To be honest, we did agree that if we had paid the ticket price we would go home thinking we'd not got our money's worth (as the tickets were bought for us) and I don't think we could spend a whole day there, not even in summer. I agree though it completely depends on children and their ages, ours are 3&7. It was bloody freezing too! Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable but short lived. Might just be my kids lol

Sounds like the Devon one is better, then.

I haven't been for a while, but the Devon one had mini diggers that even my 6 year old could drive around and 4x4 Mitsubishi Shogun that my older ones could drive themselves. Then there were also indoor sms outdoor play areas. Certainly enough for a good few hours, but I did question whether I would pay the full entry price.

Went to the Kent one. My 3.5 year old (98cm) loved it. He had to sit on our laps for most rides but really enjoyed himself and keeps asking to go back. It is relatively small but a nice day for little legs, not too much walking. You can see charts online of what child can go on by height. I can see why lots of people want to go here! And we will be going back!
Appalling bad day. Very expensive for what it is and little to do. Even my easy going 4 year old was bored. So many other options fvailable for entertainment I just don't see why anyone would go here (sepecially after you've been once).
yourvoucherbook.co.uk

I know some folk won't want to buy but there really is some savings to be had.
Your entertainer Tees Valley edition bogof coupons for entry amongst other attractions in area and some nationwide ones too.
Recently went to the one in Kent. A really great day and superb value for money. No queuing to get on anything. I had a two and four year old with me both over 90cm. Plenty of things they had to sit out our laps for but that didn't make any difference. A really unique day out. If you averaged the cost over how many diggers etc we drove it probably worked out about £1-£1.50 for each so not expensive.

Went to the Castleford one - it's ****. It advertises that it's for young and old - however the only accessible diggers are the smallest ones and even they are hobbled in some way (e.g. the ones you can actually dig with can't drive back or forward nor can you swivel left and right too far).

Other lowlights include the digger with several rows of benches that go up....stay up for a few minutes and then go down again, or my personal favorite, the 'Safari' which consists of a battered Toyota Landcruiser driving down a dirt track (no proper off roading), past various cardboard cutouts of animals.

On the plus side you could go in a full size digger at a measly £150!
One thing I miss about the children being grown up now, my yearly trip to Diggerland..... Great day out.

You are deliberately missing the point that March isn't peak season. There's no point in continuing to argue with you . Voting cold because you got it cheaper off peak proves you are an idiot. Just another statistic on my ignore list. Good bye.

At diggerland Durham at the moment. Really impressed with it. Well worth what we paid and haven't had to queue for anything. Our little boy thinks it's great!
We've been to Devon and Kent, loved them both (weren't expecting to enjoy it, it was a treat for JcB hooked son) but found Devon better at letting all people in the q have a turn driving. At Kent only 1 person per group was able to drive.

Seems to have finished now all sold out
When I went I thought it was awful, especcially as I paid full price, for £5 its probably worth it. Its quite small, well theYorkshire one is anyway!
I really wouldn't bother going. We went on a full price day (which is WAY over priced but we had no vouchers) it wasn't busy at all but we were still queuing for half an hour at each ride. Some of the smaller diggers were closed because the 'earth wasn't favourable' , the large digger lift ride had a puncture and they didn't have all the vehicles working at the other attractions to compensate for that either. I have no idea how they cope when they do these special offer days. Plus the first things you're greeted with at the Yorkshire park are coin operated rides.
got the deal and looking forward to tje experience as are my children.

Thanks, had not realised it had sold out. Will expire.
Just checked today and the website is sold out
I used to work at the one in Devon, so i cant speak for Durham specifically but the one thing i would say to parents taking their kids is that it was a health and safety nightmare (and im not exactly a fan of the heath and safety culture in this country in general). The 'training' the staff had was pretty much non existent, and often performed by the ones who had started a few weeks before. I was quite surprised for example that while on a building site you would need a license to use this kind of equipment, but at Diggerland the (often teenagers) running the machines where people actually sit in the digger buckets and get swung around etc don't have to take any tests. I'm amazed they get insured if I'm honest.

As i said perhaps the others aren't as bad as Devon, and perhaps Devon has improved since i was there a few years ago, but i saw too many accidents (though not injuries luckily) and near misses for my liking.
