I came across (got to play with) my first iPad today. Within SECONDS I was convinced I've been wasting my time on my Nook HD+, and/or 10" Hannspree Helios and I'm certain this iPad (my new toy) is an older version...a family cast off, so I'm voting HOT...fer iPads <3

Thanks for that, all a bit clearer now I guess! I'd be tempted to keep if they offered say £50, I'd expect they will offer you a little more if you say you want to return it. The gamble is if there's any problems 3 months down the line.

Darryl2312 & stefwalker So i have had an interesting afternoon learning a bit more about apple products... The idad turned up as expected in the brown box but covered in the same cellophane as a brand new ipad (my wife purchased a brand new air 3 a few weeks ago). The first issue came with turning on the ipad - it had a passcode (confused) . I managed to restore it using my MacBook. But, if there was an iCloud account on the ipad, the ipad would have been 'activation locked' after the restore and can only be unlocked by apple or the iCloud account holder - luckily it wasn't. The i checked the warranty status (Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Supportcheckcoverage.apple.com) and it shows that the ipad is out of support... I called the seller and he told me that while it is 'brand new' it doesn't come with apple warranty. this triggered some alarm bells! SO i called apple and the agent spent some time digging into this. Firstly, the purchase date in their systems is April 1st 1978. This notes that the unit is an 'as is' item, bulk sold by apple to resellers and no support given by Apple. Not much about this on the internet, but the agent spent a long time talking to her senior and confirmed these details. Question is no whether i want to keep it.The seller has (not so generously IMHO) offered £20 refund if i do keep it, but it is a decent price for a mint 256gb ipad 3. Two questions - I purchased with credit card, what are my section 75 rights if something goes wrong with the iPad and the seller won't help? - Can a seller state '90 days warranty' on an item that they also state is brand new?

There are some iPad Air 3’s on eBay for a decent price. 385 for the 64gb and 450 for the 256gb. I’ve ordered one and will let you know when I receive it.
