Mmmr the clusters are lovely, just ate loads straight out the box! 68p

dlm136

Found the honey nut clusters in my local (Barkingside) same price And they are very tasty

hewyuk

Jack's are a Tesco brand, with their own stores, aimed at being more competitive with the 'discount' supermarkets. On another note, both of these are great, as I bought them from Grimsby Tesco a week or 2 back at around £1 a box... So, at these prices they're great :) . The nut clusters with chocolate are particularly nice :) and quite moreish...

I think that the bottom line is that it MIGHT speed up wound healing. And it might not. End of story. But that's a bit more info than you get from ground up rhino horn or Tiger penis concoctions. Obviously thousands of drugs are derived from natural sources but honey isn't a big source. Currently. Sorted.

Roger_Irrelevant

Dog dirt. GIYF. https://www.nhs.uk/news/medical-practice/bug-busting-properties-of-honey-assessed/ Conclusion This study provides more information about the actions of different honeys on different types of bacteria in the laboratory. There has been considerable interest in the anti-bacterial properties of honey, as it has been used since ancient times for preventing wound infection. Several modern drugs have been derived from old remedies and natural sources. As with drugs, studies are often conducted by the suppliers or manufacturers of the product being tested, as was the case in the current study. This does not necessarily mean that the results are biased, but ideally, the findings would be confirmed in research from independent laboratories. A recent systematic review from the Cochrane collaboration identified 25 trials assessing honey as a treatment for acute and chronic wounds. It concluded that honey dressings did not significantly speed up healing in one type of leg ulcer (venous leg ulcers) when used alongside compression of the ulcer, and could delay healing in deep burns and in ulcers caused by a sandfly bite (cutaneous Leishmaniasis). The results were slightly more encouraging for moderate burns, where the review concluded that honey may shorten healing time compared with conventional dressings, but the review authors had serious doubts about the reliability of this finding. There was not enough evidence to assess the effects of honey on other types of wounds. While the results of this current study do support an antibacterial effect of honey, results derived in a laboratory do not necessarily translate into a real-world setting. As the authors of the current study note, “more clinical data are needed for robust statistical appraisal” of the effects of honey in wound healing in patients. Overall, it seems likely that research into the antibacterial effects of honey will continue. Studies such as the current one in the laboratory do need to be followed up by robust randomised controlled trials to assess whether these properties translate to benefits in patients. Calling your GP is not proof I'm afraid.

Proveright

If you want proof ring up your GP or next time you are in hospital ask. Or if you know anyone with weeping wounds that will not heal, tell them to put the honey on them and they will thank you for it.

spatter

If you could just attach the proof into a reply that would be fab. And I mean proof not 'it might' be good for you. My friend is in the Manuka industry and he says there's no proof and they won't pay for a clinical study as it will probably prove them wrong!

Jack Daniels honey and no7 reduced to £20 a litre in Tesco. National promotion.
Anthonyuk

This is a scorching hot deal. I remember the exact same deal went to 2000+ degrees at Christmas. And its worthy of that heat. The JD Honey for a Litre is a very good deal and its easly the best version of Jack Daniels in my opinion. Next time you have a cold of flu, drink some of this. This will make you feel better.

BakerA1

It says £20 a litre. Or do you prefer 1L. I won't bother with a description in future then you will have something to moan about.

sam_of_london

Voted hot for JD . Everyone I know loves it

Probably true but your link was useful to show its also the same reduction on No 7. Heat from myself (y) 🏻

I'm guessing because it doesn't say 1 litre in the title and/or the majority aren't honey JD fans. A deal for 1 litre of no 7 posted yesterday is currently over 400 degrees.

Talking of Oat Cheerios, it's one of the very few cereals (Weetabix and Shredded Wheat are the other 2 main ones) with less than 5% sugar...or so I thought until recently. I went to Tesco the other day and was surprised to see *2* versions of Oat Cheerios. One's the original low sugar blue box and the new one is in a beige box with four times the amount of sugar! I think it's very poor of Nestle to do this. Apart from the chance of picking up the wrong box (esp. since the high sugar version is on offer at Tesco and the low sugar one isn't), if people want the sugared version, couldn't they just add sugar to the low sugar version anyway? Come to think of it, shouldn't *all* cereals be under 5% sugar (don't add sweeteners like the drinks market disastrously did!) to allow the family to pick and choose their preferred sugar level per person by adding/not adding sugar themselves? And don't forget diabetics who have a dismal cereal choice (porridge anyone?) becsuse of the high sugar content of 95% of cereals out there.

Unless I am wrong. This will be just any stores still with it clearing out old 2018 stock as they only release this as a Christmas special drink? But it is lovely, the regular clarkes is vile. But the honey is lovely. It tastes a lot like Jack Danies Honey over Jim Beam. Its pretty much idenitcal tasting to JD Honey.
