starbidder

He’s just taken over BRITISH MILITARY FITNESS (BMF) and renamed it BE MILITARY FIT with a new logo and got rid of the Lion much to the (mad) annoyance of many BMF devotees. Dumbing down the brand and the work ethos. :| apparently.

NIgelK

Wouldn't have anything to do with anything that he's attached to. Two animals killed on his Island show for 'entertainment' and he now wants to build a shark prison in this country. He should stick to 5 star hotels.

Thanks, appreciate your comments. Just very, very surprised at how people voted based on their apparent hatred of The Sun. In fact the first person who commented on it started of with a four letter rant, which I had to ask a mod to remove. Oh well my intention was definitely from a good place although hundreds of our users of the site thought otherwise. Thanks for your positive feedback again though, at least the deal has closed with a positive :)

amour3k

OP .. it was a good offer, despite it being voted cold at the time.

GeeeBeee

Thanks! XD

I don't think I went on a tangent as you were the one to bring moral/social responsibility into the purchasing of a rubbish newspaper . I was just pointing out that if you want to start thinking that way then nearly everything anyone buys isn't really "needed" or socialy/morally responsible . A deal is a deal

yadiyada

You've gone on quite a tangent there. If you really want to place no emphasis on the morality of what you're buying (The Sun having delivered 3 decades of trauma on Hillsborough survivors & their families), then that is your prerogative. But it isn't mine. In answer to your other points. I upgraded my phone this year. The last time I had a new phone was 3.5 years ago. I cycle rather than drive. I do take flights to places, but try to offset that by being a veggie. It's difficult in this world to make choices that are morally/ethically sound. But we're talking about buying something you don't need (The Sun) in order to get something you don't need, a coffee. It doesn't require overanalysis or pretty ridiculous comparisons to other things we do need far more.

Hot from me, but it's a shame the stadium is less than half full today, such a waste of around £8 million to keep converting it back for athletics - but I blame LOCOG for not designing it properly in the first place. That world cup event last weekend was a farce and on completley the wrong day - with Wimbledon & football on the same day. I've heard that Crystal Palace might get a refurb, would be better back there with a smaller but full stadium AND if they put it all back to Friday night instead of trying to spread it over 2 days - RANT over!

Sure but for a given factor you want 5 * wilko sell five stars for next to nothing

oscarita

I used to think that until I read this”. The stars range from 0 to 5 and indicate the percentage of UVA radiation absorbed by the sunscreen in comparison to UVB, in other words the ratio between the level of protection afforded by the UVA protection and the UVB protection” so that means that 3* on a factor 50 is better uva protection that a 5* on a factor 15. That quote was from http://www.bad.org.uk/for-the-public/skin-cancer/sunscreen-fact-sheet

jnigel26

Very true. But no need for skeptical face, had you not noticed that delivery is £1.99? ie that makes it £14.99 if my maths are right (unless you have Prime or want to spend OVER 20 quid) See, £13.99 is cheaper than £14.99 - 8) and far cheaper than trying to make it up to over £20 (unless you need something else for at least £6.02 at that moment in time). Plus you have to wait for it in the post. Will it arrive nice and perfect? Probably. Go to Sainsburys and pick the one that is sealed perfectly and mint. Problem with it, take it back - Sainsbury's change refund virtually anything! AND as I said first time around, get Nectar points added or use them to buy it. I'll say it again. NO CONTEST! :D (unless your Sainsburys is out of stock - ours has 4 of them on the shelf).

All probes / rovers and suchlike burn up or run out of fuel eventually. It's the data sent back to earth which helps us understand the cosmos better and advance our scientific knowledge. When the mission is complete I'm sure you will be able to read about the findings in scientific journals first. You'll then find simpler explanations in the newspapers for Joe public.

PetrolHeadRR

Damn, I've just added my name to the list. Wish I've read that before sending it :/

jasonq794

Why would NASA spend any money sending a rocket to the sun, when it's just going to burn up? What scientific data or research could they hope to get from this?

We have previously gone away 19th March week as it does seem to have plenty of no extras dates, but with the little one starting school shortly I looked at school holiday dates and it is very difficult to find a reasonably priced holiday within a reasonable driving distance from the NE. Devon/Cornwall seems to have dates but too far for a short break. I'm hoping the April/May booking releases some suitable under-booked parks.
