I did this for a year, but you can't do it the next year. You should ring up to cancel or you will get letters etc saying you owe them if you just cancel the direct debit

smah

Dont really understand how to get it for free. Can anyone please explain? Thanks

twinmum2012

Cancel the DD after the last payment then it can't auto renew

cburns

Had this...great for piece of mind... but gotta say... I HATE ANY AUTO RENEWAL As the person named on the policy is the ONLY one who can cancel it... even if you pay for it with your card :( When you take any policy out...ask to be taken off auto renewal unless you really want it

By living in a less risky postcode I suspect :|

sofiasar

comes to £90 for me,, how did you get it at that price

RussiB

From £50.91? You can get it cheaper if you take off insurance of items away from home - so no, not FROM £50.91.

RussiB

I choose the standard home contents insurance plus the option to cover items whilst away from the house e.g. mobile, laptop, tablet etc. - £40k worth of cover for household goods + cover for items away from house at value £1500 or under. Hope that helps.

sofiasar

Bit confusing. Looked but what options do you choose to get it at that price??

b careful with tesco value. The excesses are horrendous and cover limits low

StevenA2000_uk

An opinion based on quotes from around 24 main insurers where Tesco came out the most expensive. the top 8 prices were in line with average prices whereas Tesco were 300% more expensive. Needless to say that Tesco clearly have a radically different pricing model from other main insurers.

matedodgy

Swiftcover and Tesco Value are the cheapest for me this year.

gram333uk

Had mine with them for last 2 years, undercut the cheapest on comparison sites by £20

Goodfella123

...in your opinion. Cheaper for some, more expensive for others. Nothing new there.

Did this a few weeks ago - worked out over £200 cheaper than my previous insurer including £75 quidco.

deanos

Dont think they do, got my renewal from Aviva last week it was 50p more expensive than last year when i got the free contents included.

Ozzie

as usual loyal existing customers miss out.

equalityforall

Quotes for me and parents with that lot were just so expensive, I thought they were taking the pill. As it was, Sainsbury's had £110 Quidco cashback, and Halifax gave £50 to parents, and were alreaedy low quotes, so had buildings and contents for little over £100, in 2 different parts of the country. Don't bank on cashback, just ensure you've got the right cover, at the right price, from a reputable organisation.

DAMNOME

Aviva was cheapest for me too this year for 2 cars and house insurance and had quidco on top too

If your getting £50 cash back from Lloyds I think this would over ride Quidco.

sprocket

Quidco wont work as you cant click directly through their link, you have to click through your internet banking link.

Jamie090186

Yeah would be good, i might start to insure everyone in my street and make £22 on all their heads! Just have to wait and see if quidco changes from coming soon! Which is strange really because i got cashback the other week!

csiman

My quote came to £63 for the annual premium less £50 cashback = £13 so if quidco paid out I'd be £22 in profit!

cold as much better deals from quidco (I got £90 back on contents from AIG and £100 back on buildings from Natwest). Premiums were very good before the cashback.

I've had insurance on & off with PO for years and had no complaints. My boiler broke around 6pm one Sunday night - someone was out to fix it by 10.30 next day under their emergancy cover - which is automatically included. Have been shopping around again and no-one can beat them, even without the £50 cashback. They do still use a panel of insurers but it usually depends what excesses you want on the policy as to who gives the best qoute - if you're happy with £250 excess on car insurance Norwich Union always give best price. If you ask them for less excxess you tend to find that they offer a price from someone else.

saintmich82

This offer is not available "instore", (I manage a PO!) obviously we have all the promotional literature, but we don't have the facility to set up or admin any of our insurance products, it all has to go through the website or call centre The PO initially used to get quotes from a panel of insurers (bit like having their own version of confused/money supermarket I guess) this was stopped quite soon after launch and all policies were provided by Norwich Union, now they're all administered by BISL Ltd. I don't have my car insurance with PO, but I do have my contents with them - I also had the misfortune of having to make a claim on my home insurance last year and it couldn't have been easier (and no, that's not just because I work for them!). Details were taken and the claim dealt with very efficiently, had my vouchers to replace the damaged goods within 7 days.

paul.jacobs

plus £25ish cashback from quidco Voted Cold as my RAC van insurance was about £150 cheaper even with cashbacks. ALso to note that I used 3 of the major comparison websites the Post Office came top in most of them but the RAC was much better offering a replacement van, breakdown cover and legal cover for alot less. They also offered an additional breakdown card for my wife for about £10 extra. Moral - don't trust the comparison sites

Would Quidco (£75) cashback still apply here? Can't see why not. Personally, with the amount of cashback on offer, it may still be better to get buldings and contents with separate companies (a combination of Barclays and LloydsTSB would give you £245 cashback!!).
