Seems like a good deal as it's all Castelli gear and you don't mind wearing sky on you. As they're changing names. They tend to be really expensive. I hope someone finds this us… Read more

As mentioned their sizes run small, but similar to other high-end European brands. The lengths are generous though, so I'm 6' but slim, and Castelli in medium is still fine. The jersey/jacket body and arm lengths are definitely long enough, although shorts legs may come up a little shorter than they intend.

stanno

Castelli is Italian racing sizing. I always go a size up (so for me L rather than M) and that's a good fit.

martynpd

Thanks I'm still too lazy for that. Thanks for the effort. XD

Thanks for sharing @martynpd - hope you don't mind, I've added some examples & delivery info to your OP, heat added :)

Seems like a great deal. Anyone know what the sizing is like. Don't trust the size guide. Jerseys and bibshorts suited to tall riders?

Some genuinely good deals there, imo anyway. I get that not everybody wants to wear fill team kit but the bibs are discreet enough to go unnoticed to the untrained eye. Have some of the best pads out there

deal-hunter

I ride in cycling gear. I get changed at work. As you say; spend more to get the breathable one.

deal-hunter

Lights on in the morning, and by night at this time of the year! Hopefully they see you! Drivers have trouble noticing motorcyclists let alone pedal cyclists. Treat everybody as if they didn't see you, it's the only way to stay alive. Still the best, and most ethical way to commute (except for walking I guess).

mcrobbj

Great for night but I am not convinced as a day jacket as you will just blend in with the surroundings which actually makes it more dangerous.

il_capo

Reviews say this isn't breathable, so although it will help you get seen at night it is likely to leave you and the clothes you are wearing under it pretty wet and stinky should you ride for more than a few miles. If you just do short night trips it should be adequate. For more active riders the Altura Night Vision range is probably better (but more expensive).

Yeah some nice deals! Some of the pieces I wanted aren't on sale like Pro Team Thermal Base Layer and the new Winter Gloves (annoyed) Word's out on the daily deal thing but maybe there's a chance yet for me. Or maybe they'll add more kit to the sale this weekend.. here's hoping (angel)

TheGoofyZambian

40% off for the Core rain jacket seems reasonable, 40% off the classic wind and rain jackets and 30% off the Pro Team Race Cape and Thermal Bibs

psargeant

I've never ever had a problem with them either, they're brilliant.... I reported a fault on a merino jersey...I was told to keep it.... and then got another one....how good is that..... (If you have too much cycling kit....stick in the post to me... thanks...size L....)

psargeant

Can't agree with you on that one, for you, yes, but for others, no. They do what it says on the tin, especially the winter clobber.... The pro kit is for racers...not porkers... The pockets are generous.... great zip positions.... Take wash, after wash, after wash and still look good. You don't suggest alternatives... Castelli....StolenGoat....Ale....POC......Assos... you pays your money...you make your choice... 40pc off is great deal.... Their socks are good .....

Best approach with this is a short sleeve gabba and arm warmers. British weather is at best changeable, so building up layers is by far the best approach imo.

Lucero

I have a long sleeved Gabba 2 and a Perfetto (not the light which is thinner Windstopper and only on the front). I feel the cold at 57kg and wouldn't buy a short sleeved Gabba. I realise that some people are better insulated than I am.

trickytree1984

Actually, all colours are invisible at night. You need reflectives....not bright colours. Most roadies will be on back lanes using a bright rear light or in groups, where bright colours wont really help increase your visibility. I try to wear hi viz when commuting, but in the country while group riding, black black black. Also, hi viz is everywhere now. Pink is probably the best colour as yellow and ornage is everywhere.

jazid

Large and xlarge already sold out

jazid

You haven't made the assumption that everyone who buys these is a roadie have you? Some may call that idiotic. Dark colours win when mud is involved.

Why_not

Thanks OP, got the Blackburn lights (front one at 75 Lumens is stronger than I need for commuting in London) but can't fault it at £4.50!

chitychatty

Tredz are also doing the OnGuard Brute for similar. This is a 16mm as opposed to the 14mm but doesn't come with a cable. Decent prices across the range! I've got the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini which is ace. However, luckily I no longer live in London and commute to a secure site so my spidey-sense is dialled right down.

theblackbuck

Ah the one I have is 14mm (see here: https://www.tredz.co.uk/.OnGuard-Pitbull-Mini-DT-Shackle-Lock-with-Cable_61152.htm). I wrote one of the reviews but just noticed I've only had the lock 4 years, not the 5 years I stated above. But yes, you can get locks that should be even more secure but they usually weigh more, cost more, or both. For me, the above lock has sufficient security (I think it's Gold standard) and still be convenient enough for everyday use. And a very reasonable price of course! But everyone's requirements and budgets are different.

whatyadoinsucka

Read the ops comments hence my comment, being smart I bought mine in spring early summer (strong)

chitychatty

Only 13mm though. I'd be wary of using it as a primary lock on anything worth a few bob. This is a fantastic no-nonsense list of the top locks you can get. Well worth bookmarking: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/144109/

The above is the ones I mentioned and refer to (most do have lights tbf), mongo's of the highest order, and where I live a lot of them are what I'd call professional cyclists, not kids or even commuters. I do cycle so I'm aware of both sides but some cyclist seem to think they are invincible and have no regard for their own safety, I have no feelings towards them hurting themselves but I feel for their families.

abdndamo

Because there are a proportion of drivers that irrelevant of what the danger ahead is, are on their phones, not paying attention and the excuse is I didn't see them and laying the blame on the vulnerable road user. As a cyclist I actually wear this jacket, I have 1000lm front and 300lm back lights but I hear the same attack at cyclists again and again. Cars are weapons and drivers are in charge of them. The mentality is "bloody cyclist". There are definitely bad cyclists but equally and probably more so bad drivers. But a bike is 10kg and can inflict little damage. A car at 1500kg+ can destroy a house, let alone kill a pedestrian/cyclist. This isn't a dig at you but more an opportunity to raise awareness. The campaign "think bike think biker" for motorcyclists targeted drivers to think and stop at junctions and double check before pulling out. Motorcyclists don't get as much flack for not wearing reflective gear but they can go 70mph, a cyclist will generally max out in mid 20's. If a driver is not seeing cyclists, slow it down and pay attention. If they are on a bike, in black without lights in pitch darkness then they are one of the irresponsible lot and are taking their life into their own arms. I don't recommend that at all.

returnofthemac

As a cyclist I'd want to be seen, if I'm not seen ultimately it's going to hurt at least, if I'm not seen in a black car then it's unlikely to hurt as much. Why would having a high visibility car mean we could pay no attention to the roads and be on FB?

abdndamo

If only they did them for black cars too. Then we could all be on Facebook and pay no attention to the road ahead
