Got one of these a little while back. As already mentioned, not very strong. Broke when my 3 year old put her wellies on it enthusiastically.
Its more of the wood which does eventually split away and there is a high risk of splinters too. But good on you for managing it well.
Seen a couple of comments like this. I picked mine up yesterday, bought 3. No idea what people are using them for but absolutely fine to hold a few pairs of shoes. No idea how these could snap under normal use as some have said. (Picture provided to prove they will not crumble under the pressure of a few pairs of size 10). Well worth 6 quid imo.
the hooks are the only weak part of this! the structure is very strong and great quality But i'd to change my hooks after a year or so as I'd just too much on them, they didn't break they just bent a bit -- cheap and easy to replace from Amazon
Can anyone comment on how the hooks hold up with heavy coats?
Umbrellas.....bit posh for me (lol)
Isn't that for Umbrellas?
Yeah I've got one ...they are pretty good ..though I sometimes wonder what good the over hang bit is . They do look good in a hall way
I'm sure this use to be £5 for years. Very cheap and will break easily from experience.
Love the exposed screw head detail. Why hide screws? They are beautiful
Argos think they can charge more nowadays cause it's got Habitat on it.They aren't as cheap as they used to be. Two examples of my purchases are A Duracell battery charger with 4 batteries Amazon £18.49 and Argos £30. Same one. 45 min charge, Secondly small plastic tiered tray with 3heights for in a tins cupboard HomeBargains £2.50 , Argos £6 exactly the same except Argos had a Habitat sticker on (horror)
A similar one is £10 at B&M, but the OP is Argos/Habitat.
£14 at Wickes - https://www.wickes.co.uk/3-Tier-Pine-Shoe-Rack/p/239380
£270 was never paid for a cabinet made from MDF with a fake plastic oak looking veneer. Other companies like Curries state the length of their price reducing cons (usually an inflated price nobody will pay, but allows them to half the price two weeks later) Even at £141 it's still way too much and I can't help feeling this will be on a landfill before the decade is out.
Straight outta Compton.
It also says it's "Made from oak and MDF with a wood effect finish" and "Oak doors are offset by a painted black wooden frame". Companies should be very clear about using fake coverings imo and it is very often the case these days that they part advertise as actual oak and then add effect somewhere to try and cover themselves on complaints.
It's almost as if the word 'effect' is a clue, fancy that :)
Now even cheaper than last time, this sideboard is £39.99 delivered using code SMF30 , which is a bargain if you ask me. Free delivery to UK mainland postcodes. Admittedly it is made of p…
Thanks op :)
Very 1958 - but that's not necessarily a bad thing!
I have one of their tables easy to assemble and sturdy with a black frame. Would have been interested in this other than the gold frame
What a bargain, not a bad price at £80 so £40 is a steal! Thanks OP.
Considering this one. Bought their dining set and shoe rack. They're good for the price but because it's usually screws going directly into hollow metal it can be quite a wobbly assembly. I wish they had copied Ikea in this case as Ikea uses a metal joiner to prevent that flaw
What? Why 95% of the heat would be generated by the back of the radiator? I think 95% of false, non-sense information is generated by you...
It helps with storing the heat for longer.
People aren't buying these for efficiency. These are pretty useful for covering ugly rads, giving a shelf above the rad and in young kids rooms.
We have friends (a couple in their 60s and fully retired so home all day). These were both professional people when working with very responsible roles. In other words, very intelligent, well educated people. We saw them a couple of weeks ago and they told us their response to the energy crisis was to save costs by having their whole house heating set to 15c at night and 16c in the day because their heating engineer told them to do it. The world is slowly going mad.....
