Well done on your first deal @dc2020 thanks for sharing! (y)
Just put up our pool tonight, should be full by Saturday morning 🤪. it's not cheap to heat, we were about £100 a month last year, with a 3kw Intex heater, just switched supplier so shouldn't be any more expensive this year, kids were in it almost every day rain or shine, not cheap but I'm saving ££££ not going to Tenerife again :/
Mine used to constatly jump on making holes (skeptical) (annoyed)
My cats didn’t touch ours... the foxes however ripped a hole in the top once we had let it down to dry out! Was fine when up though :)
Also.could i ask what chemicals / brand u purchase?
I have a 1000gbh pump that was recommended in the thread when i purchased the intex 12 ft pump a few weeks back. Also have two solar mats. I just need a solar cover, the cleaning tools and that capsule tablet thing that goes in the pool. Not sure what you mean about having the pump holes in the swimming pool nearer to the back door? My pool will be going at the back of the garden on grass once levelled.
I got the same pool, you will probably need more Chlorine and Algae. It may last you the time you actually have it up for though as we don't get a lot of sun. Assume you have the pump. Make sure you put the pump holes in the swimming pool nearer to your back door.
I have the 10ft one and just purchased this kit, although I'm not sure how much is needed yet I would think this kit would be OK to start off with
I purchased the 12ft intex pool... any advice whether i should purchase this chemical kit or am i better buying larger individual quantities
I'd say it's definitely too small for a 4/5 year old. Don't get me wrong, they'd have fun splashing around, but the slide would be useless - I'd say it's suited to up to 3, maybe a small 4 at a push
Brilliant now all we need is the sun 🌞
Sorry just seen this deal - is this ideal for a rather tall 4 year old? The slide looks a little small for that age but hard to tell from the photo
Oh that's a pity! The reviews on Argos are generally very good, however they are some on there that also experienced punctures like yourself
We had this exact pool a couple of years ago, bought for about the same price IIRC. While it is great for little kids (say 1 to 3 years) to play in, we found that (1) it punctured really easily, and (2) it takes ages to blow up as the sections are all independent, so you have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting the pump. And that's not advantageous like you might think it would be - if one section does go flat and can't be repaired, the rest of it is basically useless as the flat section gets in the way so you end up binning something that's 90% intact.
I got one, used it yesterday. It's great, no holes and no problems. The only issue was my fault, it's probably a bit too big for us.... But I'll get some water cleaning powder and not empty it every night. All in, I'm very happy and awesome for the price.
I jumped on the price and only saw the reviews after it arrived. Haven’t used it yet as weather isn’t quite right. If I had taken the time to read the reviews prior like I normally do, I wouldn’t have purchased it.
Thanks for putting this up! Looking at the reviews makes me reluctant though...such a good deal and its perfect for the kids especially before prices start to go up. I am in two minds though...to buy or not to buy that is the question!
Comments are worrying.. not one, not two.. but many. So keep in mind that if you're lucky you will put it into bin in September (lol)
Was curious about the actual figure and it works out to £3.05 (@ 0.32516p per litre) for those served by Yorkshire Water.
FYI if you're on a water meter it will cost approx £5 each time you fill it.
Good price, however probably best viewed as a one-season disposable item. I bought one last year for a similar price, despite lots of reviews warning about punctures. After a few enjoyable weeks it did indeed develop a puncture which I couldn’t fix with the supplied patches. And that was that. I ended up getting one of the Steel Pro versions which although 3x the price, lasted for the rest of the summer, and is good for this summer too.
