Well I would try it but our poundworld has now closed down.

I would say that is not the best flavour. I've had macaroni cheese and tomato and herb- they were fine imho.

"Tesco's" doesn't exist. There's one called Tesco though.

Cal_G

No, that's Tesco. Tesco's is the equivalent to saying ASDA's, which is also ridiculous.

stressedman

^What they said! Golden wonder sold the name to unilever years ago. Then stated selling these! Can't comment on taste as not tried either since. But used to be addicted to pot noodle in late 90s...! (:I

This must be one of the top 'home cooked' British meals today.

When did you get out from under your rock. They are a supermarket chain so big if you stand anywhere and throw a rock you are bound to hit one :)

Is it me or are they getting slower at processing receipts? Used to be a few minutes to an hour or so but now it's taking a day or so most of the time. Might be connected to the new app photo feature?

xenole

I've never seen the 22g either. Only in Boots and WHSmith. Like the barbeque ones. As said, like a denser Wotsit. Assume the flavour means you can't tell it's made of chickpeas? Got the cans of cocktails back at present. £6 for 4 cans under the 4 for 3 offer (at least in one of the express stores) so if it pays out on all 4, £6 cashback (so free), more if you take advantage of 6 cans of each.

Toonah

Cheers.. haven't used that button in aaaages. Used to just list nearest stores...none of which stocked the offer stuff. This time it's missing some stores and showing others so will give it a go (y)

sola35

these hippeas 22g have been free on checkoutsmart app for months on and off, mainly on, nothing new here, sick of seeing them, i'd buy them just to get rid of them off the app, problem is finding them in the stores listed. the fage yogurt has also already been posted like the meatballs. hotukdeals.com/deals/fage-total-pot-yogurt-170-gmusually-1-now-free-tescosainsburys-via-checkoutsmart-2933549

Usual price 45p. Aldi seem to be even cheaper than Lidl on essential groceries recently.

troublesome1

There's a new branch of Lidl in Norwich which is as pleasant as any other supermarket in the city - much better lighting and wider isles, plus self-service checkouts if you just have a few bits and pieces. I could probably do all my shopping at Aldi and Lidl most weeks.

hooray.henry

My local Aldi is the new flashy type and its great. So much nicer than the dated 5 year old sainsburys next door. Welldone aldi.

Besford

Aldi now reduce stuff to half price when it has a day to go to sell by! Just had 5 delicious meals for three of us out of a massive leg of pork which cost us under £5 at Aldi. Did I mention that it was especially good pork too?

i_need_bargains

Respectfully disagree. The Aldi and Lidl stores I shop at in London have all been refitted recently and internally they are fine. Yes Sainsbury's has more choice of branded goods but I would not say service is any better at Sainsbury's. As for reductions all supermarkets do reductions on products near BBE dates. Still can't explain how for example Sainsbury's charge £1.15 for a 900g bag of own brand frozen french fries while Aldi and Lidi sell theirs for 75p and they are 1kg. Not to mention the great weekly offers on good quality fruit and veg. Sainsbury's are just greedily overpriced.

odom

Of course they don't compete with Aldi and Lidl on prices. The whole process in Aldi and Lidl, from entrance to exit, is designed to be low cost. Sainsburys isn't, more choice, better service, but you pay for it. Best to shop at both because there are things you can't get in Aldi or Lidl. I probably do two shops at Aldi then one shop at Sainsburys over a fortnight, getting different things from each. Plus my local Sainsburys do 75%+ reductions if you go in there at 6.30pm. Beats Aldi prices easily if you're not picky.

Now, you know that’s not true about leigh (flirt)

coolio28

You should open a restaurant in London. It would be full of hipsters and you’d be rich. London - every 10 yards there is a sushi shop Leigh, Manchester - every 5 yards there is a pie shop

Starkiwi26

This is Curry laksa (Malaysian favour of curry), it is different from Assam laksa (This is not curry, but spicy fish soup). All chinese grocery sell Curry laksa, but not Assam laksa. BUT, I just googled, manage to find this, probably the only Assam laksa selling in UK, but the shop is too far from my house... hmm... £4.95 delivery for an £1.75 Assam laksa paste... Just for info if anyone interested to know, I learned these when I backpacking in Malaysia. This is curry laksa. This is assam laksa, look at the fish (y) ... (though you won't find any fish in Maggie assam laksa) Really nice if you eat the authentic Malaysia assam laksa (lots of fish in the soup)

itsu chicken udon noodles 191g are my fave. Thick udon noodles, paste instead of powder, and big bowl to make lots of flavoursome broth. Definitely more than a snack. But £2.50 a pot is bit much.

Had these before and they're good, but they do contain MSG. Otherwise completely clean - no oil and just spices/natural seasoning: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samlip-Sijang-Udon-Soup-Pieces/dp/B0762WLMY9/
