You need to look before the crash and devaluation and not after it. When £1 was about two dollars and two euros. Where is at today's currency rates so imported cocoa is gonna cost us more than those currencies on top of any inflation.

(y) (highfive)

since 2008 all markets apart from gold and wages are back in line with inflation inflation being the key word how can you still argue the same price as of a 20 year model without factoring things like crude price wages coca peanut and as you’ve mentioned sterling and u still want to pay prices and keep weights the same of products sterling is only 10% behind the big boys against eastern markets its back square

I saw Maltesers & Dairy Milk Advent Calendars for £1 in Morrisons today too. Heat, OP

Excuse my ignorance but surely these were designed to be sold for a £1 if they are only stocked and on ‘special’ at the only time of the year anyone would ever need them. I’ll be buying one but at a £1 I’ll consider it the normal price for 100g of chocolate.

Stocked up today it also said the galaxy ones were included but all sold out in my local.

Deregulation is the core issue 100%, and I most definitely blame politicians. The person as a single entity contributes to the system in very simple terms, but if he spends local, the shop pays full taxes and none of the capital is "destroyed." In a mixed economy, the "risk taker" (the supplier) has a right to earned capital. But poorly paid jobs subsidised by the tax payer are not earned capital. Manipulating systems of taxation with corporate lawyers are an investment in parasitism, whereby the spend results in savings through tax evasion. This makes Amazon a parasite in economic terms akin to injecting it's anaesthetic into the host (manipulating tax laws through its corporates, so it doesn't seem like an outright invasive practice of removing the money) to then drain substantially more from the economy, supported by a useless government who won't pay a proper minimum wage and properly regulate employment rights. And I said I wouldn't get into this on a deals website lol. is a fantastic website, covers all of this and more. I love these conversations but I have to get the kids to bed. :D

Agree with the sentiment BUT blame politicians for not closing the loopholes. It’s easy, if you sell it to a uk address you pay tax on it or you are not allowed to trade in UK. Over simplification obviously but you get the idea.

Sorry, but this is a bogus argument. It is known as parasitic rent seeking in economic terms, where money is drained out of the circular system of taxation and spend with no return to the economy. It runs contrary to evolution for the good of the species as a whole, specifically evolutionary economics because it "destroys" native capital. Not really something I want to get into a deals website lol, but the moral stance is supported by the economic one, so had to point this out.

usually £1.50 in other supermarkets bars 12.5% bigger than the supermarket 4pk, which are 39.4g 180g delicious chocolate for 89p just over 22p a bar

doesn't make any difference these days, companies, authorities, they all still carry on doing what they want

Someone has to complain though.

supermarket ones are even less 39.4g

Used to love Mars but buy the Aldi/Lidl ones now, I tried a Mars recently and it tasted horrible in comparison!

Love the mars ‘full’ size which has reduced in size by almost 40% yet price hasn’t. Funny that the 4 pack outer packaging hasn’t reduced much in size, presumably in the hope we will think a bigger bar is inside. All this has done is stopped me buying them altogether

So you don't have lunch during Lunchtime with all the other teachers and students (skeptical) Is that a choose thing since you're boss can't overwork you/give you no breaks, what is stopping you from taking a break? You may be a headteacher but you have a boss.

Nope, I'm a head of education for a group of special needs schools

If you don't mind me asking, what's your business? I'm assuming it's something like Painting, Window Cleaning, Repairs since I see a lot of those

Thanks for the concern, if only everything in life was so simple.

Still something is wrong, you find a time to eat a sandwich or something or at least multitask
