Perhaps the more important question. Rather than the price. Is should we be buying what in effect are disposable electrical appliances? It might only last a year. But for 6 quid you may think it hardly matters. Currys will recycle any electrical items you take to them. But some of the plastic will end up in landfill. This type of product csnt be sustainable in the long term.
Brilliant! And free delivery!

"Look after your tools, and your tools will look after you". I'm still using kitchen gadgets and tools that are from the 1950's and earlier. Wooden handles and the all important 'Sheffield steel', they will easily outlast me.
That is impressive life span!

I have never used this website before, it is like any other website? I see the word 'member' used a lot? Do i have to buy a membership or can I just buy this whisk?
Anything less than 250W won't be able to mix anything thicker than pancake batter. Most, even the cheapest, come with three basic attachments: a paddle for general mixing, a whisk for beating cream or egg whites, and a dough hook for kneading bread dough. Don't bother with a hand mixer that has a dough hook. Chances are the motor isn't powerful enough to handle bread dough. It would also be too uncomfortable holding the mixer over a bowl for the amount of time it takes to machine-knead dough. Also the motor will get heated up faster if it is less than 250W. This model from Braun is 750W which will handle these with ease, without overloading the motor.

Only the classic toaster is made in UK anymore
Virtually all hand mixers on the market use near-identical hardware. The £10 no-name ones on eBay have exactly the same innards as this £40 Dualit one; the external casing is all that's changed. In some cases the motor will have a higher wattage rating but this could be a trivial change such as removing an artificial voltage limit if more heatsyncs are used to dissipate resulting heat. Just take a look across the range of mixers; you'll see virtually every one is laid out almost exactly the same, just with a different shell.
Yes, thanks op. Generally very good reviews on Amazon plus Costco customer service is normally great (should you have any issues).
