Bought was of these in a 2nd hand shop in Hereford for 50p and never been used. Thumbs up anyway.

Don’t want to worry coffee experts. I have a french press a cant get enough of decent coffee. if you google ground coffee and Cholesterol you will find cafetière and french press coffee does not Contain good fats from the beans and will affect your LDLs (Bad cholesterol levels) but if you Drink coffee from a filter coffee maker your cholesterol is not affected cholesterol. Any ground coffee guru can add to this?

GDB2222

You don’t have to fill it. If you want half a pot, then brew half. Incidentally, 8 cup is misleading. It’s actually one and a half mugs, unless you throw a load of milk into the mug.

moislam79

Thanks will Google up what an aeropress is!

Same - I dumped my leaky my Nescafe Dulco Gusto with its expensive pods (£3.50 for 16 cups!!). Now I buy Lidl french blend for £1 and I get around 50 mugs of coffee from one packet.

getharoon

Use aeropress. I chop and change brands to try new flavours. never tried rave coffee. But aeropress is MAX level heat !

LanzaJet

These are brilliant. I have one very similar. I've done the whole coffee machine thing a number of times recently selling my expensive Delonghi machine. Bargain.

Ryanlewk

Get your self an AeroPress and buy coffee fresh and specifically filter ground - I use ravecoffee. You’ll never look back.

French press is what Americans call a cafitiere; you don't need both.

M91

That's interesting. May have to ditch my reusable aeropress filter. Strange they don't mention espresso

I had one from Argos, awesome quality. Bought one more for my parents on eBay. Complete rubbish. Quality bit as close to Argos one. What about this one?

wingz

I'll stick to the Aeropress, seems to be the best/value for making great coffee. thanks (y)

Mikeonfreeserve

No, plastic because it is silly to heat metal unnecessarily.

joedastudd

You end up with completely different coffee. The coffee stews in these and the grinds always find a way to get through the mess. An aeropress on the other hand only has around 30 seconds brewing and the paper filters stop all the grounds. The only real reasons to get the a cafeteria over an aeropress is to use less coffee grinds or for having multiple cups of coffee. Due to the size this fails on the later.

wingz

I was planning to get an Aeropress, now I'm thinking if I should get this instead.

That said... Recently bought a Moka pot and he Lavazza has come in to its own.. it is Italy's most popular but contains robusta so has plenty of kick

louiselouise

I was recommended Percol Black & Beyond instant ages ago and I really hated it, it was far too strong and bitter (and I'm pretty unfussy about coffee). Not sure about those other two. There was a Coffee Direct (found on Amazon) Breakfast Blend I really liked, so I tend to go for the smoother/weaker/inoffensive sorts of coffee. Personal taste, I guess. I'm pretty sure Poundland used to sell the smaller packs of Lyons Ground Coffee - OneBelow (when it was Poundworld) definitely did.

v5535

Can't be worse than Lavazza Crema e Gusto, which is rank. Best coffee is Lyons 4 from home bargains - 69p!!. Also Percol £1.30 and Aldi's Italian also good.

louiselouise

Got my coffee today. For once, it was packaged tightly in the parcel rather than Amazon's infamous crazy packaging, so I didn't realise what it was at first! Just having a cup now. Boyf (who has a better critical palate than mine) says it's sharper, woody undertones and not as smooth as the Consuelo we've been drinking for the last few weeks. I think it's fine, but I'm more easily pleased than he is!

Bazallworks

£7.25 with code now so not a massive price increase - still worth it imo

Morrisons sell the same cafetiere for £4.

dazigster

FWIW, Morrisons sell the same cafetiere (in fact it's the same cafetiere that all supermarkets, Argos, John Lewis and who knows who else sell with a higher markup), but in black for £4 as the standard price. That's the cheapest price I know of. So yeah, you get some cheap coffee thrown in on this deal, but if you miss it, there's always Morrisons.
