I don't pretend to be an expert in your field, I'm sure you know 1000x more than me (that's not sarcastic by the way). Don't go thinking your the only one who's an expert in their field (not that you suggested this).
That may we’ll be true, I’m first to admit there are a lot of plonkers in the industry - a lot of car salespeople were selling TVs in Currys last week, and working in a call centre the week before. I however really know my stuff, and would tie you in knots in the kind of situations you have experienced. Pardon my arrogance. p.s. I began by criticising German cars in general, you brought BMW specifically into it.
Why are you telling me that? Go look at what you have said, that I have commented about.
Ok nice, so when you were talking about working on cars under warranty, you weren't talking about BMWs, even though you gave the impression that you knew all about them and now you're going to tell me that you do and that they're all the same and that's fine. I've dealt with many big shot salesmen and managers at a variety of 'big-name ' dealerships. They all gave the impression that they knew what they were talking about but it wasn't always to case. It's not a good idea to go around telling people you know more that them, even if you do, no?
2+2=5 in your World doesn’t it? I have worked in the Motor Industry since September 1988 - so just approaching 30 years, so just maybe, I may know more about cars than you - just a hunch. I have been an Aftersales Manager with a number of brands within that time, and therefore have overseen/approved a lot of warranty work. Definitely tonnes more with German cars than Japanese cars. I have also charged people for non-warranty work, again, considerably more with German cars than anything else. I haven’t actually worked at a BMW dealership (though I could join one within days if I desired) but I have seen enough issues with them to know they are comparable to the other European brands in terms of faults and failures. I hope this additional info clears things up for you, and makes you feel silly.
