All Microsoft Surface Pro 6 Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2019
In all likelihood the next Surface won’t be until at least spring next year. For one, it has always gone that way; October release then spring release a year and a half later, then every new Surface Pro has had a generation leap in processor. also, the previous generation tend to keep their price quite well and an 8th gen i5 is still pretty fast.
Zippppppyyyyy, what you doing in here ;) Joking aside this is great value IMO - they are price matching the Microsoft shop but JL allways trumps with great support.
i can tell you the difference between ram and marmalade?
Can you tell me what ram is?
Distributors desperately flogging the last out of the days when they can fool the market that £779 is a great deal. When the next gen is out soon consumers will have much more difficulty palleting £779 for these.. I'm only somewhat surprised the big distros are not going in at £749 or less. I guess there's still bounty to be had at this price when the main distros seem to be holding the line together and keeping it above £750 Edit: Not voting down, but also not up on this one as although it's possibly worth the money (somewhat) I'm personally not going to buy above £750 and waiting for October where these will likely be cleared or at least cut well below £750 which imo is where a 128GB machine with this spec should (will) be. For example I wonder what price the 256GB pro 6 models will be on deals in November. I've got a gaming laptop that will happily tide me over until then, but do admire the form factor of these so bring on October etc
still in 2 minds about this or a macbook but the 10% and amex offer may sway my way
Looks like Topcashback offering a nice 10% cashback too from Microsoft store. Ooosh
Question more around AMEX offers in general. Anyone had the Platinum Cashback Everyday card and then switched to the Platinum Cashback card (with the £25) fee? Wondering if there is a difference between the offers that come through for the fee-paying card, as I rarely have any, yet spend a lot on there!
The surface is not easy to repair so would say the longer 2 year warranty at JL for the same price is worth £50-£100 in my opinion.. Before allowing for CB + discounts.
And also 10% TC, If it is for Personal use: 779-(77.9TCB +100 Amex ) =600 buiness use : 779-(77.9TCB +100 Amex+ 156 VAT) = 444
It Yes, this does make sense. It just seems like the fact that the form factor has not changed since the SP4, that they will need a genuine update sooner rather than later. Perhaps they will afford to wait until next May. I personally hope so. It may mean a move to better CPUs, and real USB-C support.
Indeed there were, I know. SP3: June 2014 SP4: October 2015 (16 months) SP5: May 2017 (19 months) SP6: October 2018 (17 months) So:
There were devices in 2017 and 2018. I know because I have them both.
If it follows the release trend, the next one won't be until June next year.
So it's £664 (w/o keyboard) after £125 credit. Can anyone find it cheaper with a 2 year warranty? Cheapest I can find is £750 with keyboard. Thanks
I’m using this one at work. Its ok for daily stuff. Its super cool when used with dock and bigger screen+keyboard. It transforms with single cable plug from tablet use to desktop on the fly. Nice when you need to have more work done.
microsd card expansion
yeah agree.. not bad but just not good enough 128gb.. gets you a windows and office with a couple photos and vids and that's about it.
Got the i5, 8GB, 256GB. Hands down the best device I've ever used. Even gone as far as to get the Surface Dock and replace my desktop (8700k, 1080ti). This became a quicker, more convenient and more enjoyable way to browse. Can't recommend it enough.
If you go to Microsoft website, it says "419 off for students and business". So i think there is way to get it with this price even if you are not a student
it's available to anyone, not just students
Is this a touchscreen please?
I use the SP6 on my lap regularly, and it is no less usable than my XPS13. The only difference is the touch pad, which doesn't click quite as well when the SP6 is on my lap.
This is a really good device, and the price is still good, but we're now getting to the point where you shouldn't buy unless you absolutely have to. It won't be long before Microsoft have put out the next SP, and that's almost certain to have USB-C, and an improved type cover that will attach to the back of the tablet when folded around. As ever, it'll be subjected to the usual deals a few weeks after launch.
Area you referring to the Surface Go? I agree, it seems quite high, but no worse than an iPad? (:I
For the specs it's pretty overpriced really, if they discount it a little further then it'd be worth it
Price is £899, not £855.
Cashback never guaranteed so price needs to be £899.
There's a 16gb i5 version soon apparently
No keyboard on the eBay listing
It does say type cover sold separately when you click on the pictures of the item, can anyone confirm please.
website with COMP50 seems to be the best deal atm
If you got a old laptop lying around you can get this in store at pc world for £799
Same deal at Microsoft store on the nice black version and don’t forget cashback on Quidco :-) microsoft.com/en-gb/store/config/Surface-Pro-6/8ZCNC665SLQ5?crosssellid=surfacefamily3a&selectedColor=000000&preview=&previewModes=
Both the 128gb & 256gb i5 with type cover is out of stock had it been this would have been a great deal :(
£900 for just the device without the type cover seems a bit steep given the very recent deals, albeit we don't have time machines to go back. I also understand there will be 15% off Currys ebay tomorrow and given they sell this for the same price, this should be cheaper then.
solid price for solid device :)
Expired and no more stock apparently
This is not true, it's only in recent weeks that bundle has been at 749... I've been tracking the price since the Black Friday deals :D Surface Pro 6 is being discontinued, Currys PC World are exhausting their stock.
Also good price for the 256GB: https://www.johnlewis.com/microsoft-surface-pro-6-tablet-intel-core-i5-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-12-3-inch-touchscreen-silver-with-keyboard/p3829654
You have 30 days to return an item. Buy a replacement straight away as this price might change soon (it was probably Easter, Bank Holiday special). Then you can return it as a previous purchase.
So in other words, price is NOT "the same everyone". Out of stock doesn't mean it's coming back into stock at that price. When I have none, I'm selling them at £500.
How is the video misleading when it clearly shows how you have to literally destroy the device in order to access its internals? Maybe you consider harware obsolete after three years, but to me that's just plain wrong. A ten-year-old laptop can easily keep up with modern software, and brought up to virtually equal performance standards if you can replace the RAM and replace the hard drive with an SSD - which you were commonly able to do even on consumer laptops 10 years ago before they became un-fixable disposable clamshells. I have a Sony laptop from 2005 which I still use daily. It actually has small hatches on the underside, openable with a single Philips screw, to allow removal/upgrade of RAM, hard drive, and optical drive. Buying disposable devices is just wrong for so many reasons.
Depends what you're doing with it I guess, the inbuilt flash storage will be far quicker for reads/writes and have better IOPs than a micro SD. Agree though, that's a huge difference in price.
disagreed and the video is misleading. I consider myself pretty good with hardware (Computer Engineering grad), The amount of machines I have had to open in the last 10 years is exactly 1: my gaming desktop that I open to install additional upgrades. My current Macbook has been with me for 5 years and never opened. The iPad Air 2 has been used for 4 years, never opened. The point I am making is that these machines generally do not need repairs for 3 or so years, at which point, any electronic machine is pretty much due for an upgrade. I do not currently own a surface pro 6, but from what I have heard, it is a solid machine and compared to iPad (which some call an expensive Netflix machine and I agree (having owned one)), this machine is a full on PC that lets you get work done.
That's what insurance is for...
Anyone remotely considering buying one of these needs to watch this video first: Basically the devices are utterly un-repairable and un-maintainable. They're essentially disposable. They represent everything that's wrong with modern technology and are the antithesis of responsible manufacturing and terrible for the environment and for consumers.
Thanks for the response. What I meant was, I already have a one x and wanted to know if its possible to stream my games across from my xbox to the surface pro?
Tbh. If you want to play Xbox games get and Xbox one. They only 350 or so now and alternative computers can’t matchh their performance unless you spend a lot. I dont think this is for gaming
Are these any good for gaming or streaming? I was looking for a device that would stream xbox games - will this machine be capable ?
Mine to be delivered today. My John Lewis one also came and the outer box was damaged and so it was one corner of the actual box. That’s crazy. Spend so much and they put it in a crappy box. If the curry’s one is sealed then I’ll keep that. I’m still not sure if I should stick to John Lewis 2 yr warranty for the extra £75. What are theee machines like for breakdown ?
why quote a law which is useless in a few weeks?
It's ok. Sometime it happens ;)
Apologies! Missed that. Yes, a decent deal.
and that would be i5, the one here is i7 . :)
Both were available. Here's the 256GB price.
I think that was 128gb ones
£200 less for the 128GB version. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/microsoft-surface-pro-6-123-i5-8gb-128gb-storage-2736x1824-ips-storage-with-platinum-type-cover-699-wcode-ebay-ao-3216931
Yes... Check out my thread on this (current) for Microsoft store with Amex£100 cashback. You can get it for£799.
£649 with Amex save £100 on £400 spend for 128GB / £799 for £256GB https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/surface-pro-6-bundle/90DG79G888VC?icid=HP-Hero1-CTA1-P14539&activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab
Quite tempted by this but not sure it does include the type cover as I'd expect it to say so in the main title as it does on their main site. ao.com/product/ljk00003-microsoft-surface-pro-6-laptop-silver-63007-251.aspx May be worth a check with ao before purchase. Slightly off topic but has anyone found a deal for the 256GB Black version?
This looks like a really good deal. Might go for it instead of an iPad.
How does this compare to the surface pro 4 is it worth the upgrade?
I had around 200gb left in my 256gb so I suspect its arond 70gb or so. Could be slightly more if you disable hibernation etc.
Around 90GB. Highly recommend getting a cheap 256GB Micro SD Card.
hey has anyone used it? does that clip works fine? or it gets "funky"after some time?
How much space is left once setup & running
So many deals on these lately.. is a new model coming?
Mine just progressed to payable @ £31.21. Tried to submit a claim but can't as it's past their '30 day time limit for this retailer'. Sent a support ticket to query this and they replied: "We would normally advise that you lodge a claim, however, Microsoft Store have a claim limit of 30 days from the transaction date for a claim to be lodged. Regrettably, if you were to lodge a claim now, it would exceed this limit and this means that their associated network are unable to look into claims for this merchant. This is a decision made by the merchant and not ourselves. Even if we were able to override this decision, I'm afraid that your claim would be declined without being looked into. I am truly sorry for the disappointment felt and if you have any further questions, please get back in touch."
Same as above. Got £37 cashback and not the 8%. Anyone query this with tcb?
Anybody else got tcb yet?
My TCB has been uplifted to £37.46 which isn't the 8% I expected but it's better than £5.21. Check your TCB accounts.
Microsoft bundle has ended.. Amex cashback still valid for msstore purchases if activated.
The Surface Pro has a mini display port. All you need is a mini display to display or mini display to hdmi cable.
I would suggest that HDMI is more vital for a travel laptop than for a normal one. I certainly made a huge amount of use out of the built in video out port on my old Surface 3. It's aggravating on the new Surface Go to always have to use an adapter to run video out, or even to plug in a full size USB device Dongles are a poor and unnecessary substitute
Discount code has expired
HDMI isn't essential to everyone, certainly to those who buy travel laptops with 12" screens. Sacrifices are always made for smaller devices and its only a tenner for an adapter. Thunderbolt 3 is a bigger ommission.
Spending upwards of £800 for a 2019 machine you should not have to buy a separate dongle to project via HDMI
Great price - but I think the German keyboard kills this for me :-(
Ah yes, you are right, my bad - the platinum in the title confused me into thinking thats the colour of the cover :(
Look at the basket after you add it. It's a platinum surface pro and black type cover by default. Thank you for your cooperation Sir. X
Is it possible to swap or replace keys on a type cover to make it more UK compatible?
As per the listing it is the platinum type cover (confused)
