Thanks. Got these at home so good to have spares as one of them seems to be needing restarted more often.

Makes the speeds they advertise completely pointless really so I agree, not sure why gigabit isn't the standard by now, I suppose these would work for a lot of people still though

I don't get why hardware with 10/100 ports only are being made......until all old components are used up etc fair enough, but no wonder where's lot of component shortages etc when lower quality stuff is constantly being made. I very much doubt there's a huge change in actual price for making a port a gigabit port....and yup I know not all devices need more than 100, but you won't hit 100 with these either

I just did?

Um, my phone cost under £500 SIM free, and not only does it work perfectly as a WiFi access point (as in there is literally nothing else I could ever imagine it needing to do), but it's also, you know, a phone. People have one anyway, and I really can't understand why anyone would ever need a standalone portable wifi access point. Can you give me a real world example?

hecatae

Not the greatest comparison, your phone is around £700 sim free. If you compare this to the netgear m5 which is currently priced around six to seven hundred pounds, there’s no contest, the dlink beats it on price and offers a similar performance.

profet

This was between London and Manchester. Also worked fine in a large hotel room. I just can't think of a single realistic situation where I'd ever need more than my phone's hotspot. I mean, maybe if I needed to provide a hotspot in the middle of a large field for a dozen people all needing 4k Netflix.

oddfellows

But where was this? Take your phone into a poor signal area or have a larger wifi area to cover than a car and your phone will not cope; its antenna are NOT big enough.

Order came through, they put me on a 24 month contract. Check your contracts if you got this too.

Tried yesterday evening and just now: link seems to be dead. Same happens, when I checked directly on the ChitterChatter website. A box with the pic of the modem shows up, but the link is dead. Pity, sounded like a good offer.

mrBrian

'Should' is not a certainty, I don't want to stick with ee at all so would rather just buy the modem on it's own, rather than be stuck with something that can't be unlocked for 6 months/pay £8.99 for ee to unlock. BT are virtually nazis now so unlikely in my opinion to allow free unlock after a month contract.

_Sparky_

Link not working for me... but if works for others could be good deal to get device to work as a backup for broadband if working from home. Though saying that tethering your mobile may suffice...

deal_miner

hi its 6mnths or out of contract so should be free after 30 days

Lol my bad but l planted the seed

CrazyBob

I have two of these and use them in Acces Point mode, they work really well for that.

Casper_1

Don't bother with wifi extenders. They don't work much, just decrease the strength of the wifi signal. Invest money on a powerline wifi or a mesh wifi system. Worth every penny. I have both and can't recommend enough.

waheedaamir1

Then there is fault with it otherwise you should notice the difference

waheedaamir1

You mean Speed test.... That is a valid suggestion. Thanks
