nitro228

Focusing is much better, especially as you can focus lock in Pro mode. Why not the pixel 5 though? Still the best android camera for point and shoot pictures

salespalace

Camera on this is excellent, But I'm told the front facing one needs some improving. Rear one probably takes the most natural photos out there. I'm really happy to see Sony stepping up there game. One thing I've noticed though as I was skeptical is the battery life for a 4000mAh battery, it ran miles ahead of the snapdragon s20 ultra I used. I would say this is a better buy than the s20 fe 5g range

bazza1603

It's amazing as it's got tracking software... It has got very minimal lag in dark areas. Light is better

Credit to @Demok for this on the other deal, but again a stupidly cheap deal for a phone that has just released and is £799. Whole contract for 24 months works out less than th… Read more

Yes, had a bit of a play out and about this morning with the camera and pretty happy with it. (y) Will give things another few days but am now 80-90% decided to keep.

absolutebeginner

Eye focus should be great. I have it on my Sony Alpha cameras and is quite amazing for portraits.

bazza1603

I think the camera is great. I have come from a P20 Pro and also have a Nikon D7500. The colours are real, but I'm very happy with the quality.

JonStéphens

For me the camera was the most important bit and the camera was very underwhelming I expected top of the range but it was just slightly better than my samsung m31. I'm sure if you know all the camera settings and know how to use the camera pro bit it will be great but I haven't got a clue about that kind of stuff and I don't really fancy changing the settings for each picture. The specs on the phone are way better than my m31 and the phone feels smoother than it but I have no need for the specs as my m31 is perfect right now for me. As for it being on o2 I had no issues with o2 and they're usually very reliable where I am so that works out well. The contract will cost me £780, I sold the phone for £410 then I sold the headphones for £10 a month for 24 months so that is £240 off my bill which leaves me with £130 to pay out of my own pocket for 40 gb data for 2 years so overall I think it worked out well. I also have £50 cashback aswell which I haven't counted till I get it

Paranoia

Yes - my order of this arrived today. It's good value at £9. Now to find a decent tempered glass screen protector...

Was contemplating between this and the Google Pixel 5 but this price just won me over and seems to be a decent deal. Use code VC30 on payment screen. It is supposed to take off £30… Read more

Just to add, i managed to sell my headphones on ebay for £108 pounds yesterday. I am thinking those that wish to sell the headphones should get around £100 to £120 for it, considering they can be had for £150 brand new from Currys PC World.

bazza1603

Yes

Zii..

Are the handsets unlocked to all networks??

M0h05h1n

Yes very impressed with battery life on the phone, Cant wait for Android 11 come December. Makes a change from my previous Essential PH-1 phone which i had to charge twice a day and the phone dying on me with 10% battery left.

RadiantDuck

Just in case anyone is interested, I'm getting great battery life, 6 1/2 screen on time with 30% left, with 120hz on, varying screen brightness and a mixture of intensive games, browsing, watching videos and listening to music through the speakers and through Bluetooth

Yeah I know that the software and processing video chips prevent the screen burn on Sony oleds, unlike LG tvs I know 3 family members with who have had burn in and banding issues with LG tvs, one them also owns a Sony AG8 without any issues

rev6

All OLED TV's use LG panels.

Bavy

Yeah true not heard of any sony with oled burn in, me and my wife have Xperia 1 since June 2019, no problems, my dad has xperia 5, no issues, Sony have good quality panels, same with there sony oled tvs, never hear about burn in issues only LG. As for brightness it's bright enough for me, you can turn adaptive brightness off, if you want it brighter but the standard settings OK

plewis00

Only Samsung and Google seem to be affected badly. Apple suffers very little burn-in even if abused and fairly sure the Sony panels are resilient too - probably helped by them not being that bright (there are lots of complaints about the 5 having a dim OLED).

rev6

As long as you look after it. You know, make sure it has a wash in the morning and before bed. I heard if you tuck it in bed too it reduces chance of screen burn.

spongebob1913

how long do these usually take to drop in price? I fancy one, but in no rush. I know samsungs often tank shortly after release.

flctch

Might have to look into flashing firmware. Don't suppose you know if that will lead to any other knock on effects?

jo77ua

Strange, tbf think you can even pay it off in the O2 app, should show straight away even if you don't yet have mobile - such a great deal this, surprised it's not got more attention.

JamieSel

Yeah, I know, it wouldn't let me select the full price to pay upfront, so went with as much as it would let me. Will pay the extra off when I cancel.

jo77ua

Good stuff, you should hopefully really like it - mine was on eBay straight away cause I'm happy with my note 10 plus but from the short 5 - 10 mins I used it - it felt really fast and is miles better looking/handling then the xperia 1 ii. Don't think it was just the 120 hz screen either, just felt real nippy and responsive. Can I just add that I don't know what you've done but £640 upfront isn't the full value, so just make sure you pay the remaining £37.64 if you intend to cancel the SIM part :)
