I noticed this glitch last night, just to confirm it comes with EU plug. Really good heater with 0.3C accuracy for aquariums up to 450 litres.

I filled a tank about 4 years ago with 6 females and 1 male guppy. They all breed but nearly all of the babies are eaten by the adults. Long story short I think I’m on generation 6 of interbreeding at this point. Old ones die off, a few of the babies make it to adulthood and it repeats. There’s about 12 adults in the tank now (god knows which father, uncle, fathers father or mother’s fathers mother bred - but the cycle just keeps on going.) Haven’t done anything else with the tank. Amazing really. They all started off with red finns but none of those are left and now I’m left with all sorts of colours.

Depends on the cichlids, something calm like keyholes are easy beginner fish most cichlids have a reputation for aggression especially if breeding

Andy

Expired now, but lovely first deal @stevenmcculloch21 - cheers for sharing :)

Are these better than Biorbs?

I started with 15 Cichlids and a 5 foot tank (I bought the lot for £50 from a guy whose visa was expiring). I now have 1. The 1 left, literally ate all the others. He doesn't play well with friends but seems to be happy now. Should probably have knew something about fish keeping before I started.I have had him (her?) for 5 years. When it dies I'm getting Tetras. Very relaxing just watching fish.

Na, Axolotl’s don’t have eye lids and are sensitive to light so I decided to not use any light which benefits the both of us (lol)

LanzaJet

Misunderstood I thought you meant that the lights acted as a heater - I though it was some type of new tech.

uddatime

More dead fish - £25 for a transient cheap thrill & a lesson in death for the kids - do lidl sell aquarium test kits, methylene blue, anything vaguely resembling animal healthcare ? Didn't think so - they should stick to selling junk food to the consumer frenzied masses - leave the animals out of it 🙌

Zeb1

So much cruelty to fish by idiots wanting instant gratification and pretty fish in their living rooms,no idea what’s involved,so many fish to die at hands of people who think they just have to fill the tank from the tap and bung some neons in!

greg666

They don’t like light so I don’t have lights

Hmm, we bought a couple of those recently. They're pretty naff I'm afraid. My kids didn't like the noise they made either. One got binned and the other not far from it - the jelly fish tank, not the kids.

Ringfinger

Seen similar thing with 'jellyfish' , made even more impressive with black light. They glow and move. Realistic. One of them I'm looking for.

Bendown

Me as well. will pass since like you say the reviews are poor

mickanddot

Wild geese chase!(skeptical)

ellie27

Was going to buy it but reviews are pretty bad - leaking etc

Didnt believe that the filter that comes with this tank could be so bad and tried for weeks thinking I know better. It really is pretty bad the bag contains the filter media is sadsack In the space provided and only I'd you run way under capacity is it ok. We didnt upgrade too much we got an aqua flow 300 it's good enough if you put the filters before the ceramics.

JonoSaunders

The external filters are great. Good luck.

DirkDiggler

Thanks, will probably pick one soon.I want to use Eheim classic external canister filter for better filtration + it isn't huge like the included internal filter, but need to find some sort of stand for it ,their original stand are over £100 and very basic, not worth it at all imo. yeah bigger is always better but for me, going from 45L current one to 105L will be a huge upgrade.I wanted the 80l first..and really don't have room for larger than this! I'll be using Eheim Classic 250 external filter.they are excellent, and can clean upto 250 litre so should be more than enough for this.

martin.gamesfb

Yes on both sides at back.

JonoSaunders

Sorry cavy Answer that I have a different tank. I had to cut the lid carefully for mine. I run a fluval roma 240L with a fluval 307 extenal. As you say I cut the lid on mine. The next size up 260L I think the pipes connect through the bottom of the tank. Definately worth buying as big a tank as you can afford so the water quality maintainence is easier.

We still have our fish we won at the fair, he is now 8 years old.

bladesuk1

basically yes, they'll be fine for a few hours, depending on the fish and the temperature difference between the tank and the room. if you keep the tank really hot in a cold room, it'll chill faster and the fish won't like it. if there's only a couple of degrees difference, it's much less of a problem. you can wrap the tank with a duvet to help insulate it, too. some fish are more sensitive than others, though, but bear in mind that in the wild many fish go through temperature cycles as part of their breeding cycle so a few degrees variation over a period of time won't be a major problem. if the lights go, don't worry about the fish - the lights are basically there so you can see them, and so that your live plants get some energy. the fish won't give a hoot either way, other than to scatter when they turn on. as always, the bigger the tank, the more forgiving it is, and the easier it is to look after. the only major issue (imo) is if your heater breaks or the filter packs up completely. to handle that, either have a backup to hand, or know where you can get a replacement quickly. most pet shops will have something available as a short term fix to keep things ticking over until you can sort it properly. you'll naturally accumulate backups over the years, though, and they're generally very reliable these days so i'd say it's not something to get overly concerned about.

Same here, with a goldfish I won at a fairground and carried home in a little polythene bag of water, I'll bet they don't do that any more!

Aerobiz

Actually a Silver Arowana from the Amazon. But I really like all arowana. Except the African one, that sucks. He is a big boy though, a real terror.
