The coke adds flavour to this one. Bottle of weak pish

Mark_EvansA8j

Rather pay the extra £5/£6 and get something much better like Glenmorangie 10...

trannyboy

I like only fresh ground pepper on my chips. If I like the taste of something it's my choice.

mccririck

Whats the point of a single malt with cola? Just use a blended, Or use rum.

trannyboy

Lovely with cola.

Oban is what I usually buy although it seems to have become harder to find, at least locally and in duty free when travelling. I recently discovered Amazon were selling it and managed to get a bottle on a deal for £38 but its usually closer to £50 these days! I still remember the days you could buy a bottle coming back via Geneva for about £25 but sadly that was a long time ago now! Other than that Dalwhinney and Bowmore are both nice but it really depends on your personal taste, they have various price points depending on age etc. I think the younger Bowmore's can be as low as about £25 some times and Dalwhinney is in the £30+ bracket although I've not bought either for a while as I still have the Oban to savour and a nice Jameson's Signature Reserve :)

Lucyeff

(lol) I'm saying nowt! Haha! Thanks so much for that! I'll go and have a look. It's a big birthday and she's quite fussy so I'm trying to get it right, I really appreciate your reply. (y)

Only if you don’t like her :D Is it single malt specifically? For mid 30s you could get these. Both are excellent. There are obviously lots of other options. I'm guessing this won't be the best for a gift, reading the comments? Can anyone recommend a good one for around £30 please, I'm clueless about whisky and it's for my sister in law, the pressure's on :S XD

DanielPark

40 quid now probably best to mark this as dead

Mark_EvansA8j

No and there's very little information online. No age statement is a red flag for any whisky bottled at 40% for me.

Darren_Wilsond2p

Not tried the red wine cask but £30 for litre of jura ain't half bad!

The_Bounty_Bear

If it's a Jura, i strongly advise to try before you buy.

A good deal for a 1 litre bottle for anybody in store or doing a food shop with them anyway. Not tried it so can’t comment on how good it is

I actually didn't mind Jura 10 but there's so much better competition at this price point it's towards the bottom of the list. I'd definitely bite at £20 though.

The_Bounty_Bear

Cause Jura is the Bolton Wanderers of distilleries right now. Awful Awful whisky even at this price. You can still grab Jamesons Black Barrel for £2 more off Amazon. Night and day

winzzz

It’s all personal, but for me even at £25 I wouldn’t consider buying this again. It lacked depth and wasn’t enjoyable. I used it for mixer in the end.

Pualle

Did somebody serve it with ice cubes? (highfive) Seems like a good price to me, but I've not had Jura for a couple of years. I went off it. I would give it another go, but I'm in isolation, and I can't get a delivery date from Morrisons. Got food in my basket, and there's no slots available.

There's a 10% off code that appears as a pop up, not sure if it'll work with Sale prices - AV10JW (actually, just tested it now I'm at a Desktop PC - it doesn't work).

Great price and an amazing watch. So much better in person. Only caution is that I originally got the 42mm and those lugs are huge and extended beyond my wrist - 42mm watched are normally fine with me. Got the 38mm and it’s the perfect size. I paid almost 100 more than this price

DJGoose81

sashforth

Sorry but you are mistaken. For example, Jura are only £551.65 for the 6x pro after the code.

twbbigd

It’s only the solar model that is cheaper with the code at Jura Watches as starting price is still £849 at First Class so thanks to Python for additional links for model variants https://www.firstclasswatches.co.uk/garmin-fenix-6x-pro-solar-titanium-carbon-grey-dlc-black-strap-010-02157-21-p-56867/

Tha Thanks for the links but both those watches are cheaper with Jura using the same NY15 code from this deal.

twbbigd

It’s the usual case of ignorants voting cold based on price rather than understanding the concept of a ‘deal’ I’m afraid. I nearly pulled the trigger on a Tactix but glad I waited. I’m doing the Laugavegur Trail soon so the ability of solar charging to extend battery life is helpful.

Troll on.......

Mike_HUKD

And yet you keep replying. AGAIN, the manufacturer spec is not my imagination, your ego is just too inflated to admit you were wrong. You tell me I’m talking waffle for quoting facts with evidence, but just look at your entire last post. Pathetic. So do you own either of the quartz watches I have linked with evidence of being more accurate? Or are you just “waffling on about something you know nothing about”? Double standards much? (confused)

elektra

Buy the watch enjoy / it hate it, discover how accurate / inaccurate it is. But get way from waffling on about something you know nothing about till you own the product. People are not really interested in comments from fantasy owners they like information from real owners. As I'm sure if you were to Google or take the time to read the link I posted for your benifit I'm not alone with others having similar measurements. But you don't want to know as it debunks your waffle. I'm sure your input would be appreciated if it was based on real world experience mate. Put your money where your mouth is and buy the product and then you would possibly have something worthwhile to regurgitate rather than your constant drooling over data sheets. There's a real world out there mate, enjoy it. And please stop trolling me!!!!. Your getting ever so tiresome, you were amusing when I was being dragged around tesco shopping but this is ridiculous. Bordering on stalking when I pointed out a flaw in your original statement and you spat out your man size dummy. Talking of which I'm off to my AD to see about another SD bye bye Michael , must dash toodle pip old bean ;) .

Mike_HUKD

A watch thread I subscribe to on YouTube just happened to upload a video today about a quartz watch as well. Here's a quartz under £300 that also offers a rating of +-10 seconds a year. Just saying, you wanted more examples. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iIx9rSwd8E

Mike_HUKD

You’ve deteriorated into childish nonsense. I don’t have to own something to comment on it. I’ve been clear since post 1 that I don’t own one, but also that I really like Spring Drive and may own one in the future. I’ve also been clear that the amateur measurement on a single unit are meaningless. The manufacturer, not me, has determined the relative performance to be expected out of their two movements. I 100% guarantee you that if the spec gave the advantage to the Spring Drive you’d be happy to rely on the evidence. Pathetic.

The_Bounty_Bear

Everything i have tried from the new Jura range has been truly awful. If its a big age statement ,chill filtered artificial coloured whisky you are looking for i would bet on the Aldi Xmas offerring over anything from Jura these days (One bonus point for this being 44% ABV) Would seriously advise trying to source a 5cl miniature or a bar pour "try before you buy" before commiting to a full bottle purchase.

IrishRob

It was Jura that first got me into Whisky, so I have a soft spot for this distillery however: I got this 6/12 months ago and found it completely forgettable from start to finish. There was none of the complexity or depth of flavour that I would expect from an 18yo. It didn't taste bad, it just wasn't very interesting. This is a great price for an 18yo single malt, but maybe better suited as a present to give to someone.
